I Cook, State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wardrobe-Trunks, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to that type of wardrobe trunks in which a series of sliding clothes-hangers are disposed at one end of the trunk body, so that when said trunk body is up-ended the clothes supported by said hangers are accessible for ready'removal and replacement. And the present improvement has for its object to provide a simple and eliective combination and arrangement of parts whereby the clothing is compressed and confined in place, when so suspended, and with which the clothing is covered and protected from dust, etc., in a very effective manner, all as will hereinafter more fully appear.

6 is the main curtain attached to the bottom ofthe trunk body 1, adjacent to the hinged end wall 2, and preferably beneath the back rail of the fixed plate member of the hanger track 4, the same affording a convenientand very substantial means of attachment of one end of the curtain to the trunk body. In the present improvement the main curtain 6 extends outward above and beyond the hanger track i, and then downward to near-.the other fixed end wall of the trunk body, to which end wall it is adjustably attached by one or more drawstraps and buckles 7. And the arrangement is such, that with the garment supported in place by means of hangers engaging the hanger-tracks -l as usual, the draw-straps and-buckles 7 can be tightened so as to impart the required tautness to the curtain 6 to compress and hold the garments in place within the main trunk body 1, and at the same time cover over and protect the garments from dust, etc.

In the preferred form of the present invention, as shown, the main curtain 6 is formed with side flaps or extensions 8, which are adapted to be tucked in at the sides of the garments to more elfectively inclose and protect the same from dust. etc. And such inclosure and protection of the garments is additionally attained by means of a'pair of side curtains 9, which are attached at their upper ends to the side walls of the main trunk body 1,preferably beneath the side rails of thefixed plate member of the hanger track 4, and depending therefrom as shown. Said side curtains 9 are adapted to coact with the side flaps or extensions 8 of the main curtain in afi'ording inclosure and protection for the garments.

Having thus fully described my said invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a. wardrobe trunk, the combination of a trunk body having an open end, a

hinged wall associated with said open end, a hanger track secured to the interior-of the trunk body in spaced and fixed relation to said open-end, a'flexible curtain attached at its upper end to the trunk body and extending out over the hanger track and depending from the front of the same, and an ad- I justable draw strap connecting the lower end of the curtain -to the trunk body and pending from the'front o the same, and an adjustable 'draw strap connecting the lower end of the curtain to the trunkbody and adapted to tension said curtain, said curtain being provided with side flaps, substantially as set forth.

3. In a wardrobe trunk, a trunk body having a hinged end wall. and a. hanger track in adjacent relation to said end wall, a main curtain attached at its rear end to the, trunk-body, said curtain extending out over the hanger track and depending from the front of the same, a. draw strap and buckle connectin the free end of the curtain with the mam body of the trunk, and a. pair of side curtains attached at their up'-- per ends to the side walls of the trunk body adjacent to the hanger-track, substantially as set forth.
