Description
本發明大體而言係關於塗料組合物,其包括a)含有兩個或者更多活性氫基團的化合物與交酯之反應產物以及視需要之b)交聯劑,及關於至少部份塗佈有自本發明塗料組合物沉積之塗層之基材。
對環境友好型產品需求的增加,已使數種工業關注於綠色塗料組合物,特別是生物可降解塗料。這種塗料和消費電子工業尤其相關,其中對大量增加的手機、PDAs、MP3和類似產品正在尋找其填埋方法。生物可降解塗料,特別是用於上述各種電子設備的生物可降解塑料為所需。
本發明有關一種塗料組合物,其包括a)含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團的化合物與交酯之反應產物。該塗料組合物可進而包括b)交聯劑。本發明一實施例中,按重量計含有活性氫基團的化合物與交酯的比率為1:>10至1:10,000。本發明另一個實施例中,含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團的化合物可包括從生物質衍生的多元醇。
本發明有關一種塗料組合物,其包括含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團的化合物與交酯之反應產物;此有時於本文中亦稱為「交酯反應產物」,「反應產物」及類似術語。「經交聯」塗料為其中一個組分的至少某些官能性基團與另一個組分的至少某些官能性基團反應,當經受允許及/或促進反應或「固化」(例如混合,加熱等)的條件時予以反應之塗料。正如本文所提到的,「經交聯」塗料包含「可交聯」塗料;也就是說,在經受適當條件時,塗料將被交聯。
應瞭解本文描述的塗料組合物可為單組分(「1K」)或多組分組合物,例如雙組分(「2K」)組合物。該1K組合物應瞭解為一種組合物,其所有的塗料組分在生產完成後,貯存過程中等,被放在同一容器中保存。可將1K塗料組合物塗佈於基材上並藉任何習知方法,例如加熱、強制空氣等予以固化。本發明塗料組合物亦可為2K塗料組合物或多組分塗料組合物,其應瞭解其係其中各種組分在使用前係分開保存之塗料。
如上所述,本發明塗料組合物包含含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團的化合物與交酯之反應產物。含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團的化合物,本文有時稱作「含活性氫化合物」以及類似的術語,其包含含有兩個或更多個巰基、一級胺、二級胺及/或羥基基團的化合物。熟習此項技術者應了解含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團的化合物將會與交酯反應而形成包含聚(乳酸)單元的化合物。
在某些實施例中,含有兩個或更多個活性氫的化合物為多元醇。本發明可使用任何多元醇。合適的多元醇包括,但不限於,含有一個以上之羥基基團的小分子,例如新戊二醇、甘油、脫水異山梨醇酯、季戊四醇及/或丙二醇,或聚合多元醇例如聚酯多元醇或丙烯酸多元醇。合適的多元醇已廣泛市售。特別合適的多元醇之由GPC測定之數平均分子量為500至100,000,例如500至10,000。在某些實施例中,多元醇具有20至400,例如40至300或120至350之羥值。在其他的實施例中,該羥值可在1200至2100之範圍,例如1400至1900。
