Description

透明基板上之導向型影像塗布膜
本發明關於一種用於有價及ID文件之安全元件。更具體而言,本發明關於透明基板上之角度依存影像(angle-dependent image),較佳為若分別自正面側或反面側觀察,則以正或負浮雕(positive or negative relief)方式顯示3維效果。
使用各種型式之光學可變元件作為安全及有價文件上之有效的反影印工具。其中,特別重要的光學可變影印保護工具為光學可變墨(optically variable inks)(OVI;EP-A-0227423)。使用光學可變墨(OVI)來印刷表面及/或指示而顯現視角依存顏色(即顏色轉換)。
該些反影印墨(anti-copying ink)包括光學可變顏料(OVPTM );較佳型式為US4,705,300、US4,705,356、US4,721,271及其相關公開中所述之薄片狀薄膜光學干涉顏料。
印墨或塗布膜中的磁性光學可變顏料能透過施加相對應的磁場而產生磁致(magnetically induced)影像、圖像及/或圖案,將塗布膜中磁性光學可變顏料予以導向,接著乾燥/固化塗布膜。結果為以光學可變墨形成固定的磁致影像、圖像或圖案。依其布置,雖然印刷本身維持為幾何平坦,但該些影像、圖案或圖像被感覺為具有3維或似浮雕外觀。
揭露於相同申請人之同在申請中的歐洲專利申請案EP06113891.3之磁性光學可變印墨特別適合用於生產磁致影像,各別內容以引用的方式併入本文。
用以將塗布組成物中磁性粒子導向之材料及技術,及相對應之印刷製程已被揭露在US 2,418,479、US 2,570,856、US 3,791,864、US 3,676,273、US 5,364,689、US 6,103,361、US 2004/0051297、US 2004/0009309、US 2002/0160194、WO 02/09002、US 2005/0106367、WO 04/007095、WO 2005/058608及WO 2005/002866,以引用的方式將此等文獻之各自內容併入本文。
該些先前技術文獻提供各種方法及設備以在基板上產生磁性影像塗布膜。在所有案例中,以僅能從基板的單一側觀看之方式提供該磁性影像塗布膜,尤其是從印刷側。尚無揭露使用正面-反面磁性導向塗布膜。
本發明課題係提供一種安全元件,其允許路人以肉眼進行辨認如鈔票之物品的真實性。
根據本發明,藉由申請專利範圍第1項之安全元件以解決此課題。更具體而言,本發明關於一種安全元件,其包括透明基板及該基板上之磁性導向塗布膜。
驚人地發現包括透明基板之光學可變安全元件,其允許從正面及反面側觀察配置於透明基板上的塗布膜,該塗布膜透過將顏料薄片導向(例如利用施加磁場)而產生具有特殊視覺外觀的設計,較佳為3D外觀,係用於快速目視(明白的)辨認文件真實性之極可貴的安全元件,特別是透明項目或包括透明區域的項目。事實上,改變觀察側可將明顯的3D浮雕反轉(特佳為磁性所產生);因此得以翻轉文件而觀察磁致影像之反轉(inversion of the magnetically induced image),以便快速地辨認文件真實性。
影像塗布膜之磁導向造成能依觀察該影像塗布膜之視角而改變的視覺效果。較佳地,當從上或下側(正面或反面側)觀看該影像時,此效果為被回復的3維效果。然而,亦可為如切換光學效果(switching optical effect)或滾動棒式(rolling bar-type)影像之其他視覺效果。
例如,若圖樣被感知為圓形彎曲,則最大反射線或點出現在圖樣上;依觀察側,該線或點不是以相同的感覺(凸出外觀)就是以相反的感覺(凹陷外觀)而隨觀察角度移動。
本發明之安全元件為透明基板上的角度依存影像,較佳為布置成顯示3維效果,當從正面或反面側觀察時分別呈現出如第1圖所圖示之正或負浮雕,於下文更詳細地描述第1圖。依觀察側,3維影像會呈現來自表面或進入平面。
合適的3D圖樣範例為圓柱體、半球體、三角錐體、圓錐體、屋頂形等。可進一步結合數種幾何形狀。它們簡單的外觀能被容易地辨識為自影像的平面湧出或潛入影像的平面。亦可產生如數字、文字、圖形或商標之更複雜的圖樣。本發明之安全元件較佳為與顏色轉移元件(color-shifting element)結合,例如揭露於WO 04/007095中的「切換光學效果」(switching optical effect)及「滾動棒型影像」(rolling bar-type image)。
