Letters Patent No. 114,752, dated May 16, 1871.

IMPROVEMENT IN PAPER BOXES.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the name.

To whom 'it may concern Be it known that I, PETER BEER, of Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Paper Boxes; and I do declare that the following is a true and accurate description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon and being a part of this specification, in Which Figure 1 shows my box inclosed in a case.

Figure 2 shows the box detached.

Figure 3 shows the bottom of the box with the ends detached before being folded.

Figure 4 shows the sides and ends of the box de tached before being folded.

Like letters refer. to like parts in each figure.

-lhe object of this invention is the construction of a paper box for packing matches and other articles, which shall be more easily made and at a less cost than those now in use.

The invention consists in the construction and arrangement of the several parts of such boxes, as more fully hereinafter described.

A cover for the box may be made in a like manner, but the box above described is intended to fit into a case, 0, as shown in fig. 1.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

lhe paper box described, consisting of the pieces A and B and the case 0, all constructed, arranged, and combined substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