在某些實施例中,至少有些多元醇係生物質衍生者。此等多元醇可衍生自天然油例如蓖麻油、花生油、大豆油或油菜油。生物質衍生的多元醇或「生物基多元醇」係任一種直接衍生自生物質或由一種或多種生物質衍生化合物製備之任意多元醇。存在於生物質衍生多元醇中羥基可自然產生或例如藉由改質存在該於油中之碳-碳雙鍵而加以引入。合適的生物基多元醇具有500至100,000,例如500至10,000之由GPC測定之數平均分子量(「Mn」)。在某些實施例中,該多元醇具有20至400,例如40至300,或120至350之羥值。在某些其他的實施例中,該羥值可在1200至2100,例如1400至1900之範圍内。美國專利申請公開案第2006/0041156 A1號、美國專利號7,084,230、WO 2004/096882 A1、美國專利號6,686,435、美國專利號6,107,433、美國專利號6,573,354及美國專利號6,433,121中描述天然油衍生的多元醇。改質碳-碳雙鍵以引入羥基之方法包括以臭氧處理、空氣氧化、與過氧化物反應或氫甲醯化反應(如「Polyols and Polyurethanes from Hydroformylation of Soybean Oil」,Journal of Polymers and the Environment,10卷,1-2號,49-52頁,2002年4月中所述)。特別適合的生物質衍生的多元醇係大豆多元醇。大豆多元醇係購自Cargill Inc.、Urethane Soy Systems Co.及BioBased Technologies。在某些其他實施例中,多元醇係衍生自回收聚合物,例如聚酯,其中聚對苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(「PET」)係一實例。生物質衍生的多元醇可藉由在產生酯交換反應的條件下,使回收的PET與多元醇(例如大豆多元醇及甘油)反應獲得。
當大豆多元醇及其他從生物質衍生的多元醇用於塗料中時,此等塗料易具有減少之硬度、耐溶劑性、耐化學物質性例如在潤膚乳液、防曬霜和驅蚊劑中已見之該等性質及/或與具有石油基多元醇之塗料相比之其它性質之降等。據信此係由於低玻璃轉換溫度(「Tg」)及存在於此多元醇中之二級羥基基團之低反應性。本發明者發現藉由從生物質衍生的多元醇與交酯之反應獲得之反應產物提供了當用於塗料中時改良之性質,此係相較於使用自未改質之生物質衍生的多元醇之塗料。
本發明可使用任何適宜交酯,例如L-交酯,消旋交酯或D-交酯。也可使用任何異構體之混合物。交酯係乳酸(2-羥基丙酸)之交酯。合適交酯亦可購得。
如上所述,在某些實施例中,至少有些含有活性氫之化合物係生物質衍生者;在某些其他的實施例中,至少有些交酯係生物質衍生者,及甚至在某些其他的實施例中,至少有些該兩種物質係生物質衍生者。應瞭解生物質衍生化合物係衍生自活有機體或短期為活有機體,例如,植物(包括樹)或動物而不衍生自基於石油的資源之化合物。在某些實施例中,含有活性氫之化合物與交酯之反應產物包括40重量%或更多生物質衍生的物質,例如60%或更多,80%或更多,或90%或更多,其重量%係基於總固體重量。應瞭解交酯反應產物亦可含有任意量之非生物質衍生物質,例如石油衍生物質。
交酯與含有活性氫之化合物間之反應可在任何合適條件下進行。例如,混合含有活性氫之化合物與交酯且加熱到100至200℃,例如120至150℃,歷時2至10小時。該反應可在催化劑,例如錫、鋁、鋅及鑭系元素之錯合物存在時進行。錫化合物例如2-乙基己酸錫(II)尤其合適。該反應可以塊體或在溶劑存在時進行。
含有活性氫之基團與交酯之莫耳比為1:0.1至1:10,例如1:0.2至1:6,或1:0.5至1:3。在某些其他的實施例中,含有活性氫之化合物與交酯之重量比為10:1至1:10,例如5:1至1:6或2:1至1:4。
在某些實施例中,含有活性氫之化合物可與交酯及一或多種其它環狀單體,例如己內酯反應。此等反應可同時,或按順序進行。