本發明之安全元件能僅藉由翻轉文件或項目而以肉眼被簡單地辨識,並觀察任一面上之角度依存影像。因此非常適合路人使用,提供路人簡單的方法來檢查例如鈔票的真實性。
本發明之安全元件能進一步於上面積層透明箔(transparent foil),以便增加安全元件之耐性及壽命。
透明基板能為任何塑膠或聚合物材料,其在可見光譜(即400 nm~700 nm之波長範圍內)之至少一部分中為透明。事實上,若人類觀察者能至少於一部分的可見光譜領域看穿基板,便足以目視辨識明顯的安全元件。透明基板較佳為選自聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯、聚碳酸酯、聚氯乙烯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚丙烯腈、聚苯乙烯、聚丙烯、聚對苯二甲酸萘酯及其混合物或共聚物。
可將該透明基板全部地或部分地予以著色,其限制條件為在至少一部分之可見光譜中具有透明性,以使人類觀察者能看穿例如透明基板及積層材(laminate),並能由兩側(積層化產品之正面及反面)察覺磁致影像。
本發明內文中之「透明」意指:「在一部分可見光譜(波長400 nm~700 nm)中具有光學透明性」。
透明基板上的角度依存影像為藉由施加、導向及乾燥/固化透明基板上之磁性導向塗布膜而產生,例如根據由相同申請人所申請之同在申請中的申請案EP06113891.3,其內容以引用的方式併入本文。
如此,在透明基板上產生該磁致影像塗布膜之製程包括下列步驟:(a)將包括可磁導向顏料(magnetically orientable pigment)之塗布組成物施加於透明基板表面;(b)利用施加磁場而將步驟(a)所施加的塗布組成物中的磁性顏料粒子予以導向,以便產生會隨觀察該影像塗布膜之視角而變化之特定視覺效果,例如若從正面或反面側觀察,塗布膜分別呈現正或負浮雕之3維效果;及(c)將步驟(b)之導向塗布組成物加以固化/乾燥,以將粒子固定於經導向的位置。
詳言之,為產生該磁致影像塗布膜,藉由如銅板凹版印刷(copper plate intaglio printing)、快乾印刷(flexographic printing)、凹版印刷(gravure printing)、絹網印刷(silkscreen printing)或輥塗布(roller coating)之印刷製程,將包括可磁導向顏料(較佳為磁性光學可變介面顏料)之印墨或塗布組成物施加至該透明基板,且將磁性顏料予以導向,例如根據WO 2005/002866;最後如熟習技藝者已知而將塗布膜予以乾燥/固化。
適合的印墨或塗布組成物係揭露於同在申請中的歐洲專利申請案EP06113891.3,其中非常詳細地描述磁性光學可變印墨或塗布組成物,其具有作為顏料粒子之磁性導向的所需特性以在該塗布膜中形成圖案、影像或圖樣。
包含於磁性光學可變印墨或塗布組成物之顏料較佳為選自真空沉積磁性薄膜干涉顏料、干涉塗布金屬顏料、干涉塗布非金屬顏料、磁性液晶顏料及其混合物之磁性光學可變干涉顏料。根據本發明,較佳為使用根據WO 02/073520、US 4,838,648、EP-A 688675、WO 02/73250、WO 03/00801或US 6,838,166之磁性光學可變顏料。真空沉積磁性薄膜干涉顏料能選自US 4,838,648及WO 02/73250之5層及7層真空沉積磁性薄膜干涉顏料。
藉由施加適合的磁場而將該塗布膜中之磁性顏料予以導向,較佳地以便顯示3維效果。導向步驟(b)能與塗布步驟(a)同步進行或在塗布步驟(a)之後進行。磁性粒子之磁性導向已在技藝中被描述。在本申請案前言部分被引用之先前技術文件可做為此方面的參考。
能藉由揮發性化合物之物理蒸發(physical evaporation)、UV固化、氧化網狀物(oxidative reticulation)、化學交聯、電子束固化或其任何組合來進行固化/乾燥步驟(c)。
