` To all whom -it 'may concern 1 Be it known that I, JOSEPH Lnonsnn., of the cit-y andk county of Milwaukee, and State of Visconsin, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ratchet Drills; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art-to make and use the saine, reference heilig had to tle accompanying drawing forming part of this specificatimi, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view o my invention.

Nature and Object of the Invention.
The nature of my invention is to provide for turning the drill when the handle is carried in either direction.
A is the working-hamlle ofthe drill. v
B, a short handle.
C C, bars that connect this short handle to the working-handle.
D D, the frames which hold the wheels.
E, rivets which hold the hars O in position.
F, the drill-stock.
G G, pins, which hold the frames D l) together.
H H,pins, which hold the pawls.
I, pin, on which the second set of wheels moves.
K K, cog-wheels, meshing together on the drill stock F and piu I.
L L, ratchet-wheels secured to the drill-stock F and pin I.
M M, ratchets, 'secured to the handles A and B.
N N, springs, which hold the pawls to duty.
This ratchet drill, by working the handle A back and forth, keeps the drill-stock in a continuous motion, and thus performs double duty.
Claim..
I claim as my invention- Ihe combination in a ratchet drill of the handles A and B, links C, frames D D, stock F, pills G and I, cog-wheels K K, ratchet-wheels L L, pawls M M, and springs N N, constructed substantially as described, and arranged to operate inthe manner and for the purpose set forth.
