MAX PRICE, 01* NEX EA GLE, PENNSYLVANIA.
ANTIREFILLABLE BOTTLE.
Specification of Application filed November 6, 1912.
Letters Patent- QPatentetl July 22, 1913.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, MAX Paton, a citizen" or the United-States of America, residing at New Eagle, in the county of 'Va-shington I and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Antirefillable Bottles of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to anti-refillable bottles, and my invention aims to eliminate I the nefarious practice of unscrupulous mer- I chants in refilling bottles or receptacles that once contained a popular brand with an inl fcrior grade and dispensing the same the original article. This practice is prevalent in a great many trades and very often botl tles that once contained a. poison are used for l other purposes resulting in the loss of life.
My invention further aims to provide a simple. durable and inexpensive bottle that cannot be completely emptied without disfiguring the bottle to that extent that the disfiguration will be noticeable and apparent to a person. using the bottle.
My invention will be hereinafter specifically des ribed. and then claimed and retcrence' will now be had to the drawing, wherein Figure 1 is av side elevation of a bottle in accordance with this invention, Fig. a similar view partly broken away and partly in section, and Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional 'viciv'of the bottle.
An anti-refillable bottle in accordance with this invention comprises a receptacle 1 having a breast .2 provided with a neck 3. liornicd integral with the upper end of the ncclr 3 is a closure- 1 and adjacent to said I closure the neck 3 has an annular exterior I groove 5 that permits of the neck being easily I broken to remove the closure 4. The re 1 moval of the closure 4 disli ures tli e bottle to that extent that it can be easily detected.
, by the neck Formed integral with the breast 2 of the bottle is a curved tube (5 that extends into the receptacle and has the inner end thereof closed, as at. 7, and the sides of the tube provided with openings 8. The outer end of the tube protrudes from the breast of the bottle and has a seat 9 for a stopper 10.
In practice the stopper is removed when the bottle is to be filled, and is also removed when a portion of the contents of the bottle is to be obtained; it being only possible to" obtain about two-thirds of the contents thereof through the tube 6. When itis desired to obtain the entire contents of a bottie the closure t is broken off from the neck 3 and contents discharged. v
The bottle illustrated has been cited just as an example of one kind of receptacle that can be constructed in accordance with this invention, and I would have it understood that the invention is susceptible to such changes as fall within the scope of the appended claim.
hat I claim is I- An anti-refillable bottle comprising a body portion having a closed bottom, a neck in teg'ral with said body portion and provided with an integral imperforatc closure where-- is sealed an inwardly extendinn depending curved tube formed integral in proximity to its outer end with the breast of said body portion and having a. closed inner end and an open outer end, said tube in proximity to said closed inner end formed with side openings, and a stopper detachably mounted in the outer end of said tube.
Intestimonv whereof I attlx my signature in the presence of two witness-e MAX PRICE.
Witnesses John H. Evans, JOHN WHITAKER.
