in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented new and-useful Improvements in 4Sales-Books, of which the following is a'specication.

yur invention relates tomanifolding devices for hand or counter uses generally, but more especiallyl to sales or order books and to novel means for positioning and original and duplicate order blanks, an interposed transferV sheet or sheets, in proper o erative Irelation upon a suitable baseboar or book back.

The invention has for an object to-provide a book of the character indicated which is at once durable, efcient and of simple construction; adapted to be supported` upon one hand of a user while with the other he may conveniently make entries and remove or manipulate the pages as occasion requires.

Another object is to provide a book capable of use either with or without inclosing covers, and devoid of exterior projections which might otherwise interfere with placing it in the pocket, or cause injury to the hands of a user.

Essentially and broadly stated this vinvention resides in a holder for order blanks and the like comprising a unitary rigid base plate having integral upturned flanges at one Side. and one end thereof serving primarily to position ordergblanks in uniform alinement upon said base plate, and secondarily to assist in retaining them in operative position. .A l The invention further resides in means for detachably securing order blanks to one of' said ianges, and means for. similarly secursheet yor sheets to the other ofv said flanges for manifolding purposes. A metallic holder for order blanks having a tablet base and upwardly pro3ecting integral flanges upon adjacent edges thereof adapted to prevent longitudinal and transverse movement of blanks in the direction of said flanges, in combination with means for detachably securing order blanks in stacked alinement to one of said fianges, a clamping bar hinged to the other of said flanges at one end thereof and movable in a plane parallel with the surface ofl'isaid base for detachably securing a transfer sheet to the last mentioned ange, and a latch upon 15 said clamping bar for interlocking with its supporting flange.
