The lower part of the outer leg D is connected to .the upper parts of the two inner legs B by the counecting-rodsE, the e'ncls of which are pivoted-,to the y said legs B D.

The legs B'D, seat O, and rods E are so arranged that, when not required for` use, the stool may be folded up against the front of the counter, as shown in fig. 2, so as to he entirely out of the way.

To. the inner side of the upper endcf the leg D is attached a spring, F, which catches upon a perforated y plate, G, or other catch attached to the coun-ter A, to

hold rthe stool in position when folded.

The tool, as thus constructed, is strong and' sub stanti-al when extended for use, and, when folded up, lies close to the counter, so as` to be entirely out ot' the way, leaving the floor entirely unobstructed.