產生該安全元件之製程可進一步包括在磁致影像塗布膜上面積層透明箔(transparent foil)之步驟,以便增加安全元件之耐性及壽命。該透明箔能選自聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯、聚碳酸酯、聚氯乙烯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚丙烯腈、聚苯乙烯、聚丙烯、聚對苯二甲酸萘酯及其混合物或共聚物。如此,應用於選擇透明的在上積層箔(over-laminated foil)的標準係與透明基板相同。在特別的具體實施例中,將磁致影像塗布膜予以配置於相同類型之兩塑膠箔之間。
本發明之安全元件可進一步包括其他標記手段(marking means),例如紅外線標記、如螢光標記或磷光標記之冷光標記、UV標記、磁性標記、法醫標記(forensic marker)或其混合物,及其他安全元件(例如全像片(hologram)等)、物理性凸出浮雕或指標(physically embossed relief or indicia)。
本發明之安全元件之特性為當從背側照明安全元件時,例如在照明桌上或拿著對著如燈泡或天空之照明背景時,顏色、明顯的浮雕及顏色轉換性質會失效。
此額外效果進一步加強本發明之安全元件的價值,因為其允許藉由前光(front-light)對比背光(back-light)的觀察而快速的辨識真實性。事實上,察覺本發明之安全元件之角度依存性、正面-反面3維浮雕特徵係取決於正面照明的狀況(front-lighting conditions)。
再者,在半透明(translucidity)中本發明之安全元件之察覺亦取決於透明基板及上積層箔之局部著色。此致使熟悉技藝者進一步實現令人關注的具體實施例。
能將本發明之安全元件用於安全文件或如鈔票;信用卡;門禁卡;安全證章;有價、權利或辨識文件;車票;彩劵;門票;稅旗(tax banderole);保安線條(security thread);標籤;箔;開封帶(tear-strip)或產品安全性應用之安全物品,作為對抗仿冒品非法重製之保護。
一般而言,該安全文件或安全物品必須具有施加本發明之安全元件的透明區域。此能藉由將視窗(windows)、線條(threads)及其類似物整合至該文件,例如以透明箔覆蓋打出的孔,或者,替換地,該文件完全由此種透明基板製成,提供透明區域,即無墨或塗布膜的區域。一些由聚合物基板製成的貨幣提供此種透明區域,因而能載有本發明之安全元件。
現在,將藉由參考非限制性範例及圖式而進一步說明本發明。
如第1圖所示,當從一側或另一側觀看時,本發明之角度依存影像(圖樣、圖案)應能簡易地察覺浮雕,不是出自平面之影像就是進入平面之影像。
在第2圖中,關於正面側及反面側之3D效果未發現特別的差異。儘管如此,在原物上,在正面側(a)上的「20」呈現出在凹面上的正浮雕,然而在反面側(b)上的「20」呈現出在凸面上的負浮雕。此說明本發明之安全元件非為可影印或可掃瞄。
第3圖係一截面示意圖,顯示如何能藉由粒子之適當導向而將浮雕或3D外觀製造成幾何平面塗布膜。塗布膜2中之顏料薄片1係以相同的方式予以導向,猶如該些顏料薄片1出現在半球體表面3上但向下突出進入塗布膜表面。在正面圖a),固定於彼等位置之該些薄片提供非常相同的外觀,猶如彼等出現在凸狀半球體上。在反面圖b),顏料薄片係以猶如彼等出現在凹狀半球體上的方式呈現。
第3圖中之此浮雕可不能與物理性凸出3D浮雕結構混淆,其為不同的安全元件。事實上,本發明之安全元件能獨立地與此種凸出浮雕相結合。

第1圖顯示電腦產生之分別在正面及反面觀察浮雕文字反轉的圖示。
第2圖顯示磁致影像之複印機掃瞄結果,包括根據本發明之磁性光學可變干涉顏料。正面側及反面側兩者都被掃瞄而重製。
第3圖係一截面示意圖,顯示如何藉由粒子之適當導向而將浮雕或3D外觀製造成幾何平面塗布膜。

Claims (17)

  1. 一種安全元件,其包括透明基板及在該基板上之磁性導向影像塗布膜,其中該影像塗布膜包括從該透明基板的正面側或反面側皆可見的角度依存影像,若分別自正面側或反面側觀察,並分別呈現正或負浮雕,該影像由磁性導向磁性光學可變干涉顏料所組成。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項中之安全元件,其中該透明基板係選自由聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯、聚碳酸酯、聚氯乙烯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚丙烯腈、聚苯乙烯、聚丙烯、聚對苯二甲酸萘酯及其混合物或共聚物所組成之群。