Description
本發明係關於具有螺紋之金屬緊固件,諸如螺柱、螺釘、螺栓及螺母。更特定而言,本發明係關於一種被覆一具有螺紋之緊固件之方法以及該經被覆緊固件。
依據EP2210931,已知一潤滑被覆組合物用於施加於鋼管之具有螺紋之接頭上以用於連接鋼管且特定而言石油工業用管材。此組合物係基於一松香及/或氟化鈣、金屬皂、蠟、一芳香族有機酸之一鹼性金屬鹽及作為潤滑粉末之石墨。潤滑被覆層之厚度較佳地為10μm至500μm,其係相對厚的。根據EP2210931之潤滑被覆層係呈一黏稠液體或一半固體形式(參考13頁[0106]段)。此被覆組合物不適合於緊固件,此乃因該被覆組合物將快速地磨損且造成沾染。
一緊固件係機械地暫時將兩個或兩個以上物件接合或貼附在一起之一裝置。一具有螺紋之緊固件係包括一具有螺紋之部分之一緊固件。實例包含(液壓)螺釘、螺栓及螺母。其通常由金屬、特定而言由不銹鋼製成。如當前申請案中所使用之表達「緊固件」意欲為如上文所界定之由包括一具有螺紋部分之金屬製成之一裝置。
「螺紋卡澀(thread seizing)」係不銹鋼及其他合金緊固件之一常見問題。可將其視為一冷銲程序。在緊固件擰緊期間,高速及突然高
溫可造成螺紋擦傷且導致卡澀,即螺紋實際固結在一起。最容易且最有效之解決方案係潤滑。幾十年來,已將潤滑劑用作不銹鋼及其他合金緊固件上之預潤滑被覆層以使螺紋卡澀之風險最小化。潤滑劑一經適當施加,便形成可有效地改良擰緊期間之「螺紋擦傷」及「冷銲」問題之無色防觸摸且超薄潤滑膜。諸如經潤滑螺栓及諸如此類之經被覆緊固件係已知的。在2014年漢諾威(Hannover)緊固件展(Fastener Fair)上,Lubo工藝(Lubo technics)呈現了一種經被覆螺栓,該經被覆螺栓由於其組合物而係符合FDA的且係極環保的。如網際網路上之各種視訊呈現所展示,被覆層在避免卡澀方面極為成功,即使一螺栓之具有螺紋之部分嚴重損壞。已對該組合物之性質進行保密。
儘管成功引入此被覆層,但仍需要進一步改良此組合物。因此,該被覆層不黏附或不磨損係重要的。當所施加之被覆層必須薄時,此係更為重要的。如已知,螺釘及螺栓及類似緊固件中之容差裕量係極小的。針對一M1,6型緊固件,被覆層之厚度較佳地應為約4μm或更小;針對一M68型緊固件,被覆層之厚度可為約20μm或更小。因此,被覆層應係超薄平滑的且係均勻施加的。此外,組合物應使得允許(舉例而言)緊接在緊固件製成之後的最有效施加。就此而言,應注意,在涉及一鑄造程序、一螺紋製造程序(例如,軋製、機械加工、精整)及/或一焊接程序之典型生產方法中,若將頭部焊接至螺紋以形成一螺栓或諸如此類,則使用高溫及/或緊固件之溫度由於螺紋形成之方式而已增加。換言之,高度期望具有滿足以下要求之一被覆組合物:符合FDA且係環保的;成功防止螺紋擦傷及冷銲;可經施加以產生緊固件所期望的延伸整個具有螺紋之部分之一薄的防觸摸平滑膜;及即使在高溫下亦可被高效地施加而不會在室溫下變黏性或磨損。
因此,需要一經改良被覆組合物。
因此,本發明提供一種包括一具有螺紋之部分之金屬緊固件,其中該具有螺紋之部分之至少部分被覆有一新硬的FDA核准之組合物,該新硬的FDA核准之組合物基本上由以下各項組成(a)一固體石蠟,其具有由ASTM方法D938-71(1981年重新核准)判定之在50℃至70℃之範圍內之一凍凝點(b)每重量份數(pbw)之固體石蠟1pbw至5pbw之一樹脂,(c)每pbw之固體石蠟0.1pbw至0.25pbw石墨,及(d)每pbw之固體石蠟0.05pbw至0.30pbw之一種二氧化矽。
