Description

L. R. H. DICK. WATER CLOSET SEAT. APPLICATION FILED JAN. I6. 1915.
@WLML/ LZ X iNVENTOR ATTORNEY Patented Feb. 4, 1919.
LEVI REESE H. DICK, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
WATER-CLOSET SEAT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 4, 1919.
Application filed January 16, 1915. Serial No. 2,630.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEVI Rnnsn H. DICK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and* the State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Water-Closet Seats, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in water closet seats in connection with which a commode or receptacle is to be used. The objects of my improvement are:
let: To provide a holder for a commode or receptacle, that will firmly hold a commode or receptacle to the underside of a toilet or water-closet seat;
End: To afford facilities for adjusting a commode or receptacle to the underside of a toilet or water-closet seat;
3rd: To construct a metal holder tha may be readily attached to a toilet or watercloset seat.
I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which- Figure 1 is an elevation of the toilet or water-closet seat, partly in section and side elevation of the metal holder, with a commodeor receptacle in place. i
Fig. 2 is a view of the underside of the water-closet or toilet seat, with the metal holder attached, as appears without the commode or receptacle.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The seat A (Fig. l) is a toilet or watercloset seat such as is used for infant chairs and other toilet or water-closets.
The metal holder B is secured to the underside of the seat by means of screws C and washers D. The screws O are of sufli'cient length that by leaving a portion of the same protruding from the seat A, the holder B through which the screws 0 pass will have enough play to permit the placing and removing of the commode or receptacle E, the commode or receptacle E being held in place by its rim F and the metal holder B.
I am aware that prior to my invention toilet or water-closet seats have been made with attachments such as hinges for raising and lowering, but I am not aware that my metal holder for commodes or receptacles has been used.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
The combination with a board having a circular opening therethrough of a clamp on the under side of said board, comprising a rod curved into a circular form and forming more than a semi-circle, the middle part of said rod being coiled to form a spring and said rod having another part between such coil and its free end bent to form a closed loop.
