Abstract
A method of thermomechanical treatment of welded joints provides for, after welding, plastic deformation of the area of weld in hot state by forming an undulating surface, which is smoothed out by subsequent reduction. For the purpose of improvement of quality of the welded joints and simplification of the equipment used heating and plastic deformation are performed simultaneously throughout entire weld length, and shaping undulating surface and its subsequent smoothing are carried out by rolling the weld in transverse direction.