此外,本發明提供一種被覆包括一具有螺紋之部分之一金屬緊固件之方法,其包括以下步驟:(i)提供如上文所定義之組合物,(ii)將該緊固件維持在或帶至30℃至70℃之範圍內之一溫度,(iii)在100℃至170℃之範圍內之一溫度下施加該組合物,(iv)視情況移除剩餘組合物,(v)將該緊固件冷卻至低於100℃,(vi)在一水浴中精整該緊固件,及(vii)使該緊固件乾燥。
另外,本發明提供一種粉末被覆包括一具有螺紋之部分之一金屬緊固件之方法,其包括以下步驟:(i)提供如上文所定義之組合物,(ii)產生該組合物之一粉末,(iii)電沈積該粉末狀組合物以在該金屬緊固件之該等具有螺紋之部分上形成一被覆層(iv)視情況移除剩餘組合物,(v)在100℃至200℃之範圍內之一溫度下熔化熔融該所施加之
粉末狀組合物,及(vi)將該緊固件冷卻。
重要地,本發明之組合物僅基於FDA核准之組分(亦即,組分之使用量滿足美國食品藥物管理局(U.S.Food and Drug Administration)如在2015年所設定之要求)。較佳地,該組合物係無水的。當將組合物帶至高溫時,具有100℃或低於100℃之一沸點之水或其他組分之存在將造成問題。此外,水的存在將不利地影響金屬緊固件。表達「基本上由...組成(essentially consists of)」在本文中用於指示可存在較小量之其他符合FDA之組分(例如,高達組分總重量之5%),前提係此等其他組分不干擾組分(a)至組分(d)。
被覆層應係硬的且防觸摸的。較佳地,其具有如由DSC(ASTM D3418)判定之至少70℃、較佳地至少100℃之一熔點。針對如粉末被覆層之施加,熔點較佳地係至少100℃。一般而言,熔點低於170℃、較佳地低於160°。針對作為一熔體至緊固件上之施加,熔點較佳地低於130℃。最低溫度確保被覆層(儘管係超薄的)即使在熱帶條件下使用時亦保持在金屬緊固件之具有螺紋之部分上。最高溫度確保當將緊固件一起放置於一箱中時被覆層不會變得過於脆性且斷裂。
此外,被覆層應能夠在作為一超薄層(例如,具有在4μm至30μm之範圍內、較佳地在5μm至20μm之範圍內之一厚度)被施加之情況下執行。
組分(a)
石蠟或石蠟烴係具有通式CnHn+2之飽和烴,其中n至少係15。固體石蠟具有如由ASTM方法D938-71(1981年重新核准)判定之在約50
℃至約70℃之範圍內之一凍凝點,但此可根據如油含量及結晶結構之此等因素而變化。藉助其凍凝點對固體石蠟進行選擇係重要的。當採用具有低於50℃之一凍凝點之一固體石蠟時,被覆層可係黏性的且可磨損。此外,當在高溫下施加於緊固件上時,組合物對於在緊固件之具有螺紋之部分上方之適當施加而言可太具流動性。此可藉由組合物之其他組分而補償,但因此具有不同缺點。當採用具有高於70℃之一凍凝點之一固體石蠟時,被覆層可在生產期間或製造之後變得過於脆性且可碎裂。石蠟係商業上可獲得的。除基於正烷烴之純固體石蠟以外,亦可使用含有支鏈烷烴及影響其結晶度之其他組分之經修改固體石蠟(前提係其係FDA核准的)。FDA核准係指一油含量(其應係低於2.5%,如由ASTM方法D721-56T所判定)及吸收率。針對FDA核准,物質具有如由ASTM方法E131-81a「Standard Definitions of Terms and Symbols Relating to Molecular-Spectroscopy」判定之在88℃下、在十氫化萘中於290毫微米處之不超過0.01之一吸收率。可使用其他蠟(如例如,蜂蠟),但出於成本原因其並非最佳的。
