Be it known that we. (tnonon FMR and Bft'iL'roN T). Fam, citizens ot the United States, residing at Blaine, in the countyot' St. Clair` State ot' Michigan, have invented certain ,new and useful improvements in llows: and we. do hereby declare the -following to be a t'ull` elear7 and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains` to make and use the same.

'Ihis invention relates to new and use't'ul improvements in plows and more particularly to that class adapted to be used Ytor the purpose ot' removing beets t'roin the ground.

An object ot this invention is the provision of a plow comprising a beam 'from which depends a standard supporting a shoe, the said shoe provided with a lifting means for the purpose of removing beets or the like from the ground without danger of injury thereto.

Another object of this invention is the provision of a plow which consists of a beam from which extends a downwardly projecting standard having secured to its lower end a shoe provided with an enlarged point and a lit'ting plate secured to said shoe and point and to the standard by means ot' a suitable bracket which serves to retain the various parts in their normal positions.

A further object` of this invention is to improve and simplify devices ot this character rendering them comparatively simple and inexpensive to iminut'acture, reliable and etheient in use and readily operated.

l With the above and other objects in view this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formations, combinations and arrangements of parts to be hereinafter more particularly described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

From the foregoing disclosures taken in connection with the accompanying draw ings, it will be manifest that a plow for the plate secured to the plow shoe within said recess and a bracket connecting said lifting plate with the standard and plow shoe, as and for the purposes set forth.

The combination in a plow of the na ture described,of a plow beam, a bracket secured to the lower side thereof, a forwardly slanting standard supported by the bracket, an angular plow shoe secured to said standard, a shoe point secured to the shoe, said shoe point extending at an oblique angle with respect to the shoe at one side thereof, and lying flush with the bottom of said shoe at its opposite side, a lifting plate secured to the shoe and provided with a downwardly curved edge conforming in shape to the edge of 'the shoe and a bracket secured. to said lifting plate and to the shoe and standardg substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
