To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, MAX Lannn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved indow, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a window of the class in which each sash is movable along a set of arms pivoted to the window frame and adapted to be swung into the room. Such a window is shown and described in Patent No. 9513 12 issued to me March 8th, 1910 and possesses the advantages among others, that it does away with sash weights and coacting parts, may be easily manipulated, alfords thorough ventilation, checks draft or dust, and may be easily cleaned on both sides.
The present invention has reference to various features of construction by which an accurate working of the device is insured, while its construction is simplified, its strength increased and its manipulation facilitated.

At the right and left side of each sash 10, there is pivoted to the window frame 11, a pair of foldable arms 12, which are engaged by rollers 13, turning on the ends of pivots 29 that extend laterally from the sash. In order to secure arm 12 to the window frame, there is provided a face plate 1-1 which is sunk into the jamb and screwed thereto as at 15. Plate 14: is provided with a socket 16 adapted to receive the socketed end 17 of arm 12 which is held thereto by a pivot 18 having a head 19 of pronounced size which is received by socket 17. A stop-pin 20 on plate 14 holds arm 12 in its horizontal position when swung into the room. Each arm 12 is formed of a fiat metal strip, which is upset along both of its longitudinal edges to form a pair of inwardly turned upper and lower flanges 21 that face the same side of the strip. In this way there is formed between the flanges and the body of the Specification of Letters Patent.

strip a pair of longitudinal guide grooves, the edges of the flanges being separated from each other, to form a slot or way, adapted for the accommodation of the pivot 29, while the roller 13 carried by said pivot projects underneath flanges 21. The roller is thus securely guided by the flanges along the arm, while furthermore the width of the latter need not greatly exceed the diameter of the roller. Near its pivoted or outer end, there extends across the arm, back of the flanges 21, an abutment 22, which is preferably arched as shown, and which constitutes a rest for the roller 13 when the arm is swung into its raised position. Thus, as each sash has four rollers 13 one near each corner, the sash when closed will be supported in a firm and reliable manner. At its free or inner end each arm 12 is provided with a latch 23, which is pivoted to the arm at 24, and has a flange 25 that is adapted to be swung across the end of the arm so as to prevent the escape of roller 13. Latch 23 is held in its closed position by means of a small bulge 26 that snaps into a corresponding aperture 27 of arm 12. Whenever the window is to be cleaned, the latches of say its upper arms are swung back, its upper rollers are pulled out of said arms and then the window may be swung down, so that both of its sides become freely accessible.
Each roller 13 is secured to the sash by means of a face plate 28 countersunk into the stile. This face plate is provided with the fixed pivot 29 upon the enlarged head 30 of which the roller 13 is rotatably mounted. The pivots 29 of all those plates 28 which are secured to say the right hand stile, furthermore carry catches 31 that swing on said pivots and are provided with dogs or eccentrics 32 adapted to engage arms 12. \Vhen the catches are swung down, the dogs will become wedged in between plates 28 and flanges 21, so as to securely lock the sash in position.
