Abstract

A method for controlling quantity of aphid populations on maize such that at the beginning of settling the maize with populations of not less than three species of aphids, in particular of maize, euonymus and common grass ones, single settling of larvae of the second and third ages of the golden-eyed lacewing (Chrysopa carnea Steph.) is carried out onto plants in a ratio of 1:1 in an equivalent of 22-25 individuals per one plant. 10-12 days prior to the panicle emergence foliar fertilizing of the plants with an aqueous solution of the fertilizer Riverm is carried out in an equivalent of 15 l of fertilizer per 300 l of water per 1 ha of maize. At the beginning of forming aphid colonies double settling of the golden-eyed lacewing is carried out with an interval of 10-12 days. Eggs and larvae of the first age are settled in a ratio of 1:1 in equivalent of 30-40 individuals per one plant.