組分(b)
所選擇之樹脂係FDA核准的。美國食品藥物管理局維持所允許之添加劑之各種清單。參考2015年4月1日之聯邦法規標題21(Code of Federal Regulations Title 21)。此外,其並非根據法規(EC)第1272/2008號或根據EC指令67/548/EEC或1999/45/EC之一有害物質或混合物。有利地,樹脂及固體石蠟充分混合以便形成一均質組合物。適合樹脂包含松香、甘油松香脂、合成聚萜烯樹脂、C9芳香族烴類樹脂、C5脂肪族烴類樹脂、經混合C9芳香族/C5脂肪族樹脂及其混合物。
該樹脂具有一黏合功能。其促進組合物至緊固件之具有螺紋之部分之黏合。選定樹脂亦對選定固體石蠟之熔化溫度具有一協同效
應,此允許使用可作為相對薄被覆層被施加於一緊固件之具有螺紋之部分周圍之低熔石蠟而無製造之後在周圍溫度下變黏性之風險。固體石蠟與樹脂之組合提供一足夠疏水效能。當樹脂係一松香(例如,松脂)時,固體石蠟與樹脂可極好地混合。因此,樹脂可有利地由松脂組成。針對如粉末被覆層之施加,已發現如達馬(damar)樹脂(來自生長在東印度群島之落葉樹之一科之一硬天然樹脂)之其他松香極為適合。已發現達馬樹脂極適合於硬化及升高被覆組合物之熔化溫度。
使用低於1pbw之樹脂並不達成所期望之黏合結果及對固體石蠟之協同效應。使用多於5pbw之樹脂不利地影響在高溫下之施加行為,且可致使被覆層變得脆性。
有利地,樹脂及固體石蠟之量經選擇使得組合物具有一動態黏度,使得在50℃下,該動態黏度之值係至少1.0Pa.s(如實例中所闡述而量測)。此可藉由選擇適當固體石蠟、樹脂及觸變劑(如下文所定義)及其相對量而達成。
組分(c)
根據本發明之緊固件上之組合物包括石墨。石墨可係天然的或合成的。天然石墨被採掘且可含有某些雜質(諸如硫化合物或二氧化矽)。合成石墨係自碳之燒結獲得。其通常具有一高純度,且在高碳含量下潤滑效能增強。可使用任一者,前提係石墨具有高純度且因此係FDA核准的。石墨在組合物中充當一固體潤滑劑。石墨可由其他已知固體潤滑劑部分地替換。固體潤滑劑包含二硫化鉬、二硫化鎢、石墨、氮化硼、氧化銻、氧化鉛、氟化鈣、氟化鈰、滑石及其混合物,其中之某些(級別)係FDA核准的且其中之某些並非FDA核准的。在本發明中,應僅使用FDA核准之固體潤滑劑。將石墨用作唯一固體潤滑劑係較佳的,此乃因石墨可用於所有類型之工業中(包含食品工業)。
石墨之量可在界定之範圍內變化。使用較少可不利地影響被覆
層之反擦傷性質。若使用過多石墨,可不利地影響施加及黏合性質。
組分(d)
另一基本組分係二氧化矽,其影響被覆層之硬度且亦充當一觸變劑。更佳觸變劑經沈澱二氧化矽或氣相二氧化矽,後者係尤其較佳的。氣相二氧化矽具有一極強增稠效應。該氣相二氧化矽係由具有5nm至50nm之平均粒子大小之極小二氧化矽粒子組成。其尤其在商標名Aerosil及Cab-O-Sil下銷售。
如上文所指示,當組合物已施加至緊固件時,二氧化矽之存在促進組合物之硬固體性質。被覆層之硬固體性質係重要的,以確保被覆層保持於緊固件上而不磨損或不斷裂。明確地避免沾染(如可在使用油脂或潤滑油時發生)。此外,二氧化矽確保當組合物經受移動時,該組合物之黏度下降。二氧化矽可由其他已知觸變劑部分地替換。數種觸變劑在此項技術中已知。有機觸變劑包含蓖麻蠟、醯胺蠟、氧化聚乙烯蠟、聚合植物油及其混合物。無機觸變劑包含鎂鋁海泡石(attapulgite)、蒙脫石(montmorillonite)、水輝石、膨潤土及其混合物。