含有兩個或更多個活性氫基團之化合物與交酯之反應產物可具有20至400,例如40至350,或80至220之羥值。含有一個或更多個活性氫基團之化合物與交酯之反應產物由GPC測定之數平均分子量(「Mn」)為500至100,000,例如750至10,000,或1000至7500。
令人驚訝地發現自本發明塗料組合物沉積之塗層係生物可降解的。應瞭解生物可降解組合物為其中包括該組合物之有機物質由生物有機體,例如在氧(需氧)或無氧(厭氧)存在時分解之組合物。本發明之某種組合物可在需氧條件下生物降解,例如工業或家庭堆肥。一般,特殊條件下之組合物之生物降解率隨著聚(乳酸)單元之增加而提高。在某些實施例中,本發明之塗料組合物包括至少20重量%聚(乳酸)單元,例如至少32重量%,或至少38重量%,其重量%係基於該塗料之總固體重量。當含有活性氫之化合物為基於生物的多元醇時,本發明之塗料包括5重量%或更多衍生自交酯之聚(乳酸)單元,例如10重量%或更多,30重量%或更多,其重量%係基於總固體重量。
在某些實施例中,本發明之塗料組合物亦包括與交酯反應產物反應之交聯劑。實例包括多異氰酸酯及胺基塑料。當使用交聯劑時,本發明之塗料組合物包括5至60重量%,例如10至50,或20至40重量%之交聯劑,其重量%係基於塗料總固體重量。
合適的多異氰酸酯包含多官能異氰酸酯。多官能異氰酸酯之實例包含脂肪族二異氰酸酯(例如六亞甲基二異氰酸酯及異佛爾酮二異氰酸酯),及芳香族二異氰酸酯(例如甲苯二異氰酸酯和4,4'-二苯基甲烷二異氰酸酯)。該多異氰酸酯係封端或未封端。其它合適多異氰酸酯之實例包含異氰尿酸酯三聚體、脲甲酸鹽、及二異氰酸酯及聚碳二醯亞胺之脲二酮,例如於2008年3月27日申請之美國專利申請號12/056,306中揭示者。合適的多異氰酸酯係此項技術中所熟習的且係廣泛市售。例如,合適的多異氰酸酯揭示於美國專利第6,316,119號第6欄19-36行中。市售多異氰酸酯之實例包含DESMODUR N3390,其由拜耳公司售出,及TOLONATE HDT90,其由Rhodia Inc.售出。
合適的胺基塑料包括胺類及/或醯胺類與醛之縮合物。例如,三聚氰胺與甲醛之縮合物係一種合適的胺基塑料。合適的胺基塑料係此項技術中已知。合適的胺基塑料揭示於例如美國專利第6,316,119號第5欄,第44-45行。
在某些實施例中,本發明之塗料組合物當由生物基多元醇製得時,其係熱塑性,然而在其它實施例中其係熱固性。熱固性組合物可包括與自身交聯之組分,即,自我交聯,或可包括將與多元醇/交酯反應之交聯劑,例如上述之物質。
在某些實施例中,本發明之塗料組合物係不為輻射可固化者。
在某些實施例中,本發明之塗料組合物包括重量%,例如重量%,或重量%之交酯反應產物,其重量%係基於總固體重量。本發明之塗料組合物包括重量%,例如重量%,重量%,重量%或重量%之交酯反應產物,其重量%係基於固體總重量。本發明可使用此等數字組合內之任何範圍。在某些實施例中,塗料組合物之碳含量之10%或更多,例如20%或更多,或50%或更多係直接來自於生物質。
應瞭解用於本發明之塗料組合物中之交酯反應產物可形成該塗料組合物之全部或部份成膜樹脂。在某些實施例中,一種或多種額外的成膜樹脂亦可使用在該塗料中。例如,該塗料組合物可包括此項技術中已知之多種熱塑性及/或熱固性組合物之任意種。該塗料組合物可為水性或或溶劑型液體組合物,或者,可為固體狀顆粒形式,即粉末塗料。
熱固性或可固化塗料組合物一般包括具有與自身或與交聯劑反應之官能基團之成膜聚合物或樹脂。該額外成膜樹脂可選自,例如丙烯酸聚合物、聚酯聚合物、聚胺酯聚合物、聚醯胺聚合物、聚醚聚合物、聚矽氧烷聚合物、其共聚物及其混合物。一般彼等聚合物可為藉由此項技術中已知任何方法製造的任何該類聚合物。此等聚合物可能係溶劑型塗料或水可分散型、可乳化型、或具有有限水溶性。該成膜樹脂上之官能基團可能係選自任何各種反應官能基團其包含,例如,羧酸基、胺基、環氧基、羥基、巰基、胺甲醯基、醯胺基、脲基、異氰酸酯基(包含封端異氰酸酯基)、硫醇基,及其組合。
