inseam.
To all whom it may concern 1 Be it known that I, WALTER W. HALL, a citizen ofithe United States, and residing at'Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements" inAmusement Devices, of which he following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it ap'p'ertains to make and'use the same.
This invention relates to; amusement devices or apparatus,-and the object thereof is to provide an improveddevice or apparatus of this class designed for indoor use and the invention consists in a device or apparatus of th e class specified designed in imitation of the 'game'of tenpins, and which may be supported on legs or a table, or other support, and may be conveniently moved from one place or point to another and which will serve to amuse and entertain both old and young.
'" are the usual gutters or grooves b, and at the farther or rear end of which is the usual pit c, and the sides of the alley-way are provided with raised walls d, the rear ends of which, at the sides of the pit c, and the pin space a are raised as shown at d and the pit c is provided with a correspondingly raised back wall d I also employ the usual number of pins f which are of the usual form but much smaller than the pins employed in the regular game and across the front end portion of the alley-way is placed an elastic strap 9, the ends of which are connected with, or secured to pins It, and for a projectilel preferably employ a disk 2', and in Fig. 1 of the accompanying draw- 'ing I have indicated the method of playing the game.
It will be understood that the game may. be played by any desired number, and each player may have a disk 2' or one disk may Specificationcf Letters Yatent.
I Patented Apr. 2o, ieis.
Application tiled June a, 1914. Serial no. steam.
.serve for all of the players. In playin the game, the disk is placed in front 0 the strap 9 and the fingers are placed thereon :and the disk'an'd strap 9 are pulled back, ;as indicated in Fig. 1, arid released,and this @operation results in the disk being projected in the direction of the pins, and the game is counted as all other games of this class.
In Fig. 1 of theaccompanying drawing,
.the strap 9 and disk 2' are show-n as drawn back centrally and longitudinally of the alley-way, but it will be understood that the said strap and disk may be drawn back as I indicated by the arrows in and 1 so as to discharge the disk in the direction of the side pins, or side corner pins, or the center pin as may be desired.
In the construction showmthe device or apparatus is provided at each end with downwardly directed members whichftermihate in the same horizontal plane, {one-of these members being the pit c and the'etllcltv consisting of a front leg or similar devicey, and as made the devlce or apparatus may be supported on a table or other support is, or
said device or apparatus may be provided v with legs by which it could be supported on the floor, and it will be understood that my improved game device may be made of any desired dimension, and is portable and .may be used as a parlor game or game device;
and while I have shown and described the preferred form of my improved amusement device, my invention is not limited thereto, and changes in and modifications of the details of construction herein shown and described may be made, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of my invention orsacrificing its advantages.
Having fully described my invention,
I claim as new and desire to secure by I whri Let" rs Patent, is I 1. A portable game device made in imitation of a bowling alley and provided withthe usual alley-way at the opposite sides of which are the usual side gutters and at the rear end of which is the usual pin pit, the front end portion of the devicebetween the side gutters and forwardly thereof bein free and unobstructed and being provide forwardly of the front ends of the side guticoters with securing devices, and an elastic' strip or band connected with said deyices and extending transversely of and entirely across the alley-Way.
2. A portable game device made in the imitation of a bowling alley and provided with the usual alleyway, the front end portion of the alley-Way being open and unob strncted and being provided with securing devices at the opposite side edges thereof, an elastic strip orband connected with said securing devices and extending entirely across the alley-Way, and a disk-shaped pro- 10 jectile adapted to be manipulated in connection with said band, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name-in presence of the subscribing Witnesses this 15 29th day of May 1914.
