IMPROVEMENT IN WASH-BOILERS.

Be it known that I, WoLcotrl` B. WHITE, of Rome,

Oneida county, State of New York, have in vented certain Improvements in Apparatus for Washing and Cleansing Clothes, of which the following is a clear, full, and exact description, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, vreference heilig had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which drawing- Figure l is an upright side of the conductor, with the diaphragm or bottom.

Figure 24 is an upright-edge'view ,of the same.

Figure 3 is the perforated diaphragm or bottom,-

bottom of the boiler, and is supported by the crossbar H.

In the center of the described diaphragm or bottom is an opening, F, to which (the diaphragm over the opening) `is attached the upright conductor E, with its perforated walls G, and is covered with a cylinder, I, which is perforated, by which the steam and suds are allowed to freelycirculate.

The particular improvement which is claimed in this invention is that by means of the -hollow chamber,

which is open through the center of the diaphragm or botti-om, the steam and hot water are more readily distributed through the" clothing, thereby facilitating the process and more electually doing the work.

What l claim as my invention and improvement islhe combination of the perforated diaphragm or bott-om B, and the upright, hollow, perforated chamber and conductor E, with the perforated cylindrical top or cover I, all constructed as shown and described,

for the purposes specified.
