Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 3, 1914.
Application filed January 25, 1912. Serial No. 673,371.
To calla-710m it may concern Be it known that 1, Josmn B. CLoUsEn, a citizen ot the United States, residing at Longwood, in the county of Orange and State of Florida, have invented new and useful Improvements in Tables, of which th following is a specification.
This invention relates to the class of tables and more specifically to that class of tables which are provided with revolving centers and known as scl '-waiting tables.
This invention also provides a table which combines a revolving center and a plurality of revolving drawers beneath said centers.
With the foregoing and other objects in view my invention consists in such details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing my invention in detail reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like e or corresponding parts 3 throughout the several views, and in wh1ch:-
Figure 1 is a side elevation of my invention. Fig. 2 is a top plan View of the same.
Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view ofmy invention. Fig. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view taken on line 14 in Fig. 1.
In the drawings 1 designates the top of the table which is supported by a plurality of legs :2, the said legs being provided with the cut-out portions 3 near their upper ends for a purpose that will presently appear. One of the legs 2 has a rod 5 extending upwardly therefrom and adapted to extend through the table top 1 and support a circular member 6 upon its upper end by such means as shown at 7. For the purpose of adding to the operation of the member 6 the rollers 8 are provided which engage the table top 1 and are secured to the said member. Radiating from the center leg 2 are a plurality of arms 9 which arms are secured at their outer ends to the other of the legs 2. The rod 5 has a second circular member 10 revolubly mounted thereon which member carries atits outer ends the rollers 11 which engage the other of the le s 2, whereby the said second member may e eas1ly.rotated.
I further provide a plurality of drawers 12 WhlCll are adapted to be carried by the member 10, the said drawers being provided with the handles 13 as shown.
I desire to point out that the members 6 and 10 may be operated either together or independently of each other. Either operat on may be had without departing from the sp1r1t of my invention. However, I preferably provide means whereby they may be I operated independently.
It will be seen that the fixed top 1 presents an unobstructed and relatively extensive serving area extending around the revoluble top 6, and in close ad acency thereto. Thus a guest could readily reach the revoluble top to turn the same to the desired position, and he would still have room for serving or placin the desired receptacle upon the fixed top. LiIiewise the revoluble drawer structure is placed below the fixed top so that any adjustment of the drawer structure may be readily obtained.
Having thus fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A table comprising a top supported by a plurality of legs, a projection depending downwardly from said top, a cut-out portion in said projection, a pin mounted in one of said supporting legs extending through said projection and said top, a member revolubly mounted on said pin and in said cut-out portion, said member provided with a plurality of drawers, rollers upon the lower surface of said member, a second member revolubly mounted upon said pin above said top, rollers upon the under surface of said member adapted to engage the upper surface of said top, said first named member and said second named member adapted to be rotated either in unison or separately, as desired.
2. A table comprising a top supported by a plurality of legs, one of said legs being centrally located, a projection depending downwardly from said top, a cut-out portion in said projection, a pin mounted in said centrally located legs extending through -said projection and said top, a member revolubly mounted upon said pm and in said cut-out ortion, said member provided with a plur ity of drawers, rollers upon the lower surface of said member, a second member'revolubly mounted upon said pin above said top, and rollers upon the under surface of said member adapted to engage the upper surface of said top, said first named member and said second named memberadapted to be rotated in unisonor separately, as desired.
