ln accordance with my invention I provide at the inner side of the vertical wall 10, or other like part, ad'aoent to the roof level a duplex flashing block composed of two members, to Wit, the main body member 18 and the connter-Hashing member 19. Said dashing block is embodied in the Wall structure and is arranged With its inner face flush or substantially so with the inner face of the Wall. The duplex flashing block may be made of concrete, terra cotta or other suitable durable material. The main body 18 of the duplex dashing;r block may be built in the Wall or like part at the time of the erection of the latter. It comprises n vcrtical portion 2O and an overhnnging. horizontal portion Q1. and is formed between the vertical and horizontal portions with :i re- 22 that is :shaped to receive the counter- {lushing member 19; the Suid main and counter-flashing members being constructed to.

lf it. be desired to repair the joint or con neeton het een the roof and the Walhor if it he desired for any other purpose t0 yremove the counter flashing member, when made en integral, separately aipplied part, smid member muy be removed by removing the thickened portion or rib 40' of the roof. Thereupon said member may be readily re'- moved to afford access t0 the counter Hashing strips und the tiashngends 0f the foundation strips.

The. eonstruetion described joint and one. which is entirely weather proof to protect the foundation strips from the action of the weather at the junction of the roof and wall.

lt to be understood that. the details of the construction of the device are capable @if variation within the spirit and scope of the invention and that the invention is not limited to such details except as imposed by the prior art.

I claim as my invention l. A roof construction embracing, in combination with a roof including roofing strips, a vert-ical wall or member formed at the roof level with a recess to receive the flashing ends of the said strips, said recess having` its lower wall substantially flush with the surface of the roof, and a flashing block fitted in said recess and between which and the bottom of the recess the flashing ends of said strips are confined.

2. A roof construction embracing, in combination with a roof includin roofing strips, a vertical wall or member ormed at the roof level with a recess to receive the flashing ends of Said strips, said recess having'its lower wall substantially flush with the surface of the roof, a flashing block fitted in said recess and between whlch and the bottoni of the recess the flashing ends of the strips are confined, the upper side of the recess being undercut to interfity with the upper side of the flashing block.

l. A roof construction embracing, in combination with a roof including roofing strips, a vertical wall or memberformcd at the roof level with a recess to receive the flashing ends of said strips, said recess having its lower wall substantially ush with the surface of the roof, a flashing block fitted in said recess and between which and the bottom of the recess the flashing ends of the strips are confined, the upper side of the recess being undercut to interfit with the upper side of the flashing block, and means to engage the lower side of said block for the purpose set forth.

4. A roof construction embracing, in combination with a composition roof including foundation strips, a vert-ical wall or member formed with a recess to receive the flashing ends of said strips, and a flashing block fitted in the recess and between which and the bottom of t-he recess the flashing ends ofthe strips are confined, the upper side of the recess bein undercut to interfit the upper side of tie flashing block, a surface layer of roofing material covering said strips said surface layer being thickened at the lower outer side of said block to constitute a key, for the purpose set forth.
