Application filed July To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MICHAEL GLUGKMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county and State-of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boxes for Folding Papers, of which the following is a clear, full, and exact description.

This invention relates to a package containing paper in separate leaves, there being more than one stack of such leaves in the package, and the paper being folded so that upon withdrawin one leaf from a slot in the wrapper of t e package the next leaf will have its end brought out, that it may be grasped andremoved.

The object of the invention is to provide a.

simple, cheap wrapper for containing the stacks of paper, separating them one stack from the next, and in providing means for thoroughly inclosing the paper against withdrawal by the use of as little as possible cardboard or heavy paper, of which the wrapper is m de.

The scope of my invention will be pointed out in the claim.

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a View of my improved box before the center portion is glued to the lower portion. Fig. 2 is a transverse sectional view taken through the body of the package as illustrated in Fig. l, the leaves of paper being shown in elevation. Fig. 8 is a section on the line 3-3, Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a partial view of Fig. 1 showing the reverse side of the lowest section. Fig. 5 is a section on line 5-5 Fig. 1. Fig. 6 is a plan view of the scored and cut wrapper. Fig. 7 is a sectional view of three leaves showing how they are folded in the independent stacks.

In carrying out the invention, I provide a number of leaves, one folded as shown in Fig. 7, which is a well known manner of folding, and I place them in two stacks 2 and 3 as shown in Fig. 4. The stacks 2 and 3 are placed on a sect-ion 4 of the wrapper of stifi paper or the like, which is provided with apertures or slots 5 and 6, through which one end of the paper of the outer leaf of each stack is passed. I then fold over each stack side wings 7 and 8, each side wing having portions 9 and 10, the portion 9 acting as the outside of the container for each stack, portion 10 for an inside retainer to separate the stacks one from the other as clearly shown-in Fig. 2. Each flap 7 and 8 is provided with a slot 11 for engagement with tongues12 on a bottom flap 13, so that when the sideflaps are turned in and the end flap 13 turned overthe tongues may enter the slots 11. On the upper side of the portion 4 of the wrapper there are the portions 14 and 15; and the portions 16 and 17, the portions 16 and 17 are of the thickness of the package, the portion 14 being adapted to cover as a back the two wings 7 and 8, when they are in the position of Fig. 1. A daub of glue indicated by irregular lines in Fig. 1 may be applied to the outer side of the Wings 7 and 8 to hold the part 14 against them, and thus form an entirely inclosed and un-get-at-able box having two separate chambers for separate stacks of paper. Portion 15 may be folded so as to'come in front of the flaps which extend out of the slots, and all these outer sections may contain advertising matter as is common in articles of this character.