合適的成膜樹脂混合物亦可用於製備本發明之塗料組合物。
熱固性塗料組合物可係自我交聯或可包含一交聯劑,該交聯劑可選自,例如,上述列舉之任何一種胺基塑料或多異氰酸酯、聚環氧化物,β-羥烷基醯胺、聚酸、酸酐、有機金屬酸官能基材料、聚胺、聚醯胺、及上述任一物質之混合物。在某些實施例中,本發明之塗料包括熱固性成膜聚合物或樹脂及其交聯劑且該交聯劑與用於使交酯反應產物交聯之交聯劑相同或不同。在某些其他的實施例中,使用具有與自身反應之官能基團之熱固性成膜聚合物或樹脂,以此方式,該等熱固性塗料係自我交聯。
在一特別適合之實施例中,塗料組合物包括一種或多種額外的包括多元醇與交酯之反應產物之成膜樹脂。該多元醇係含有多於一個羥基之小分子,例如新戊二醇或季戊四醇,或其可為一種聚合多元醇,例如聚酯多元醇或丙烯酸多元醇。丙烯酸多元醇尤其合適。
本發明進一步係關於一種塗料組合物,其包括具有1:>10至1:10000,例如1:>10至1:5000或1:50至1:4000之含活性氫化合物與交酯之重量比之交酯反應產物。該交酯反應產物,有時於本文中稱為「過量交酯反應產物」及類似術語,其可單獨或與一種或更多種額外成膜樹脂例如上述此等結合使用。該過量交酯反應產物可以塗料之0.5至75,例如1至60或2至40重量%或其任一組合之量使用,其重量%係基於該塗料之總固體重量。令人驚訝地發現相比於缺乏此反應產物之塗料,塗料中使用過量交酯反應產物可改良黏著性。因此,該過量交酯反應產物可使用習知塗料之添加量,或可佔該塗料之相對大量且可發現改良之黏著性。含有該過量交酯反應產物之塗料組合物可能進一步包括一交聯劑或可不含交聯劑。用於形成該過量交酯反應產物之含活性氫化合物及/或交酯可為或可不為生物質衍生者或可包括生物質衍生化合物與非生物質衍生化合物之組合。上述任何一種含活性氫化合物及交酯均可使用於本文。
本發明之塗料組合物亦可包含在一種或更多組分中之溶劑及/或反應稀釋劑。該塗料組合物亦可為100%固體。合適溶劑包含水、有機溶劑及/或其混合物。合適有機溶劑包含二醇、二醇醚醇、醇類、酮類、及芳香族化合物(例如二甲苯及甲苯)、乙酸酯、礦油精、石腦油及/或其混合物。「乙酸酯」包含二醇醚乙酸酯。該溶劑係生物質衍生者。生物質衍生的溶劑實例包含乳酸之酯類及大豆油脂肪酸之酯類。在某些實施例中,該溶劑係非水性溶劑。「非水性溶劑」及類似術語意指少於50%之溶劑為水。例如,少於10%,或甚至少於5%之溶劑為水。應瞭解溶劑混合物(含有或不含有水的量少於50%),可構成「非水性溶劑」。在其他實施例中,該塗料係水性或以水為主。此意指50%或更多之溶劑係水。此等實施例具有少於50%,例如少於20%,少於10%,少於5%或少於2%之溶劑。
若需要,該塗料組合物可在任一組分中包括調配塗料之此項技術中熟知之其它視需要材料,例如著色劑、增塑劑、耐磨粒子、抗氧化劑、受阻胺光穩定劑、紫外吸收劑及穩定劑、界面活性劑、流量控製劑、消泡劑、潤濕劑、觸變劑、填料、蠟、潤滑劑、強化劑、穩定劑、有機輔溶劑、反應性稀釋劑、催化劑、研磨載體及其他的慣用助劑。
「耐磨粒子」係一種當在塗料中使用時與缺少該粒子之相同塗料比可賦予該塗料一定耐磨程度之粒子。合適的耐磨粒子包含有機及/或無機粒子。合適的有機粒子之實例包括,但不限於,鑽石顆粒,例如鑽石粉粒子,及由碳化物材料形成之粒子;碳化物粒子之實例包含,但不限於,碳化鈦,碳化矽及碳化硼。合適的無機粒子之實例包含,但不限於,氧化矽、氧化鋁、矽酸氧化鋁、氧化矽氧化鋁、鹼金屬鋁矽酸鹽、硼矽酸鹽玻璃、氮化物(包含氮化硼及氮化矽)、氧化物(包含二氧化鈦及氧化鋅)、石英、霞石正長巖、鋯石(例如氧化鋯形式)、斜方鋯及異性石。可使用任何大小之粒子,如不同粒子及/或不同大小之粒子之混合物。例如,該粒子可係微粒,其具有0.1至50,0.1至20,1至12,1至10,或3至6微米,或此等範圍內任一組合之平均粒度。該粒子可為奈米粒子,其具有小於0.1微米,例如0.8至500,10至100,或100至500nm,或此等範圍內任一組合之平均粒度。