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1至2項中任一項之安全元件,其中在該磁性導向影像塗布膜上積層透明箔(transparent foil)。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第3項之安全元件,其中該透明箔係選自由聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯、聚碳酸酯、聚氯乙烯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚丙烯腈、聚苯乙烯、聚丙烯、聚對苯二甲酸萘酯及其混合物或共聚物所組成之群。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項之安全元件,其中該磁性光學可變干涉顏料係選自由真空沉積磁性薄膜干涉顏料、干涉塗布金屬顏料、干涉塗布非金屬顏料、磁性液晶顏料及其混合物所組成之群。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第5項之安全元件,其中該顏料係選自由5層及7層真空沉積磁性薄膜干涉顏料所組成之群。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第1至6項中任一項之安全元件,其中 進一步包括選自由紅外線標記、螢光標記、UV標記、磷光標記、磁性標記、法醫標記(forensic marker)及其混合物所組成之群的標記手段(marking means)。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第1至7項中任一項之安全元件,其中進一步包括其他安全元件係選自由全像片(hologram)、凸出浮雕(embossed relief)、指標(indicia)或其組合所組成之群。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第1至8項中任一項之安全元件,其中進一步包括顏色轉移元件(color-shifting element)。
  10. 一種製造如申請專利範圍第1至9項中任一項之安全元件之方法,其包括下列步驟:a.將包括可磁導向磁性光學可變干涉顏料之塗布組成物施加於透明基板表面;b.利用施加磁場而將步驟a所施加之該塗布組成物中的該些磁性光學可變干涉顏料予以導向;及c.將步驟b之該導向塗布組成物加以固化/乾燥,以將該顏料固定於經導向的位置,而形成從該透明基板的正面側或反面側皆可見的角度依存影像,且若分別自正面側或反面側觀察,並分別呈現正或負浮雕。
  11. 如申請專利範圍第10項之方法,其中進一步包括在該磁致影像塗布膜上面積層透明箔之步驟。
  12. 如申請專利範圍第10至11項中任一項之方法,其中該固化/乾燥步驟c係藉由物理蒸發(physical evaporation)、UV固化、氧化網狀物(oxidative reticulation)、化學交 聯、電子束固化或其任何組合來進行。
  13. 如申請專利範圍第10至12項中任一項之方法,其中該步驟a係以選自由銅板凹版印刷(copperplate intaglio printing)、快乾印刷(flexographic printing)、凹版印刷(gravure printing)、絹網印刷(silkscreen printing)及輥塗布(roller coating)所組成之群之印刷製程進行。
  14. 一種如申請專利範圍第1至9項中任一項之安全元件之用途。
  15. 如申請專利範圍第14項之用途,其中該安全文件選自由鈔票;信用卡;門禁卡;安全證章;有價、權利或辨識文件;車票;彩劵:門票;稅旗(tax banderole);保安線條(security thread);標籤;箔;線條(strip)及產品安全性應用所組成的群組。
  16. 一種文件,其包括至少一種如申請專利範圍第1至9項中任一項之安全元件。
  17. 如申請專利範圍第16項之文件,其中該文件選自由鈔票;信用卡;門禁卡;安全證章;有價、權利或辨識文件;車票;彩劵;門票;稅旗;保安線條;標籤;箔;開封帶(tear-strip)或產品安全性應用所組成的群組。
