TED STATES PATENT OFFICE...
FREDERICK WM. KIItSCHNIK AND WILLIAM KIRSCI-INIK, OF MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN NON-REFILLABLE BOTTLE.
Application filed July 2, 1913.
To all whom it may concern .7
Be it known that we, FREDERICK WM. KIRSCHNIK and I/VILLIAM KIRSCHNIK, citizens of'the United States, and residents of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Non-Refillable'Bottles, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which are a part of this specification.
This invention relates to improvements in non-refillable bottles.
It is one of the objects of the present invention to more effectually prevent the refilling of bottles with inferior grades of liquids and provide a non-refillable bottle which may be opened and parts or all of the contents emptied therefrom without in any manner permitting the bottle to be refilled.
A further object of the invention is to provide a non-refillable bottle which is of simple construction, is inexpensive to manufacture and is well adapted for the purpose desired.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists of the improved nonrefillable bottle and its parts and combinations as set forth in the \r claims and all equivalents thereof.
In the accompanying drawing in which the same reference characters indicate the same parts in all of the views: Figure 1 is a side view of a bottle provided with the nonrefillable feature, partsbeing in vertical section; Fig. 2 is an inverted View of the cap removed from the bottle; and Fig. 3 is a. side view of the neck of the bottle.
Referring to the drawing thenumeral 8 indicates the improved bottle, 9 the neck thereof and 10 the guard cap which is threaded on the neck. The cap is connected to the bottle by a left-handed thread 11 and the two parts are sealed against separation by plaster of Paris or other material 12. The left-handed thread is provided to deceive the ordinary user who might try to remove the cap and would naturally turn the cap to the left to unscrew the same. 'The bore 13 of the neck is contracted at a point 14 near its upper end to form a valve seat 15 and a valve chamber 16 thereabove to accommodate a solid ball valve 17 of rubber Specification of Letters Patent.

or other yielding material positioned therein.
The upper open end of the bottle is 'covered'by the cap and a discharge opening clined downwardly outwardly from the bot-' tle neck so that the bottle would have to be turned upside down to pour liquid therein and, of course, in this position the bottle could not be refilled, and if placed in an up right position the angularity of the spout would prevent pouring liquid therethrough. The inner portion of the cap is provided with downwardly .projecting guards 22 which serve to prevent the valve from closing the discharge opening 18 when the bottle is tipped to pour out the contents there of. The guards also serve to prevent the entrance of wires for tampering with the valve.
From the foregong description it will b seen that the non-refillable bottle is of simple construction and is well adapted for the purpose desired.
What we claim as our invention is:
A non-refillable bottle, comprising a bottle having a contracted neck portion to form a valve seat and a valve chamber thereabove, a valve within the chamber and resting upon the seat, said bottle also having an opening extending through its upper end side portion, and a cap resting on the upper end of the bottle and secured to the upper end portion of the bottle and having a downwardly apd outwardly inclined spout with its bore in communication with the upper end side opening of the bottle, said cap also having downwardly projecting guards positioned in front of the inner end of the bore of the spout.
In testimony whereof, we affix our signatures, in presence of two witnesses.
FREDERICK WM. KIRSCHNIK. WILLIAM KIRSCHNIK.