本文所使用之術語「著色劑」意指賦予該組合物顏色及/或其他不透明度及/或其他可視效果之任何物質。該著色劑可以任何適宜形式(例如分散顆粒、分散液、溶液及/或片狀)加至該塗料中。本發明之塗料中可使用單種著色劑或兩種或多種著色劑之混合物。
著色劑之實例包括顏料、染料和色彩,例如在塗料工業中所用及/或於乾顏色製造商協會(DCMA)列舉之物質,以及特殊效果組合物。著色劑可包含,例如,細分散的固體粉末其在使用條件下不溶但可濕潤。著色劑可為有機或無機的及可為凝集狀或非凝集狀。著色劑可藉由研磨或簡單混合併入該塗料中。著色劑可藉由使用研磨載體併入該塗料中,例如丙烯酸研磨載體,其使用對於熟習此項技術者係習知者。
顏料及/或顏料組合物之實例包括,但不限於,咔唑二噁嗪粗顏料、偶氮、單偶氮、雙偶氮、萘酚AS、鹽型(深紅顏料)、苯并咪唑酮、縮合物、金屬絡合物、異吲哚啉酮、異吲哚啉及多環狀酞菁、喹吖酮、二萘嵌苯、哌酮、二酮基吡咯并吡咯、硫靛藍、蒽醌、陰丹士林、蒽嘧啶、黃烷酮、皮蒽酮、蒽嵌蒽醌、二噁嗪、三芳基碳鎓、喹諾芬顏料、二酮基吡咯并吡咯紅(「DPPBO red」)、二氧化鈦、碳黑、碳纖維、石墨、其他導電顏料及/或填料及其混合物。該術語「顏料」及「有顏色填料」可交替使用。
染料之實例包括,但不限於溶劑及/或水性為主之該等,例如酸性染料、偶氮染料、鹼性染料、直接染料、分散性染料、反應性染料、溶劑染料、硫染料、媒染劑(例如,釩酸鉍、蒽醌、萘嵌鋁、喹吖啶酮、噻唑、噻嗪、偶氮、青黛、硝基、亞硝基、噁嗪、酞菁、喹啉、二苯乙烯、及三苯基甲烷)。
色彩之實例包括,但不限於,分散於水基或水混溶載體之顏料,例如AQUC-CHEM 896購自Degussa,Inc.;CHARISMA COLORANTS及MAXITONER INDUSTRIAL COLORANTS購自伊士曼化學公司精密分散體部門。
如上所述,著色劑可呈分散體形式,其包括,但不限於,奈米級粒子分散體。奈米粒子分散體可包括一種或更多種高度分散之奈米粒子著色劑及/或著色劑粒子,其等可產生所需可視顏色及/或不透明性及/或可視效果。奈米粒子分散體包括著色劑(例如色素或染料),其具有小於150nm,例如小於70nm或小於30nm之粒度。可藉由以小於0.5mm粒度之研磨介質磨碎原料有機或無機顏料製得奈米粒子。在美國專利第6,875,800 B2號中確定奈米分散體實例及其製造方法。奈米分散體也可藉由結晶、沉澱、氣相冷凝、及化學磨損(即,部份溶解)之方法製造。為使塗料中奈米粒子之再凝聚最小化,可使用經樹脂塗佈的奈米粒子之分散體。如本文所用之「經樹脂塗佈的奈米粒子之分散體」指一種其中離散地分散「複合微粒子」之連續相,該複合微粒子包括奈米顆粒及塗覆在該奈米顆粒上之樹脂。經樹脂塗佈的奈米粒子之分散體實例及其製造方法在美國專利公開案第2005-0287348 A1、美國專利申請公開案第2005-0287348 A1號、及美國專利申請公開案第2006-0251879號中確定。
可使用之特殊效果組合物之實例包括顏料及/或能產生一種或更多外觀效應例如反射、珠光、金屬光澤、磷光、螢光、光致變色、光敏性、熱致變色、角致變色及/或顏色變化之組合物。額外的特殊效果組合物可提供其他的可感知性質,例如不透明度或紋理。在非限制實施例中,特殊效果組合物可產生顏色變化,以便當從不同角度看該塗料時,該塗料顏色改變。美國專利第6,894,086號中確定色彩效果組合物之實例。額外色彩效果組合物可包括透明的經塗覆之雲母及/或合成雲母、經塗覆之矽、經塗覆之氧化鋁、透明液晶顏料、液晶塗料及/或其中因材料內部折射率差異所產生之干擾而不是因為材料表面與空氣折射率差異所致之任何組合物。
