With these and 'other ends in view which will readily appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the improved construction ,and novel arrangement and combination o parts which will be hereinafter fully described and particularly pointed out in the claim.

In the accompanying drawing has been illustrated a simple and preferred form of the invention, it being, however, understood that vno limitation is necessarily made to the precise structural details therein exhibited,l` but that changes, alterations and modificationswithin'the scopeofthe claim may be resorted to when desired..`

In the drawing-Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the tionally hot weather, the receiver casing and the` cap thereof shrink .to such an extent that the threaded connection between said parts becomes'loose, it has been customary to discard the casing and to provide a new one. By this invention, after removing the cap, the" mandrel is placed within the casing, which latter is previously preferably heated byholding it over a lamp or in any-other convenient manner. By tightening the expanding screw, Athe mandrelwill now be expanded within the' casing, which latter will be correspondinglyexpanded to the requisite dimensions to enable the'cap'to be restored andA to fit snugly on 4 whereby the parts or members of the mandrel are connected will permit said mandrel to expand to any required extent, but the parts will be kept assembled so that no one part will be readily lost oi' displaced.

. The cylindrical portion of the mandrel by fitting against and engaging the shouldered portion .10 of the casing enables the mandrel torbeexp'anded without, displacing it upwardly and outwardly from the casi-ng, as ,will be understood. 4
