BIFFLE-BAG.

To all whom it may concern: I Be it known that I, JOHN KNAUss, a c1t1- zen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Biflie-Bag, of which the following is a specification.

This invention pertains to improvements in what may be termed bifile bags.

The invention has for its-object to provide for amusement or entertainment as well as wholesome exercise or recreation.

A further object is to carry out these ends in a simple, inexpensive and effective manner.

The invention consists of certain instrumentalities and features substantially as hereinafter fully disclosed and defined by the claims.

In the accompanying drawing, illustrating the preferred embodiment of my invention wherein it will be understood that various changes and modifications may be made as relates to the detailed construction and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit thereof, Figure 1 is a perspective of the device. Fig. 2 is a transverse section produced through Fig. 1, about centrally thereof.

In putting my invention into practice, I provide a suitable frame or contrivance 1, adapted for convenient handling or grasping, and movement, it being preferably of general rectangular outline, with hand-hold forming cross-bars 2 at its ends, which are circular in cross-section and oblong endwise,

- to adapt the same to be readily grasped by the hands. Suitably suspended from the frame or contrivance 1 is what I term a biffle bag 3 by means of asuitable suspending medium, as a cord or strap 4, or the like, the connection therebetween and said frame being preferably effected by providing or forming the latter with a central transverse or cross bar 5 having a central aperture 6, through which said medium is passed and knotted as at 7 for its suitable retention therein. The device is used by the operator grasping the hand-hold forming members or end-portions 2 of the frame 1, the same being held in a horizontal position with the bitfle bag in depending position, and suddenly moving the same to and fro transversely in front of him, when it will be observed that the bifiie bag will be vibrated or brought into forcible contact with the clenched hands of the operator, causing the rebounding of the bag at each engagement thereof with the hands and accordingly furnishing an amusing pastime or diversion especially for children, as well as wholesome exercise for both adults and children.

The device is extremely simple, readily constructed and inexpensive of manufacture.

What is claimed is 1. A device of the character described, including a carrying member adapted to be manually grasped at its ends and a dependable inflated bag for engagement with the clenched hands as said carrying member is vibrated.

2. A device of the character described, i11- cluding a carrying member engageable by the hands at its ends, a dependable inflated bag, and a flexible means for connection be tween said carrying member and said bag, the connectibn with said carrying member being effected about centrally thereof.

3. A device of the character described, including an oblong frame-member having hand-hold forming end-bars and an intermediate transverse member, a dependable inflated bag, and a flexible means of connection between said bag and said intermediate transverse member, said bag being adapted to contact with the clenched hands grasping said hand-hold forming end-bars as said frame-member is vibrated.
