To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHESTER ADELBERT LATHAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wichita, in the county of Sedgwick and State of Kansas, have invented a new and useful WVindow-Bracket, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in window brackets for holding window shades and lace curtains, and the objects of my invention are 1st to provide a window bracketthat can be attached to any window casing without screws or nails and be held firmly in olace. that will adapt itself to any length of shade or curtain pole. 3d, to provide a window bracket that can be used on either side of the window. 4th, to provide a window shade and lace curtain bracket that will hold the shade and curtain poles firmly. 5th, to provide a window bracket that can be raised or lowered at will. I obtain these objects by the combination of the several parts illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

The diiferent parts of the figures are illustrated by letters and the letters prime; the letters prime means the same parts or letters but in different positions.

Figure l is a perspective view of the device, and Fig. 2 is a similar view of the clamping elements in separated position, in which A, is an elbow containing slot E, which extends from a point near one end of said elbow to a point near the bend of said elbow, J-J, are similar notches on each edge for holding the ends of the window shade fixtures and K, is an open ring formed out of the opposite end of said elbow for curtain pole.

B, is an elbow in which a slot extends from a point near one end, to a point near the bend in said elbow.

H, I, are hooks formed out of the opposite end of elbow B.

O, is an elbow with a set screw hole and a thumb screw hole containing set screw Gr and thumb screw D.

L, is a band supporting the parts opposite 2nd, to provide a window bracket Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to cover by Letters Patent,

1. In a reversible window bracket the combination of a rear, a middle and a front plate, each formed into an elbow, the rear plate having one end,of the elbow formed into an arm extending to the rear of the bracket with a threaded hole near the end of the arm, and a threaded hole in the center of the other arm of the elbow; the middle plate having one end of the elbow formed into an arm extending to the rear, with the end of this arm scalloped out and bent in and formed into two hooks and the other end of this elbow having a longitudinal slot, extending from a point near the end to a point near the bend of this elbow; the front plate having one end of the elbow formed into an arm extending to the front with the end of this arm formed into an open ring and a notch in each edge of this arm, between the ring and the bend in the elbow; the other arm of the elbow having a longitudinal slot extending from a point near the end of this arm to a point near the bend in the elbow; and means for fastening the several parts together substantially as described.

2. In a reversible window bracket the combination of one long and two shorter plates, each formed into an elbow, and each elbow having a long and a short arm; one of the short plates having a thumbscrew near the end of its short arm and the short arm extending to the rear, and a setscrew in the center of the long arm of this elbow; the other short plate having the end of the short arm scalloped out and bent inward, forming two hooks, with a longitudinal slot extending from a point near the end of the long arm to a point near the bend in the elbow; the long plate having the end of the short arm formed into an open ring with a notch on each edge of the arm between the ring and bend in the elbow; the other arm of this plate having a longitudinal slot extendingfrom a point near the end of the arm to a point near the bend of the elbow; and means for holding the several parts together substantially as described.

3. In a reversible window bracket the combination of a front plate that is formed into an elbow with one arm of the elbow shorter than the other, the end of the short arm formed into an open ring with a notch on each edge between the ring and bend in the elbow, the long arm having a longitudinal slot extending from a point near the end to a point near the bend in the elbow, the short arm extending to the front; a middle plate which is formed into an elbow with one arm of the elbow shorter than the other, the short arm extending to the rear of the bracket, the end of the short arm scalloped out and bent inward, and formed into two hooks, the long arm of this elbow having a longitudinal slot extending from a point near end of the arm to a point near the bend in the elbow, the longitudinal slot in the middle plate registering with the slot in the front plate; a back plate formed into an elbow with one arm shorter than the other, the short arm extending to the rear with a thumbscrew at a point near its end, the long arm having a setscrew at a point in the center of the long arm of the back plate, the setscrew registering with the slot in the front and middle plates; and means for retaining the three plates in position substantially as described.
