Abstract

A device for carrying out a method for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots consists of a frame, a baffle brush, a feeding rod conveyer, a cleaner, a gravity cleaner under the lower end of which an unloading conveyer is arranged. The cleaner is shaped as a hollow cone inside of which a heap distributor is arranged from above, and the cleaner itself is disposed vertically and connected to a drive and made as a cascade of cylindrical and conic parts of the equal height the diameters of which reduce in the downward direction. The cylindrical parts of the generator surfaces of the cascade are made by longitudinal rods arranged with gaps to each other, the conic parts by transversal rods also arranged with gaps to each other. The heap distributor is made as three dividers shaped as a cone mounted on one driving shaft the tops of which are directed upwards forming a zigzag bed inside the cleaner. Angles of inclination of the generators of the cones of the dividers to bases thereof and diameters thereof reduce in the downward direction. Immediately after transporting the tuberous roots heap passes through the centrifugal zigzag cascade cleaner.
