UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE S. PETRI, OF NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.
CARD-HOLDER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Gnonon S. PE'LRI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Nashville, in the county of Davidson and State of Tennessee, have invented new and useful Improvements in Card-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful devices for holding display cards and the object of the invention is the provision of an article of this class which is of an ex tremely simple construction, which may be readily supported either upon the article displayed or the container therefor and which will hold the card in any desired position upon the article or container.
With the above object in view, the invention resides in the novel construction of card display holders hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the accoi'npanying drawings there have been illustrated card holders constructed in accordance with the present invention.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating one form of the device, the same being shown in position upon the box or container and a display card being shown in position upon the holder. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view of the device.
Referring to the drawing in detail the numeral 1 designates the holder. This holder is constructed of a single strand of bendable wire and comprises a foot 2 from which are extended spaced rightangular parallel arms 3. These arms are centrally formed with oppositely arranged outwardly curved bulging portions I, the said bulging portions adapted to serve as a. means whereby the holder may be supported upon a stud, button or the like. The arms 3 are provided with oppositely extending members 5, the same being arranged at a rightangular plane Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed February 7, 1911.

Serial No. 607,128.
with relation to the side arms oi the foot 2. The members 5 are coiled upon themselves to provide the loops 6 and the end convolutions of these loops are bent down wardly to provide the sustaining members T hose members or arms 8 are arranged in a plane substantially parallel with the members or arms 3, but are positioned a suitable distance away from the said arms, and the said members 8 extend below the foot 2, the said extending portions being sharpened to provide means whereby the device may be readily sustained upon a box, package or the like. The foot 2-, it will be noted serves not only as a support but also as a means for limiting the insertion of the arms 8 within the box or the like. The loops 6 provide means whereby a display card 7 may be sustained upon the holder.
Having thus described the invention what I claim is A card holder constructed from a s ngle strand of wire and including a pair of spaced parallel arms having their ends sharpened, the said arms being bent upon themselves to provide each a plurality of card engaging loops, the lower and end convolution of each of the loops being ex tended at a right angle to the arms and toward each other, and then bent at an angle and in a plane parallel with each other and with the first named arms, the said parallel members being further bent to provide a right angular U-shaped foot, and the said foot being arranged at a distance away from the sharpened ends of the first named arms.
In testimony whereof I ailix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
