Be it known that I, HARRY H. S'rEBINs,

` a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Oelwein, in the county of Fayette and State of Iowa, have inventedcertain new and useful Improvements in Clothes-Pin Holders, of which the following is a full. clear, and exact descripti'on.

This invention relates to clothes pin holders for use in connection with laundry work, and has reference more particularly to a device of this class which comprises, a frame having 44,means for holding a plurality of clothes pins ready and available for immediate use, and means for supporting the frame from the person of the user.

An object of the invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive and durable holder for clothes pins of different types, which is compact in form and light in weight, which can be easily supported upon the person ofthe user, thus leaving both hands free for the operations of hanging 'up or taking down clothes with respect to clothes lines or the like, which, when adjusted to the person of the user will not readil shift its position or be otherwise displace and in which the clothes pins are held in place, ready and available for immediate use.

A further object of the invention is to provide ,a device of the class described which can be fashioned from sheet metaly or any other suitable material, and which presents a surface adapted to have printed or otherwise produced thereon advertising matter or the like.

The invention consists in the construction and combination qof parts to be more fully described hereinafter and particularly set forth in the claims. l Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding partsl in,`all t-he views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view showing an embodiment of my invention: Fig. 2 is a transverse section on the line 2'-2 of Fig. 1: Fig. 3 is an enlarged, fragmentary section showing in detail the connection of the bars to the frame; and Fig. 4 is a similar view showing in detail the way the belt engages the casing'.

Before proceeding to a more detailed explanation lof my invention it shouldl be clearly understood that the device may be fashioned from any suitable material; preferably sheet metal, and can be roduced in various sizes to accommodate di erent numbers of clothes pins. It is designed to be strapped to the waist of the user, by means of a belt of leather or webbing, or the like. I prefer to employ a belt of webbing, which can be readily detached from the vframe and washed when necessary. y

The device is so constructed that, as is shown in Fig. 1, clothes pins of different types can be held therein with equal facility.

Certain of the details of 4construction shown for example herewith, form no part of the invention, and can be varied in accordance with individual preference and special conditions, without departing from the underlying spirit of the invention.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, I .provide an open frame l0, having a front 11, a back 12, and sides or ends 13; all preferably integral. The back 12 is concave or rounded so that it will fit comfortably at the waist of the user 4of the device, and con'- form to the person. The back has near the ends, spaced, vertical slots 14 through which passes the belt 15. This may be of any suitable length, and has the usual buckle 16, by means of which it can be adjustably fastened. The lback 12, at the inner edges of the slots is provided with inwardly disposed flanges 17 which contact with the strap and prevent its accidental displacement when the device is in use. The ianges 17 are preferably formed by punching or stamping out the metal in forming the slots or openings 14.

Extending longitudinally of the frame, between the ends 13 thereof, is a plurality of clothes pin supporting bars 18 consisting of inverted V-shaped channel members fashioned fromsheet'metal strips bent into form along a substantially central line. The ends 13 have formed therein substantially triangular openings 19 proportioned to receive the extremities of the bars 18, which iit snugly therein. The bars have at the projecting ends, `laterally disposed flanges 20, bent back against the ends 13, so that the bars are firmly secured in place. The clothes pins 21 or 22 are mounted upon the bars as is clearly shown'in Fig. 1, in preferably vertical position, and ready for immediate use. The triangular 'or tapered cross-sectional form of the bars insures that the clothes pins remain secured in place thereon, clamping upon the bars exactly as though upon a clothes line.` Consequently, the clothes pins will not be displaced or fall fronrthe'holder should the user stoop, or bend from one side to the other 1n hanging up lTor taking down laundry.
