Description

G. KREUTBR. APPARATUSYFOR' DISINFBOTING THE SEATS OF WATER GLOSETS APPLICATION FILED JUNE 30, 1913.
1,095,891 Y Patented May 5, 1914.
GUSTAV KREUTER, 0F BERLIN, GERMANY.
APPARATUS FOR DISINFECTING THE SEATS OE WATER-CLOSETS.-
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 5, acre.
Application filed June 30, 1913. Serial No. 776,695.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUSTAV KREUTER, a subject of the King of Prussia, German Emperor, residing at Berlin, in the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Apparatus for Disinfecting the Seats of Water- Glosets, of which the following is a specification.
It is common to disinfect the' seat of water closets by providing the inner surface of the lid with a cover which is impregnated with a disinfecting liquid.
This invention relates device which is particularly designed for movable seats. Behind the seat a receptacle for the disinfectant is arranged which has an opening corresponding in shape with the seat and designed to receive the seat when the same is lifted, said opening being automatically closed when the seat is lowered.
In the accompanying vention is shown by way of example b Figure 1 is a front elevation of a water closet with the disinfecting apparatus. Fig. 2-is a side elevation of Fig. 1.
The water closet a has the usual flap seat To the support a of the flap seat a vertical receptacle d is fixed which contains the disinfectant. In the front Wall of this vertical receptacle d an opening 6 is arranged the shape and size of which corresponds with the shape and size of the flap seat I). t In this opening a a fillingplate f is arranged to a disinfecting drawings the inwhich closes said opening if the seat I) is lowered. The seat I) is normally maintained in the lifted position through the action of a spring 9 so that it penetrates into the opening 6 of the receptacle in pushing back the movable cover 1. The seat I) can be lowered by hand in the well known manner or by means of a foot lever. In the latter case the hinge-0f the-seat presents two lateral extensions 12. against which bear from behind the upper ends of two angle levers is pivotally mounted upon a horizontal axle i. The lower horizontal arm of said angle levers are connected at the front end by a foot board j. If a person stands upon said foot board j the seat is at through the action of the angle levers k.
I claim An improved device for disinfecting the seat of water closets comprisin in combi-- nation a casing filled with disinfectant having an open'ing'the shape and size of which corresponds with the shape and size of the seat, means for fixing said casing to the basin of the water closet, and a movable late in said casing which closes the openmgwhen the seat does not engage'with said opening, substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
In'witness 'whereof I have hereunto *set my hand in the presence of two witnesses. i GUSTAV KREUTER. Witnesses:
HENRY HAsrEn, MAURICE Lnronr.