在某些實施例中,光敏組合物及/或光致變色組合物(當處於一種或多種光源時,其可逆改變顏色)可使用在本發明之塗料中。光致變色及/或光敏組合物藉由曝露在特定波長之輻射中激活。當該組合物受激活時,其分子結構改變及改變之結構呈現出不同於該組合物之原始顏色之新的顏色。當移開該曝露之輻射時,該光致變色及/或光敏組合物可回復到基態,其也恢復到該組合物之原始顏色。在一非限制實施例中,光致變色及/或光敏組合物在非激活狀態下可能係無色及在激活狀態下呈現顏色。全色彩變化可在毫秒至數分鐘,例如從20秒至60秒內出現。光致變色及/或光敏組合物之實例包括光致變色染料。
在一實施例中,該光敏組合物和/或光致變色組合物可與聚合物及/或可聚合組分之聚合材料締合及/或至少部分例如藉由共價鍵鍵結至該聚合物及/或可聚合組分之聚合材料。與其中該光敏組合物可能遷移離開該塗層並結晶進入該基材內之某些塗料相反,與本發明非限制實施例之聚合物及/或可聚合組分締合及/或至少部分與其鍵結之光敏組合物及/或光致變色組合物具有遷移離開該塗料之量最低的性質。光敏組合物及/或光致變色組合物及其製造方法實例確認於2004年7月16日申請之美國專利申請案號第10/892,919號中。
一般地,該著色劑可以任何足以賦予所需的視覺及/或顏色效果之量存在。該著色劑可包括本發明組合物之1至65重量%,例如從3至40重量%或5至35重量%,其重量百分比係基於該組合物總重量。
本發明塗料組合物可應用於此項技術中已知之任何基材,例如汽車基材及工業基材。此等基材可係,例如金屬或非金屬(包含聚合物,塑料,聚碳酸酯,聚碳酸酯/丙烯酸-丁二烯-苯乙烯(「PC/ABS」),聚醯胺,木材,膠合板,複合木材,刨花板,中密度纖維板,水泥,石材,等)。在本發明特別適合之實施例中,基材本身係生物可降解的。生物可降解基材包括,例如紙張,木材及生物可降解塑料[例如纖維素,聚(乳酸),聚(3-羥基丁酸酯)及以殿粉為底質之塑料]。此外,該基材係可回收者。基材亦可係已經用某種方法處理以賦予顏色及/或其他視覺效果之基材。例如,已染色之木材基材接著可如本發明被塗佈,就如同其上已施加有一種或更多之其他塗層之基材。
如本文所用的,術語與基材相關「聚醯胺」意指由包含通式:之重複單元之聚合物構成之基材,其中R係氫或烷基。該聚醯胺可能係任何一大類以鏈中基於脂肪族、脂環族或芳香基團之聚醯胺。其形式上可以二胺與二酸及/或二醯氯之縮合產物、以胺基酸(例如ω-胺基十一烷酸)之自身縮合產物、或以環内醯胺(例如己内醯胺、十二烷內醯胺、或吡咯烷酮)之開環反應產物表示。其可含有一或多個伸烷基、伸芳基或伸芳烷基重複單元。該聚醯胺可為結晶無定形。在某些實施例中,該聚醯胺基材包括具有4至12個碳原子之伸烷基重複單元之結晶聚醯胺[例如聚(己内醯胺)(尼龍6)、聚(十二烷基內醯胺)(尼龍12)、聚(ω-胺基十一烷酸)(尼龍11)、聚(六亞甲基己二醯胺)(尼龍6.6)、聚(六亞甲基癸二醯胺)(尼龍6.10)],及/或伸烷基/伸芳基共聚醯胺[例如由對-二甲苯二胺及己二酸製得者(尼龍MXD6)]。術語「尼龍」包含所有此等產物以及任何其他此項技術中稱為尼龍之化合物。無定形聚醯胺,例如衍生自異佛爾酮二胺或三甲基環己烷二胺之此等物質也可使用。亦可使用聚醯胺摻合物。
