Description

FLY MATURE@ APPLIOATXON FlLBD APR.13.1911.
Eatented July 9, 1912.
ff Q i e s ol i i i www .CARL THEVIE, OF ZEITZ, GERIEANY FLY-CATCHER.
Specification of Letters atent.
Patented J To all 'w71 om it' may concern.'
Be it known that l. CARL THIEME, o citi- Aen of the Empire oi Germany, residing at Zeitz, in the Prussian Province of Saxony, lilinpire of Germany, have invented a new and useful Fly-Catcher, ot' which the following is a specification.
' lilly invention consists of it box, t cover, e. coiled strip coated With paste and fastened with one end at the box and with the other end et the cover, and an elastic disk secured :it the lower end of the box. The coated strip can be drawn out like o telescope and the device can then be either'llung up or placed on o support. lVhen it is to be suspended, the elastic shallow disk is preferably turned up so as to catch any paste, that nmy run off the coiled strip. V/ hen the flycntcher is placed on o table, the elastic disk is turned down, so that its edge Will bear on the trible and thus support the Whole device.
l .vill now proceed to describe iny invention with reference to the accompanying drawing, in wliicli Figure l is a vertical longitudinal section through the fly-catcher drawn out and hung np, Fig. 2 is on elevation otl the seme when olnced on soine support, and Fig. 3 is an `:lovotion 4of the fly-catcher When closed.
"iniilzir charactersoi:i reference refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The vfly-cz` cher consists of an elastic disk l, :i cylindrical box 2, zt coiled strip 3 end. a cover 4l. All these parts may be mede from any suitable materiel. rthe disk l is secured et the lower end ot' the box 2 in any desired manner, e. g. by means of at flange 5 glued or soldered to the box. The disk is shallow and elastic, so that it con lie-turned np into the position shown at Fig. l or turned down into the position illustrated et lliig. 0." The coiled strip fastened with one end in any desired manner on the inside of the box 2 and with its other end to some part 6 at the inside of the cover 4L. The strip is coated with e. suitable peste for catching flies. As is shown in Figs. l and 2, the coiled strip 3 een be drawn out like e. telescope, and it can be pushed into the box 2, which can be closed by the cover 4;. W here so preferred, the disk l may be con nected with the cover fl by mea-ns of e cord 7 or the like, whereby the extension of the coiled strip 8 is limited. The two ends of the cord 7 man be connected with the disk l and the cover e respectively in any desired manner. The cover el; is provided in its eenter with e loop 8, by which device can be hung on some per3f 9. in case the ly-catcher is thus suspended, the disk l is prefere-bly turned up, es shown at Fig. l, so that it can catch any paste dripping` from the coiled strip 3. L the ly-catcherhowever is placed on sone table or support, the disk l first turned down, see Fie: 2, so that its edge Will beer on the table :ind support the Whole device.
The ily-catcher can be varied in many respects Without departing from the spirit of my invention. The disk l, may be orneinented, s o`es to look like a mushroom or the like.
ll claim:
