To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM D. SMAIL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Billiard-Cue Tip, of whichthe following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improvement in billiard cue tips.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a tip securing device which may be readily positioned on the one and which will hold the tip against displacement.
W1th the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter de scribed and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed can be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

With the parts in this position, it will be noted that the device may be forced on the one that the wedge 22 will enter the opening 21, enlargingthe same and forcing the one in contact with the tip engaging members, thus locking the fastener on the cue.
It will be noted that in removing the fastener to replace a tip which has become worn, the tip may be cut and withdrawn from between the tip engaging members 12 and 14 and the wedge 22 removed, thus allowing the sleeve to be slipped off of the reduced extension of the cue.
The many advantages of a device of this character will be clearly apparent as it will be noted that the same provides an effective tip retaining device which may be readily attached to the cue, attention being called to the fact that the device is such as may be easily and economically manuilactured.
What is claimed is 1. A tip fastener for billiard cues, consisting of sectional tip engaging means, a sleeve embracing said means, and means for expanding the tip receiving end of the cue to hold the tip engaging means in contact with the tip.
A. tip fastener for billiardcues, consisting of a sectional tip engaging sleeve, the sections of. said sleeve being formed with tip engaging flanges, a sleeve embracing said sectional sleeve, and a wedge arranged with the sleeve for expanding the one, said wedge being n-ovided with a head which contacts with the tip when the sleeves are arranged on. the cue.
3. A tip fastener for billiard cues, consisting of a sectional tip retaining sleeve. a sleeve embracing said sectional sleeve, a wedge for expamling the tip receiving end of the cue to hold the sections of said sleeve in engagement with the tip.
