The Schedule referred' to in these Letten Patent and making part of the lame.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Beit known that I, EDGAR C. Figure 2, au edge view, in position to be applied; Figure 3, as compressed for attachment to the article; and in Figure 4, a side view, as applied. 'The object of this invent-ion is the construction of a simple and cheap devicefor attaching tags to fabrics or articles, and consists of a single piece of wire, bent so as to form a clasp, and a. point to `hook into the' fabric, and also shaped so as to retain the holder in position inthe fabric, as hereinafter described.
.From a. single piece of wire of theV properleugth and size, according to the nature and size of the article to which it is to be attached, I form a sharp point, a, turned at right angles, as seen in fig. 3. Then, a short distance back, I form a.V double bend, f, doubling the wire at d, and a double bend, b, corresponding to the bend f,- then a horizontal loop, n, and the return of the point m, the horizontal bend forming' a dat bearing to rest upon one side of the fabnc, and the point m curved so as to extend over one of' the long or spring parts, and so that,`when the spring is depressed, as'in iig. 2, the point a will pass through the two partsv of the loop n, and curved end m bear upon one of the long sides, as seen iu Afig. 3, which completes which may be removed by reversing the operation of attachment.
The tag may be applied to the bend 1, or in any convenient manner. v
l claim as my invention- As an article of manufacture, the herein-described tag-holder, formed from a single piece of wire, doubling the wire at d, with the point-a and, bend j' on one part, and the bend band horizont-al loop n ou the other, the end m extending back, so as to bear upon the other part and act as a spring, and the loop constructed so that the bend fand point a pass through, and so as to grasp the material between the point a and loop, in the inanner specified.
