-ful Improvements in Articles of Wearing- Apparel, of which the following isa full, clear, concise, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, vforming 'a part of this specification.

My invention relates to 'wearing apparel and contemplates an improved form of shirt particularly for the use of those who devote themselves to considerable physical exertion. The garmentof -my invention is novel 1n that it involves the combination of parts intended to meet. the strains and wear due to physical exertion, without interfering with the responsiveness thereof to the movement o'f the body, and Ventilating means in the armpits Where these precautionary provi- Vsions are made.

a' pair of sleevesl therefor, a plurality of ventilating openings in said body under the arm-pits, a pair of crescent shaped reinforcing pieces disposedv under the arm-pitsfand extending up to the shoulders in front and back, a plurality of ventilating openings in said reinforcing pieces corresponding to the Ventilating openings in said body, said reinforcing pieces being stitched to the body with the ventilating openings in said reinforcing pieces-registering `with the'ventilating openings in the body, and buttonhole stitching oveicasting said body and reinforcing pieces atvsaid ventilating'openings to keep said ventilating openings in alineinent.
