Be it known that I, CHARLES F; I-IAWLEY, of Kansas City, in the county oi'Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented n. new und useful VImprovement in Angular Strap-Hinges, 85e.;

My invention relates to a new Way of lapplyoi' an angular hinge-strap, where the sharp turn is apt to strain the iibers oi' the metal and allow it to be rendilyfruetnred. The improvement consists in striking up the metal inwardly where the angle is to he formed.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a. perspective View of a. hinge, designed for n Window-shutter, constructed according-to my invention.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the angle, and B the bruce or corrugution in the angle. The improvement simply consists in forcing inward aportion of the outward corner or projecting angle A so as to form u brace or truss on the inner angie.
There may he two or more corrugntions, if desired; but for ordinary strnp hin ges or breekL ets one is usually found sufiicient to give the bend or :ingle the required degree of strength.
rlhis improvement applies exclusively to wrought-iron hin ges.