本文所使用的,術語「聚醯胺」當表示基材時,包含加固的聚醯胺基材,該加固的聚醯胺基材係藉由內含例如,纖維材料(例如玻璃纖維或碳纖維)、或無機填料(例如碳酸鈣等)而加固之聚醯胺所構成之聚醯胺基材,以生產與不包含這種加固材料之類似聚醯胺相比具有增強之剛性、強度、及/或耐熱性。適用於本發明某些實例之基材材料之加固的聚醯胺,係可購得且包括,例如以IXEF商品名購自Solvay Advanced Polymers之該等材料,其包括,例如IXEF 1000、1500、1600、2000、2500、3000及5000系列產品;以GRILAMID、GRIVORY、GRILON及GRILFLEX商品名購自EMS-Chemie Inc.,Sumter,South Carolina,及杜邦工程聚合物,例如以THERMX及MINLON商品名銷售者。
本發明該塗料可藉用此項於技術中任何標準裝置,例如電塗裝、噴塗、靜電噴塗、浸塗、輥塗、刷塗等施加。
自本發明該塗料組合物可施加成任何乾膜厚度之塗層,例如0.1至4密耳,0.3至2密耳或0.7至1.3密耳。本發明塗料可單獨使用,或與其他一種或多種塗料組合使用。例如,本發明塗料可包括或不包括著色劑且可使用作為底層塗料、預塗漆、底漆、面漆、汽車修復漆等。作為塗佈有多層塗層料之基材而言,彼等塗料之一種或多種係本文所述之塗料。在某些實施例中,含有過量交酯反應物之基底塗料可與包括交酯反應物之透明塗料結合使用,透明塗料或基底塗料之一者或兩者可進一步包括交聯劑。
除非另有相反表示,否則本文所用之所有表示值例如彼等表述之值、範圍、數量或百分比之所有數字均可字前加以「約」字,即使該術語沒有明確出現。此外,本文所敘述之任何數值範圍意圖包含其內之所有子範圍。單數包括複數且反之亦然。例如,儘管本文(包括請求項)表示為含兩個或更多活性氫基團之「一」化合物、「一」交酯、「一」交聯劑、「一」交酯反應產物、「一」過量交酯反應物等,但可使用一種或多種各該等及任何其他組分。「包括」意指「包括,但不限於」。本文所用之術語「聚合物」指低聚物及同時指均聚物及共聚物,且字首「聚」指兩個或多個。
下列實例係用於解釋本發明,且不應解釋為以任何方式限制本發明。
大豆多元醇/交酯加成物-1:2羥基:交酯比
將組分1、2和3饋入具有攪拌器、氮氣入口、熱電偶及充滿甲苯之丁-斯達克冷凝器之瓶中。該混合物溫度上升至回流且維持15分鐘及然後冷卻至80℃。加入組分4及5且溫度上升至125℃且維持八小時,如果回流於低溫下進行,則溶劑自丁-斯達克冷凝器流出。該反應產物具有98.9%之固體含量及2400之數平均分子量。
交酯改質丙烯酸多元醇-1:1羥基:交酯比
使組分1在具有攪拌器、熱電偶、氮氣入口及冷凝器之瓶中溫度上升至回流。調整整過過程之溫度以持續回流,除非有相反說明。組分2-8以180分鐘內以均一速率加入。30分鐘後,以10分鐘加入組分9和10。30分鐘後,以10分鐘加入組分11及12。維持回流60分鐘且接著溫度降至90℃。加入組分13及14且溫度上升至125℃並維持8小時。最後加入組分15。該反應產物具有53.6%之固體含量及2900之數平均分子量。
甘油/交酯加成物-1:3羥基:交酯比
將組分1-3饋入具有攪拌器、氮氣入口、熱電偶及充滿甲苯之丁-斯達克冷凝器之瓶中。混合物溫度提高至回流且維持15分鐘及然後冷卻至80℃。添加組分4和5且溫度上升至125℃並維持八小時,如果回流於較低溫下進行,則溶劑自冷凝器流出。然後加入組分6。該反應產物具有76.3%之固體含量及1350之數平均分子量。
大豆多元醇/交酯加成物-1:2羥基:交酯比
將組分1及2饋入具有攪拌器、熱電偶、氮氣入口及充滿甲苯之丁-斯達克冷凝器之瓶中。混合物溫度上升至回流且維持15分鐘及然後冷卻至80℃。添加組分3、4及5且溫度提高至125℃且維持八小時,如果回流在較低溫下進行,則溶劑自該丁斯達克冷凝器流出。然後加入組分6。該反應產物具有82.1%之固體含量及2550之數平均分子量。
