Twine-,holdershaveheretofore `been made of tivo shells hinged together and suspended, either byaring `at the top of `the upper shell, or by a studprojecting `fromthe `lower shell enteringa socket rinthe supportf ing bracket; and" said twine-.holders have also been providedwith a` brake to prevent the cord drawing @ont of the holder; too freely, said brake being either I upon `the inside of the holderor outside upon the y lower part of theunder shell. l

`Sradimprovementyconsistsin a twine-holder' formed with asocket to receive a pin or stud projecting from the supporting-bracket, which bracket is provided, at l its lower portion,` with one ormore openings through which the cord is `threaded,`to `form a brake toprevent the.4 cord drawing. too freely from theholder.

This bracket eis provided with holes at f f for the screws g g to attach it to the wall, partition, or other Vvertical surface, and with the ring h, around which the cord from the holder passes.

`The ring portion h projectsslightly beyond the face of the bracket, in order that there maybea space between the iowervpart of the ringiand the surface to which the bracket is attached, to allow the cord to be easily passed through the ring.

More than one of these rings or openings may be Yprovided upon the lowerpart of the bracket e.V .l `By my improvement the twine-holder is reduced to two pieces, the shell and its supporting-bracket, both of which may be cast, and require no hand labor after coming from the mold to adapt them to each other.

I claim as my invention- Y l. The bracket e, having an eye or opening through which the cord is passed, in combination with the twine holder a, that is supported by said bracket, as
