JOHN WILLIAM ANDERSON, OF HAMILTON, ONTARIO, CANADA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- HALF TO ALLITH MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LIMITED, OF HAMILTON, CANADA.
DOOR-HANGER.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN WILLIAM AN- DERsoN, of the city of Hamilton, in the county of Wentworth, in the Province of Ontario, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door-Hangers, of which the following is the specification.
My invent-ion relates to improvements in door hangers and the object of the invention is to devise a simple and effective door hanger for sliding doors in which means is provided for lateral movement of the door relatively to the hanger whereby the same is slid along in front of the frame but designed to be inserted therein when in a closed position.
My invention consists of a door hanger having a turned over upper end into which a wheel is journaled, a plate hinged to one side of the lower portion of the hanger and a plate designed to be suitably secured to the door and hinged at one side to the other side of the plate hinged to the hanger, all as hereinafter more particularly described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which,
Figure 1, is a perspective view from the inside of the hanger showing the door in dotted lines. Fig. 2, is a similar view to Fig. 1 showing the hinged portion partially extended to the posit-ion it would preferably occupy when the door is in a closed position. Fig. 3, is a side view of the lower portion of the hanger and the hinged portion. Fig. l, is a cross section through the lower portion of the hanger.
Like letters of reference represent corresponding parts in the difierent views.
1 is the hanger having a turned over upper port-ion 2 into which a suitable wheel 3 is journaled on the spindle 4.
5 is an inwardly projecting lug below the wheel designed to prevent the same from jumping the track.
6 is a plate hinged at one side 7 to one Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed February 7, 1912.

Serial No. 675,932.
side of the lower portion of the hanger, and the other side 8 being hinged to a plate 9 designed to be secured to the door 10 and having holes 11 in the same through which bolts 12 extend from the inside of the door and having the nuts 13 threaded thereon.
14 are apertures in the plate 6 and in the hanger 1 to permit the bolt and nuts 12 and 13 respectively to extend therethrough thus allowing the plates to lie flat against one another.
From the above description it will be seen that the door may he slid along exteriorly of the frame and then pushed into the same when in a closed position, the hinged plates on the hanger opening a requisite extent.
Many modifications may be made in the invent-ion without departing from the spirit of the same or the scope of the claim and the form shown is to be taken in an illustrative and not in a limiting sense. For instance I do not wish to confine myself to the present form of hinged plate as any suitable hinged arrangement will do equally as well.
What I claim as my invention is In a combined door hanger and hinge, a rectangular body portion having an overturned end portion, a wheel journaled between said overturned portion and body port-ion, an inwardly projecting lug beneath said wheel, a plate pivotally connected to one of the side edges of the rectangular body portion, a second plate pivot-ally connected to said first mentioned plate to form a hinge, the same being of a width practically corresponding to that of the said body portion, said second mentioned plate being provided with openings, and means passed through the openings for securing the hinge to a door.
