Application filed November 15, 1911. seem No. 660,429.
slip share, wherein the share may be readily removed from the mold board and landside bar and attached thereto. 7
This invention embodies certain improvements over the structure shown in my former Patent No. 685,813 issued March 7, 1911. v
'Ihe invention consists of certain novel arrangements and constructions of the various parts as will be hereinafter fully described, the'invention being illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a perspective .view of a portion of a plow embodying the present invention, parts being shown in dotted lines and parts broken away. Fig. 2-is a rear elevation thereof. Fig. 3 is a-perspective view of the share as removed. Fig. 4 is a fragmental perspective of a detail.
Referring in detail to the drawing, wherein similar reference characters indicate similar parts, the mold board is designated as 1 and a landside bar is designated as 3, the
the mold board. An angle plate 16 is secured to the'forward end of the landside bar 3 and the mold board 1, the said plate having a projecting nose 15. A plate 9 is secured to the mold board 1 on the back thereof and has the intermediate portion thereof reduced in width'and crimped to form a keeper 11. A heel brace 10 is secured at its ends to the rear end of the landside bar 3 and to the rear end of the mold board 1 and has the latter end 4 projecting beyond the I An arm 2, preferably corrugated along its I length, is securedto the back ofthe share 7 and has a-tongue 5 struck from the free end thereof and bent back to form an eye, and a lip 18 struck from the inner end of the arini link 14 is pivoted to the arm 2 by means of thetongue 5. t The share inbeing attached to the mold board and landside bar res-ts or bears against the forward endof the mold board and the landside gunnel 8 bears against the forward end of the landside bar, the hook 6 engaging over the nose 15 which fits between the share and gunnel and the arm 2 fitting between the angle plate 16 and the projection 4 in the back of the mold board. The projection 4 engages the back of the share 7 and the lip '18 engages over the angle plate 16 and in this manner the share is securely locked to the mold board'and landside bar against lateral displacement, and the link 14: is adapted to be swung over the keeper 11 to be engaged thereto. A wedge or cutter pin 17 is insertible into the keeper 11 to securely lock the link 14: in position and retain the share inposition. Todetaoh the share, it is therefore only'necessary to remove the wedge or cotter pin 17 whereby the' link 14 may be disengaged from the keeper 11 to permit the share to be slipped forwardly, the hook 6 disengaging from the nose 15 and the arm 2 moving from between the projection & and the angle plate 16. In this manner it will be seen that the share may be readily detached and attached to the mold board and landside bar in a convenient, simple and efiicient manner.
What is claimed as new 1s:
1. In a plow, the"combinat-ion with a mold board, a'landside bar, and an angle plate attached to the mold boardand'thelandside bar and haying a projecting nose, of a share having a landsidegunnel, and a hook bent inward fromthe gunnel, the nose of the said plate fitting between the share and thegunnel and engaged by "the said hook, and means for connecting the share and mold board. I
2. In a plow, the combination with a mold board, a landside bar, an angle plate attached to-the landside' bar and ithe mold board, and a projection from the mold board, of a share having a landside gunnel,
engaging in back of...the share, and means.
for connecting the said arm to the mold board.
3. In a plow, the combination with a mold board, a lands ide bar, and aikeeper secured to the mold board, of a share having a landside gunnel, an arm secured to the share fitting in backof the mold board, a link .pivl
o ted to the said arm and engageable over the keeper, and a. Wedge insertible in the keeper toretain the link in position.
4. In a plow, the combination with a mold board, a landside bar, an .angle plate at tached to the landside bar and the mold board, and having a projecting nose, a proa landside gunnel and a hook bent inwar from the gunnel, the nose of the said plate fitting between the share and gunnel and engaged by the said hook, an arm secured to .the share fitting between the said projection and angle plate, the said projection engagingin back of the share, a link pivoted to the said arm and engageable over the said keeper, and a wedge insertible in the keeperto retain the link in position.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto afli'xed my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
