同軸纜線在傳輸器與接收器之間傳輸射頻(「RF」)信號且用於使工廠及供應商設備與電子組件(諸如電視機、纜線接線盒、DVD播放器、衛星接收器、數據機及具有一同軸埠之其他電裝置)互連。典型同軸纜線包含被一撓性介電質絕緣體、一箔層、一導電金屬管狀護套或護罩及一聚氯乙烯套罩環繞之一內導體。透過該內導體傳輸RF信號。導電管狀護罩提供一接地且抑制對內導體中之RF信號之電與磁干擾。

波紋45使唇緣32具備以彈性方式擴張之獨特能力。自由邊緣34具有沿著脊部43及溝部44兩者之端延伸之一圓周尺寸。該尺寸在唇緣32之所有配置中保持恆定,但由於其在掣爪16之凸起狀態中就自由邊緣34而言為扇形的,因此此允許唇緣32以獨特方式移動。
在圖3A中,掣爪16在凸起狀態中,如在一纜線11已完全施加至連接器10之前其將表現。脊部43向內指向,溝部44為扇形的,且唇緣32呈現其內直徑B,其中自由邊緣34關於唇緣32具有一扇形或波紋狀輪廓。圖4A中清晰地展示自由邊緣34之扇形形狀,如在纜線11未施加至連接器10之內部18時其將表現。

現在參考圖5A至圖5C,為將連接器10施加至纜線11上,根據眾所周知及習用技術對纜線11進行剝離及製備,包含剝去一套罩50之一部分且將一撓性護罩51回折至套罩50上方以在同軸纜線11之一經暴露向前端處暴露包圍內導體12之一介電質52。藉由以下方式將纜線11之向前端引入至連接器10中:(諸如)用手拿起纜線11,且將內導體12與縱向軸線A對準,將該向前端朝向連接器10之主體13之後端15呈現,且然後沿著由圖5B中之箭頭線C大體指示之一方向將向前端傳遞穿過後端15。內導體12及介電質52進入連接器10之一內支柱17且與內支柱17之一內表面53接觸地橫向移動。
往回捲曲至套罩50上方之纜線11之護罩51抵靠內支柱17之一外表面55上之一脊部54且在脊部54上方移動,且碰到唇緣32之後面41。唇緣32最初在掣爪16之凸起狀態中徑向向內指向,如圖5A中所展示。套罩50及回折至套罩50上方之護罩51具有比唇緣32之自由邊緣34與脊部54之間的一環狀間隙60之寬度大之一厚度,使得唇緣32與脊部54協作以定義對纜線11沿著箭頭線C之方向前進之一阻礙或干涉。

當唇緣32屈曲且偏轉時,唇緣32與脊部54之間的緊密空隙鬆弛,此乃因唇緣32相對於脊部54移出其原始相對位置;唇緣32不再與脊部54相對且因此放大其之間的間隙60。稍微韌性套罩50及護罩51共同移動至脊部54上方及唇緣32下,從而通行穿過現在放大之間隙60。

纜線11相對於連接器10之主體13沿著線D之稍微縮回使纜線11及套筒21向後移動,使得套筒21處於圖5C中所見之未壓縮狀態中且套筒21之後端23在主體13之後端15處。壓縮總成31延長且返回至其原始狀態。套筒21之後端23往回前進至主體13之後端15,且在彼處藉由向內翻轉嘴61限制後端23沿著線D進一步移動,向內翻轉嘴61捕獲套筒21之後端23且防止套筒21之後端23移出主體13。

Claims (17)

  1. 一種同軸纜線連接器,其包括:一主體,其具有一縱向軸線、一前端、一相對後端及一內部;及一掣爪,其支承在該主體之該內部中以用於與施加至該內部之一纜線嚙合且防止該纜線在如此施加至該內部之後縮回,該掣爪包含在該內部中之一連續環狀唇緣,其中該唇緣形成至該唇緣在其上樞轉之一活動鉸鏈;其中該掣爪為波紋狀的以允許該掣爪在該纜線施加至該內部時沿圓周變形。
