improvements in combined shade roller and curtain hangers.
An object of the present invention is to provide a combined shade roller and curtain hanger in which the brackets for supporting the shade roller tive to the window frame to compensate for shade rollers of diii'erent lengths.
A further object of the invention is to provide laterally adjustable shade roller brackets that are associated with a supporting board of peculiar construction whereby the same are limited in their outward movement relative to the window frame by the supporting board and wherein the said brackets are held in fixed position by means carried by the bracket and supporting board and cotiperating in a manner to be hereinafter set forth.
With these general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same con sists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described,
illustrated in the accompanying drawing and then claimed.
, In the drawing forming a part of this application and in which like designating characters refer to corresponding parts through out the several views :--Figure l is a detail perspective view of a portion of the window frame with my improved shade roller bracket and curtain hanger in operative position thereon. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional View .taken on lines HII of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a top plan view partly in section of a portion of the device as illustrated in Fig. 1.
Briefly described, the present invention aims to provide a combined shade roller support and curtain hunger in which the shade roller supporting brackets are adjustable laterally oi. the window frame and held in adjusted position by thumb screws. There is provided a supporting board that is secured to the window frame and to which is connected longitudinal strips carrying equidistantly spaced knobs or projections beare laterally adjustable relatween which the set screws are selectively positioned so that should the screws become loose, liability of the shade roller falling out of the supporting brackets is obviated, in that relative movement of the supportin brackets and bracket supporting board will be limited by the said thumb screws engaging the adjacent knobs. Curtain hangers are associated with the bracket carrying board and are of such a type that will permit their ready positioning at suitable points on the board to compensate for curtain poles of diiierent lengths.
Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing,
there is illustrated in Fig. 1 a window frame designated 10, partially broken away and having secured thereto the shade bracket supporting board 11. The supporting board 11 is more clearly shown in sect1on 1n Fig. 2 and includes the main body portion with the lower extension 12, the supporting board 11 being secured to the window frame by fastening members 13.
The upper and lower edges of the board 11 are provided with longitudinal grooves 14 and 15 respectively and extend throughout the length thereof. The front wall of the groove l-i is cut away intermediate the ends thereof as at 16 to provide end shoulders 17 that constitute stops to limit the outward movement of the shade roller brackets 18. A pair of spaced plates or bars 19 is secured to the outer face of the board 11 by screws 20 and have their ends angularly bent as at 21 and provided with suitable fastening means to further hold the bars in position on the board 11. I
The shade roller brackets 18 each include a main body portion positioned adjacent the board 11 with angularly bent upper and lower ends 22 and 23 respectively and are adapted for sliding reception in the grooves 14 and. 15 in the board 11. Shade roller supporting arms are carried by the brackets 18, the one being shown having the angular slot 25 therein adapted for receiving the angular pin 26 of the shade roller 27, as more clearly shown in Fig. 3, the cooperating shade roller bracket and arm being omitted from the drawing but including an arm similar to the arm 2% with a circular opening therein. The shade roller brackets 18 are provided with threaded openings at screws 28, the ends of which engage ighe plaie and cause the angle ends 22 and of she bracket to positively engage the outer walls of the slots 14; and 15 to efi'ectively retain the shade bracket in adjusted position. s ries of spaced knobs 29 arranged in close reliiiion. on the bars 19 further assist the bracket; in retaining its adjusiied posiizion by rev eating; longitudinal movemenfi of ihe bracket by the ends of ihe screws'erlgaging the said knobs, should the screws become sligiiily loos-e e) permit the hrackei arms to more laterally. This wili be cleurlyunderstood by reference to Fig. 3 wherein she set screw 28 engages the her 19 between the knobs 2'9. I
Curtain hangers 30 have ilireaded ends 81 that pass through; the lower extension 12 of the bracket supporting board 11 and iuiao the window frame 1% and constituee supports for she curtain roller 32 upon which a euriein 33 Fig. 2. It will noted that Elie curtain hangers 30 may be readily removed from she supporiing board '11 and Window frame 10 siid'iusefed at new yoiui; to fscilisete the correct e geravtioii of the device for curpoles of differeni lengths. is is believed shat she adjusiahiliiy of v efshede roller brackets is read appsr :16 from the above detailed descripiion, is :1 lug noied iii as moremeni of ilie brackets 18 in an outward direction is limiiedby the ehouiders 17 on the from Wall of ihe upper siol; 34. so prevent accideziial disgilacereene iiiiereof', and in order to Wioliy rsmoverhe bracket frem the board 11 it is only necessary eieva'l e the same at asliglii distance she to perm he bracket to slide over he shoulder and he removed "more islieboard.
is recruited as showiiin While the form of the invention herein shown and described. is what is believed to he the preferred embodiment thereof, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made in the form, propertion and details of construction without de-.
parting from the spirit and scope of the inrention as claimed:
carried by said brackets, thumb screws carried by said supporting bracket adapted to the oars heiween the knobs to prevent moreh'ieniof the b 'aclrei, relatively e 1e suoooreiu' board when the screws are 2, slight? iooseued.
2. A device of the class described C01n] )1lS- ing in combination with a bracket supporting board and spaced hers secured rosaid board with outwardly directed knobs carried by said bars, a shade roller supporting bracket slidably mounted on said board and shumb screws carried by said ed to engage to hold the brackets board.
