Description

Uliritb ne @anni @ffice OLINTON'-W. liR'AZER, OF BROOKLYN, -NEW YORK.
Letters Patent No. 110,615, dated December 27, 1870.
IMPROVEMENT IN FUR-SET .BXES.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
Nature and Objects of my Invention. My invention consists of a box inclosed by a box,
lof paper or other suitable material, arranged together,
as hereafter shown, for the purpose of holding 'a fullset of wearing apparel, known as ladips fur's, without waste of room.
The arrangement in my fur-set box forms a close, convenient,l and compact storage and protection for the above-namedwearing apparel, allowing jnstthe amount of space required to contain a set of ladies furs and no more.
Figure 1 is a plan of the fur-set box with cover removed.
Figure 2 is a vertical. section on line x x.
A is a box, formed of paper or other suitable material, square cr rectangular in form, having a cover, B,Awhich fits closely over it to exclude dust or anything that would be likely to soil the contents.A v
In this squareeor rectangular box is secured, by means of a rivet, screw, or other suitablesmechanical device, a, at one side of the box A, the case C, which may be cylindrical or of any form suitable to the shape of the muli". The rivet-a is intended toA 'secure the case G to one side of the box A, loosely, so that it may stand vertically, horizontally, or atl any inclinal tion within a circle about the rivet. The case C may be closed at one end or not. .The case C tohe sut'- cieutly. deep to completely incase a mul. 4',Ihe box nclosing it should be sufficientlyl wide to admita cape, when folded once, to lie snugly in the space shown in the drawing. There will then be' space sniiicieut on the top of' the mmf-case to accommodate the third piece of fur or boa. -Thespace under the caseO is suicient to accommodate the cape'and support the muli-case in a horizontal position.
I am aware that fur-set boxes have been made and used with a case similar inform to the one in my box, but they have been invariablyxed or secured to the outer box vertically. The peculiar arrangement of my fur-set box utilizes space more completely than that of. any other now in use.
What I claim asmy invention, and in which I desire to be secured by Letters Patent, is
The box A, combined with the case C and suspend-y inff-rivet or screw a, arranged as described, for the b purpose set forth. l
