To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, EARL Acxsa, residm v at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion an. State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Window-Shadc Supports and Curtain-Hangers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to combined window shade supports and curtain hangers, and one of the principal objects of the invention is to provide a device for su porting the rollers of window shades HIM at the same time su porting the lace curtain pole, and to provi e means whereby the entire device may be connected to a window frame without the use of nails or tools.

Another object of the invention is to provide a shade support and curtain hanger for double windows, or windows side by side, in which a single device is secured centrally and at the top of both windows to support two shades and two curtain poles or curtain.

The foregoing and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,

Referring to Fig. 1 of the drawing, the numeral 1 esignates the window frame of a double window having a central dividing panel 2, and supported upon the window casing in the top t ereof is a double bracket, comprisin a base plate 3 having its ends 4 beat at right angles and provided with rongs 5 to engage the window casin ounted on the base plate 3 is a curtain po e bracket 6, the outer end of which is provided with a curved recess 7 and an a wardly extending hook 8. Connected to the. outer end of the angular portion 9 of the curtain pole bracket 6 are spiral springs 10, and connected to the opposite end of the base plate 3 are spire springs 11. The springs 10 and 11 are each connected to the end brackets of the shade support and ourtain hanger. Mounted upon the base plate 3 at opposite sides of the window curtain bracket 6 are shade brackets 12 and 13, said brackets having angular ortions provided with bent over ears or flanges 14 and 15 which engage the base member 3 and slide thereon to compensate for shade rollers of the different lengths, one of said brackets havin a squared hole 16 while the other is provi ed with a round hole for the spindles of the shade rollers.

The end brackets each comprise the base plate 17, each provided with downturned feet 18 also having prongs to engage the outer sides of the window frame, and the springs 10 and 11 are connected to these base p ates to insure the engagement of the prongs on the feet 18 with the outer sides of the window casing. Mounted-on each of the base plates 17 is an adjustable shade bracket 19 formed from a single piece of sheet metal and having an outwardly bent bracket member 20, while the strip which enga es the base 17 is bent over the top and ottom thereof to slide thereon to accommodate rollers of difi'erent lengths. eferring to Figs. 4 and 5 of the drawings, in which a single form of window shadesupport and hanger is shown, the base lates 17 are identical with those illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawing and are connected 1 together by means of the spiral springs 10. said springs being connected at their ends to perforations 22.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that the combined window shade support and curtain hanger can be placed upon a window without the necessity of tools or fastening devices, since the s rings will draw the devices one toward t e other and hold them firmly in connection with the window casing. It Wlll also be obvious that the bracket for the window shade may be adjusted toward and from one another to compensate for different lengths of rollers and one of said brackets being provided with a round hole and the other a square one for the rollers.

Various changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claim.