若使用低於0.05pbw之二氧化矽,則被覆層可為過於軟的且過於黏稠的。若使用多於0.30pbw之二氧化矽,則被覆層可變得脆性。二氧化矽之較佳量係在0.08pbw至0.25pbw之範圍內。針對藉由粉末被覆層之施加,二氧化矽之量超過0.08pbw係較佳的。
較佳實施例
組合物基本上由如上文所定義之一固體石蠟、一樹脂、石墨(或類似固體潤滑劑)及二氧化矽(或類似觸變劑)組成。組合物可含有其他組分(如著色劑及諸如此類),但較佳地由此四個組分組成。在組合物由石蠟、石墨、松脂或達馬樹脂及氣相二氧化矽組成之情況下,該組合物具有進一步優點:該組合物適合於在食品工業中使用。
此等組分之相對量可在所闡述之範圍內變化。較佳地,針對熔體施加,組合物中之相對量為每pbw之固體石蠟1.5pbw至3pbw之樹脂,及每pbw之石蠟0.12pbw至0.20pbw之石墨,以及每pbw之石蠟0.06pbw至0.10pbw之二氧化矽。針對如粉末被覆層之施加,二氧化矽之量可稍微較高(例如,在0.08pbw至0.25pbw之範圍內)。因此,組合物將具有高於70℃、較佳地高於100℃,但低於170℃、較佳地低於160℃(由DSC,ASTM D3418判定)之一熔點。以此方式,可在無過度困難之情況下達成組合物至緊固件之施加,而在周圍溫度下,組合物係足夠堅實的以避免組合物之黏性及流動性,使得緊固件不黏附在一起且不使被覆層受損失。
金屬緊固件
根據本發明之金屬緊固件可自各種各樣之緊固構件選擇。該等緊固構件包含一螺釘、一螺栓及一螺母。就此等片語而言,理解為各種類型之螺釘及螺栓(包含自攻螺釘、鍵螺栓、楔螺栓、插銷螺栓等),此等緊固構件之僅有之先決條件係其含有一螺紋。緊固件可由不銹鋼或一合金製成。特定而言,本發明適合於遭受擦傷及/或冷銲之金屬緊固件。
組合物
本發明亦提供可利用其至少部分地被覆緊固件之組合物。組合物係新的。因此,本發明亦提供一種用於螺紋之被覆組合物,該被覆組合物基本上由上文所定義之組分(a)至組分(d)組成。根據本發明之緊固件可部分地或完全地由本發明組合物被覆。此可取決於製備此緊固件之方法。
被覆一具有螺紋之金屬緊固件之方法
此外,本發明提供一種被覆包括一具有螺紋之部分之一金屬緊固件之方法,其包括以下步驟:
(i)提供如上文所定義之一組合物,(ii)將緊固件維持在或帶至30℃至70℃之範圍內之一溫度,(iii)在100℃至170℃之範圍內之一溫度下施加該組合物,(iv)視情況移除剩餘組合物,(v)將該緊固件冷卻至低於100℃,(vi)在一水浴中精整該緊固件,及(vii)使該緊固件乾燥。
在100℃至170℃之範圍內之一溫度下,經加熱組合物施加至緊固件之具有螺紋之部分之至少部分。此可(舉例而言)藉由噴塗或浸漬而完成。有利地,此可作為緊固件之製造方法之部分而在製成緊固件之位點處完成。當此作為製造方法之部分完成時,此具有以下優點:避免了在送至經銷商及(轉售者)銷售者之前在將緊固件裝箱時之冷銲。
可實施噴塗或浸漬,使得整個緊固件曝露於被覆組合物。然而,亦可僅對緊固件之具有螺紋之部分或其一部分進行施加。
當經加熱液體組合物接觸緊固件時,若緊固件係相對冷的,則可使組合物淬滅。此可引發被覆組合物之相對厚的層。為避免此厚的被覆層之可能發生,緊固件或至少其具有螺紋之部分在其曝露於經加熱液體組合物之前進行加熱。根據本發明之方法,將緊固件維持在或帶至30℃至70℃之範圍內之一溫度。若組合物之熔化溫度係高的,則經加熱緊固件可具有一相應較高溫度。將本發明之組合物適當地加熱至高於緊固件之溫度之一溫度,較佳地自130℃至150℃。
