HOSE-SUPPORTER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
vPatented oct.21,1913.
yApplication led September 7, 1912. Serial No. 719,116.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CLARA E. MA'rrHEs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Joliet, in the county of Will and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Hose-Supporter, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is a locking hose supporter, and the objects of my improvement are to avoid the annoyance and discomfort occasioned, especially with women, when the hose becomes detached from a supporter.
In the accompanyin drawing, the ligure is a perspective view I my device, with the clas raised under resistance.
P ate 1 has a slot 9, 10 and 11 and slots 12 and 13 which are to provide means for attaching band 2 and garter strap 14 to plate 1. Button 3 is integral with clasp 15 which is secured to band 2. The lugs 4 are formed integral with plate 1, and have perforations to receive the trunnions 5 which are secured to or are integral with the clasp 7.
In using the hose-supporter, the button 3 i is placed under the edge of the hose, and by kinkin the band 2, is raised and introduced throng part 11 of the slot 9, 10 and 11, then through part and into part 9, when the clasp 7 is released and the spring 6 automatically forces the clasp 7 down over the button 3 which is passed through the eye 8, thus locking the hose around the button 3.
What I claim is- An automatic locking hose supporter, comprising, a main-piece provided with two transverse slots at one end and a longitudinal slot near the center expanded at its ends; perforated twin lugs formed integral with the other end of said main-piece; a clasp having an opening and pivoted in said lugs; a loop-spring with ends connected to said lugs so as to press inward on said clasp; a band pendent from said main-piece with a button secured to the same, said button adapted to engage the hose and be engaged by said longitudinal slot, and lastly, by the opening in said clasp, the pressure of said sprinV on said clasp locking said hose around said utton.