使用表1所示之成份及量(以克計)製造用於對比目的之兩種塗料組合物(「C1」及「C2」)及本發明之一種塗料(「本塗料」)。該樣本係按如下方法製造。除了異氰酸酯以外,所有成份一起稱入2盎司罐中並振盪10分鐘以使其等組合。添加異氰酸酯且以手攪拌直到均勻。接著將調配之塗料塗佈於冷軋鋼板上供性質測試,及塗佈於鋁板上供生物可降解性及濕度測試。該塗佈方法係用58號捲繞線棒塗抹。該等板在室溫閃光10分鐘且然後在180℉下烘烤30分鐘。
該等板直到第二天才進行測試。最後薄層係2.2密爾至2.7密爾厚。表1也列舉了硬度測試、濕度測試之結果及堆肥曝露結果。
含丙烯酸共聚物及大豆多元醇之塗料組合物C1及C2無顯示生物可降解性之證據。本塗料組合物(含交酯改質大豆多元醇)具有類似於丙烯酸標準型物質之硬度和耐濕性,但顯示堆肥處理後之生物可降解性之證據。
生物可降解塗料組合物係使用表2中列舉之組分製造及施加於上述鋼板上。
該等實例說明含有不同量聚(乳酸)部份之塗料之製備。所有塗料具有可接受之硬度及耐衝擊性。
使用表3顯示之成份及量(以克計)製備用於對比目的之塗料組合物(「C1」)及本發明之塗料(「本塗料」)。除了異氰酸酯以外,所有成份一起稱入2盎司罐中並振盪10分鐘使其等組合。添加異氰酸酯並以手攪拌直至均勻。接著調配之塗料塗佈於冷軋鋼板中。塗佈方法係用58號捲繞線棒塗抹。該鋼板於室溫閃光10分鐘,且然後於180℉烘烤30分鐘。
最終薄膜係2.2到2.7密爾厚。
此等結果證明以交酯改質之大豆多元醇取代大豆多元醇導致異氰酸酯與三聚氰胺交聯塗料之硬度提高。
雖然本發明已藉上述特定實施例作為說明目的,但熟悉此項技術者將顯而易知本發明中可產生各種細節變化而不脫離本發明所界定之附加申請專利範圍。
Claims (23)
- 一種交聯塗料,其包括a)以下之反應產物i)含有兩個或更多活性氫基團之化合物,其包括多元醇,其中該多元醇包括從生物質衍生之具有20至400之羥值的多元醇或大豆多元醇;及ii)交酯;以及b)交聯劑;其中該反應產物具有40至350之羥值,且其中該塗料包括20重量%之聚(乳酸)單元,其重量%係基於該塗料之總固體重量。
- 如請求項1之塗料,其中該塗料包括32重量%之聚(乳酸)單元,其重量%係基於該塗料之總固體重量。
- 如請求項2之塗料,其中該塗料包括38重量%之聚(乳酸)單元,其重量%係基於該塗料之總固體重量。
- 如請求項1之塗料,其中該交聯劑包括多異氰酸酯、封端多異氰酸酯及/或三聚氰胺甲醛。
- 如請求項1之塗料,其中該塗料為多組份之塗料,且a)係於第一組份中及b)係於第二組份中。
- 如請求項1之塗料,其中該塗料為單組份塗料。
- 如請求項1之塗料,其中該反應產物具有80至220之羥值。
- 一種基材,其係至少部份塗佈有如請求項1之塗料。
- 如請求項8之基材,其中該基材係金屬。
- 如請求項8之基材,其中該基材係非金屬。
- 如請求項8之基材,其中該基材係聚合物。
- 如請求項8之基材,其中該基材係尼龍。
- 如請求項8之基材,其中該基材係PC/ABS。
- 如請求項8之基材,其中該基材係生物可降解。
- 如請求項1之塗料,其中該反應產物中之含有兩個或更多活性氫基團之化合物與交酯的重量比為1:10至1:10,000。
- 如請求項15之塗料,其中該重量比為1:50至1:4000。
- 一種基材,其係至少部份塗佈有如請求項15之塗料。
- 如請求項17之基材,其中該基材係生物可降解。
- 一種塗料,其包括以下之反應產物:i)含有兩個或更多活性氫基團之化合物,其包括多元醇,其中該多元醇包括從生物質衍生之具有20至400之羥值的多元醇或大豆多元醇;及ii)交酯;其中i)與ii)的重量比為1:10至1:10,000,且該反應產物具有40至350之羥值,且其中該塗料包括20重量%之聚(乳酸)單元,其重量%係基於該塗料之總固體重量。