較佳地,(舉例而言)藉由吹脫剩餘組合物而移除該剩餘物。接下來,允許冷卻經被覆緊固件。較佳地,在該經被覆緊固件於一水浴中進行精整之前,將該經被覆緊固件冷卻至60℃與75℃之間。當冷卻至低於60℃時,被覆層可變得粗砂質且較不平滑。當將緊固件係冷卻至
超過75℃之溫度時,水浴與緊固件之間的溫度差可致使被覆層自緊固件剝落並分離。較佳地,水浴之溫度係介於30℃與50℃之間、更較佳地係介於35℃與40℃之間。若水溫係低於30℃,則此被覆組合物冷卻過快且被覆層可變得粗砂質且較不平滑。若溫度高於50℃,則緊固件可彼此黏附且在方法中當將緊固件更進一步分離時可損壞被覆層。在水浴中,緊固件通常藉由刷塗而進行精整。最後,較佳地藉由吹脫而移除水。可在每一步驟處採取等效方法步驟以達成相同目標。
被覆層亦可作為粉末被覆層有效地施加。類似於上文所闡述之方法,首先藉由在高溫下加熱組分且形成一均質組合物而製成一組合物。然後將該組合物冷卻,藉此該組合物變為固體。固體組合物經研磨且經篩分以形成適合於粉末被覆層之一粉末。粉末被覆層之平均粒子直徑較佳地係在0.05μm至30μm之範圍內且更佳地係在0.07μm至20μm之範圍內。
可使用習用粉末被覆技術、藉由將呈粉末形式之組合物沈積於一經加熱緊固件上且允許該組合物熔化(若必要,利用加熱)而施加一固體被覆組合物。另一選擇係,首先施加粉末且然後將其加熱至熔化。該施加較佳地利用一靜電槍,該靜電槍對粉末賦予一正電荷,而緊固件係接地的。在冷卻後,旋即形成一潤滑被覆層。理想地,粉末僅施加於緊固件之具有螺紋之部分上。不具有螺紋之部分完全不經被覆,或在粉末熔化前移除該粉末。
將藉助於以下實例進一步闡明本發明。
實例1

Brenntag供應)。在冷卻之後,使用一流變儀AR 200 EX(亦即,一平行板流變儀)、量測扭力及角速度而判定經冷卻組合物之黏度行為。剪切應力(扭力)對剪切速率(角速度)之一圖表以一簡單方式產生黏度。
藉助於使用一25mm直徑之板-板構形及1000μm之一間隙之該流變儀進行實際量測。間隙偏移係0μm。將一扭轉爐用作溫度控制器。將穩態流用作斜坡類型而在0.01s-1至高達100s-1之範圍內之一剪切速率下判定動態黏度。剪切速率因數係12.50。在量測之前,使用7分鐘之一平衡時間調節一樣本。在下表中展示在不同溫度下之量測結果。
結果顯示,組合物在高於約100℃之範圍內之一溫度下極好地係流體,此使施加變得容易。在固體石蠟之熔化溫度(亦即,約50℃)下,組合物仍係極黏稠的,且在周圍溫度下,組合物係硬的,使得組合物在被施加至緊固件時保持於該緊固件上。經被覆緊固件在不變得黏性之情況下具有極好的抗擦傷性質。熔化溫度稍微高於70℃。
比較實例2
已製成一比較組合物,其中固體石蠟之相對量係加倍的且因此樹脂、潤滑劑及觸變劑之相對量減小至低於技術方案之限制。藉由在約100℃之一溫度下將組分混合而製備組合物,該組合物包括200gr.之固體石蠟、8gr.之氣相二氧化矽、16gr.石墨粉末及200gr.之松脂。儘管就防止擦傷及冷銲而言經被覆緊固件相當好地執行,但被覆
層係黏性的,從而造成沾染。此外,被覆層較不均勻。在製造期間發現顯著數目之缺陷,此展示就此組合物之適用性而言,該組合物係較不適合的。
比較實例3
藉由在約100℃之一溫度下將組分混合而製備組合物,該組合物包括500gr.之固體石蠟、125gr.石墨粉末及500gr.之松脂。材料係半固體的且並不很硬。該材料在觸摸後旋即容易熔化且行為類似於巧克力並造成對手及紡織品之沾染。
