Specification of Letters latent.
Application filed December 11, 1911. Serial No. 664,930.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR E. WEST- BURG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jamestown, in the county of Chautauqua and 'State of New York, have invented cer- 'as shown in this specification and the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claims. I

The numeral 10 designates the handle to which the clampin jaws 12 and 13 are at-- tached by means 0 a ferrule or hollow tip 1-1.- The ferrule 11 is preferably a continuation of the clamping jaw 12 so that said jaw extends out stittly from the end of the handle 10. p
The jaw I3 of the clamp is formed with a pair of arms 15 which extend each side of the neck of the jaw 12 and are pivotally attached thereto at- 11. -A wire link 16 extends through the ends of the arms 15 and along each side of the handle 10 to a clamping lever 17. The lever 17 is preferably made of sheet metal and pivotally attached on opposite sides of the handle 10 to a slidably mounted sleeve 18 by means of trunnions 19, suitable lugs being provided on the semi-circular end of the lever 17 for attaching to trunnions 19. The link 16 is given a sufiicient clearance around said trunnions so as to work freely back and forth over the same.

A device of the class described comprising a handle, a jaw attached to said handle, a second jaw pivotally attached across the first jaw to give a leverage, ratche't teeth on said handle, a sleeve slidably mounted on said handle having a slot .to receive said ratchet teeth, a pawl pivotally mounted on said sleeve to engage said ratchet teeth, a
