In Figs. 4:, 5 and 6 I have shown a modified form of my invention wherein the arms of the supporter 18 are flattened and the extensions 19 formed of a solid flattened piece corresponding in thickness to the thickness of the arms to which they are attached. The interior side of this supporter. like that shown in the other views is shaped to fit the curvature of the collar upon which it is placed. See Fig. 3 where the curvature of the extension 19 is clearly shown.
From the ahove description it will he seen i that I have produced a supporter or stittencr l for the front of the collar which not. only prevents sagging. wrinlt'ling. etc hut is rerr eomtortahlc to the wearer. it possesses other capahilities. the most important of which is its sinrplicitv. therehy redtnziirgth" T cost thereof to a minimum. the ease with which it can he applied to the collar, and the ease w-ith which the individual supporter may he adjusted to the dit't'erent and varieties of collars regardless ot' their height and the distance hetween the ends of the' outer portion. -Another feature ot' prime importai e is the fact that. it does not intcrt'ere in the least with the partieular neck-- tie that is used n eonjunrt'i-m with the collar.
'hile the emhrnliments ot' my invention herein deserihed and shown on the annexed drawing are the pret'el'red torms it is to he understood that i do not limit n'l vselt to the 5 exact'structures shown as the dettice is "apahle. of being emhodied into otherforms without, in any way deviating from. the true spirit and scope of 1n invention.
that I claim is:
1. In a collar of the turn-over type having an inner neck-hand portion and an outer tlap portion said outer portion being in turned-over position. pockets on the inside of the outer flap portion at the ends thereo't'. and a device ln'idn'in; the spaee hetween the ends of the outer flap portion when the latter is in normal position on the neck of the wearer said device having means: engaging said pockets for maintainin;- the collar in normal position.
in a collar of the turn-over type having an inner lltft'li hand portion and an outer tlap portion, pockets on the inside of the outer tlap portion adjacent the ends thereot and means for maintaining the collar in normal position comprising a suhstantialtv V-shaped member having arms the ends of which are adapted to engage with said pockets when the collar is in the turn-o\'er positzon. said memher hridgmf: the spare hetwt-en the end of the outer ttap portion with the apex thereof extending upwardtv in proximity to the fold ot said collar, sultstantially as deserihed.
