vDI MEDIO, a subject of the Kingof Italy, residing at Camden, in thecounty Aof Camden and State of New Jersey, have invented-certain newand useful Improvements in Phonographic- Disk Cabinets, of which the` following is a i specification.

My invention'relates to improvements in phonographic disk cabinets, and more par-v ticularly. to a combined table and cabinet which is ornamental 'and attractivevin .appearance, which entirely incloses the records, and'which gives the general-appearance of atable. i

A further object is to-provide a device of this character which 4will support a' relaf tively large number ofrecords' in convenient position,.so that they,may be readily removed and returned without injuring the record.

. invention consists in certainv novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts, as willv be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claims. -f

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1, is a View in vertical transverse section-illustrating my improvements ins-closed position. Fig. 2, is a fragmentary view similar to Fig. 1 showing one disk holder open. Fig. 3, is a view in horizontal section on the line 3-3 of Fig; 2 showing both disk'holders, empty. Fig. 4, lis adetail view of oneof' the spring hinges, and Fig. 5, is a fragmen' tary view in vertical section illustrating the manner of locking the hinged disk holder.

My improved device comprises a body 1,' which consists of ornamental ends connected by a top 2, and a central bottom bar 3. To this vbottom bar 3, disk holders 4 are connected by spring hinges 5, and these disk holders conform to the general curvature and outline of the ends, whereby abody of similar contour throughout is' formed to give the general appearance of a bon-like table. The said body is supported upon ornamental legs .6, and its general shape may be varied to suit thetrade.

The disk holders 4 are curved so as to conform approximately to the shape of a phonograph record disk 7, andthey are each divided by partitions 8 into t"longitudinal series of disk compartments.`In the bottom of each compirtment, an ejector 9 is located,

and is pivotally'supported near its forward end as shown at 10, andV .provided at its forward end with a finger hold 1l. A spring .12 normallyholds the disk holder elevated,

and cushions the disk asit is dropped intof' its compartment, the weight lof said-disk causing'the spring to be flattened as shown .in Fig. 1. The spring is therefore just suiiiciently strong to prevent a jar when the disk falls onto the ejector.. the catch 13 will be moved downwardly beveled faces ofthe block 14, so that against the action of its spring 22, so as to release the catch and permit the disk holder to .fall to 'open position. This fall of the disk holder is cushioned by the spring hinges 5,`which serve also to -counterbalance the weight of the disk holder, and assist in closing the same. To facilitate theloperation of the several" ejectors, the finger holds 11 are arranged witheach alternate finger hold shorter yet higher than the others, as illustrated most clearly in Figs. 1 and 3. This enables the foretinger to be readily placed upon the inger hold and force outtlre disk desired. i

The device is therefore designed as an ornamental piece ot furniture, which will serve the function 'of a table, and will contain in convenientnlffeach, a number of pho-. nographic records any one of which may' Vbe easily and quickly removed without disturbing the others, and which hides the records and 'rotects them from dust and dirt when they are inclosed in the cabinet.