實例4
藉由在約140℃之一溫度下將組分混合而製備一組合物,該組合物包括100gr.之固體石蠟、14gr.之氣相二氧化矽、16gr.石墨粉末、24gr.二氧化鈦及200gr.達馬C(由Roeper GmbH供應之CEROGA®)。組合物經軋平、冷卻且分解成小晶片。該等晶片經研磨且經篩分以製成一細粉末。使用一靜電槍將粉末在周圍溫度下以一習用方式施加至一緊固件上。然後,將緊固件加熱以使粉末熔化,藉此形成被覆層。被覆組合物具有高於100℃但低於170℃之一熔化溫度。
Claims (16)
- 一種包括一具有螺紋之部分之金屬緊固件構件,其中該具有螺紋部分之至少部分被覆有一硬的FDA核准之組合物,該硬的FDA核准之組合物基本上由以下各項組成(a)一固體石蠟,其具有在50℃至70℃之範圍內之一熔化溫度(b)每重量份數(pbw)之固體石蠟1pbw至5pbw之一樹脂,(c)每pbw之固體石蠟0.1pbw至0.25pbw石墨,及(d)每pbw之固體石蠟0.05pbw至0.30pbw之一FDA核准之二氧化矽。
- 如請求項之金屬緊固件構件,其中(d)項係每pbw之固體石蠟0.08pbw至0.25pbw之一FDA核准之二氧化矽。
- 如請求項1之金屬緊固件構件,其中該樹脂係選自由以下各項組成之群組:松香、甘油松香脂、合成聚萜烯樹脂、C9芳香族烴類樹脂、C5脂肪族烴類樹脂、經混合C9芳香族/C5脂肪族樹脂及其混合物。
- 如請求項3之金屬緊固件構件,其中該樹脂由松脂或達馬樹脂組成。
- 如請求項1至4中任一項之金屬緊固件構件,其中該二氧化矽係氣相二氧化矽。
- 如請求項1至4中任一項之金屬緊固件構件,其中該緊固件選自由以下各項組成之群組:螺柱、螺釘、螺栓、螺母及其混合物。
- 一種用於螺紋之被覆組合物,該被覆組合物係硬的且係FDA核准的,且基本上由以下各項組成(a)一固體石蠟,其具有在50℃至70℃之範圍內之一熔化溫度 (b)每重量份數(pbw)之固體石蠟1pbw至5pbw之一樹脂,(c)每pbw之固體石蠟0.1pbw至0.25pbw石墨,及(d)每pbw之固體石蠟0.05pbw至0.30pbw之一種二氧化矽。
- 如請求項7之組合物,其中(d)項係每pbw之固體石蠟0.08pbw至0.25pbw之一種二氧化矽。
- 如請求項7之組合物,其在50℃下具有至少1.0Pa.s.之一動態黏度。
- 一種用於被覆包括一具有螺紋之部分之一金屬緊固件之方法,其包括以下步驟:(i)提供如請求項7至9中任一項中所定義之組合物,(ii)將該緊固件維持在或帶至30℃至70℃之範圍內之一溫度,(iii)在100℃至170℃之範圍內之一溫度下施加該組合物,(iv)視情況移除剩餘組合物,(v)將該緊固件冷卻至低於100℃,(vi)在一水浴中精整該緊固件,及(vii)使該緊固件乾燥。

- 如請求項12之方法,其中該溫度係自130℃至150℃。

- 如請求項10或11之方法,其中將步驟(vi)中之該水浴維持在介於30℃與50℃之間的一溫度下。
- 一種用於粉末被覆包括一具有螺紋之部分之一金屬緊固件之方 法,其包括以下步驟:(i)提供如請求項7至9中任一項中所定義之組合物,(ii)產生該組合物之一粉末,(iii)電沈積該粉末狀組合物以在該金屬緊固件之該等具有螺紋之部分上形成一被覆層(iv)視情況移除剩餘組合物,(v)在100℃至200℃之範圍內之一溫度下熔化熔融該所施加之粉末狀組合物,及(vi)將該緊固件冷卻。
