IMPROVEMENT IN PLOWS.
Specificationy forming part of Letters Patent No. 102,789, dated May 10, ISTO.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDREW F. EPPEs, of Stony Greek, in the county ot' Sussex and State of Virginia, have invented a. new and Improved Plow; Iuid I dohereby declare that the following is a full, clear, und exact description of the construction and operation of the same, rei'erence being hud to the Atcompanying-druwings, making a prt of this specitication, in which- Figure 1 is u front elevation with the twowinged share in place, the others being removed; and Fig. 2 is a side elevation with the one-winged share, and Fig. 3 is an elevation of the share d. f
This invention consists of sundry improvements in the construction of plows, whereby they are rendered more usel'ul in operation.
In the drawings, A isthe plow-stock, attached at its top to one side ofthe plow-beam, and provided with an offset, a, which brings it directly beneath the plow-beam,so that a. brace, a', may be extended straight back from the stock to the plow-handles. I use, one at a time, three shares, d, for simply turning mfurrow, e, provided with one wing, e, for throwing dirt to one side, and h, provided with two wings, L li', for throwing direct to lboth sides. The shares are used in conjunction with the drill-point c, and are attached by bolts and nuts to the stock A just below`the offset.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new7 and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
'lhe stock A, madewith an offset, a, and brace a', all in one piece, in combination with the root-cutter b or d, drill-point c and cutter c, und adjustable hinged share i or h', in the manner und for they purpose described.
