Description

具有雙面出光結構之背光模組及顯示裝置
本發明係提供一種具有雙面出光結構之背光模組及顯示裝置,尤指一種將複數個發光二極體分別設置於軟性電路板之兩側,以達到雙面出光效果之背光模組及顯示裝置。
由於液晶本身並不會發光,因此背光模組可謂為液晶顯示面板的關鍵零組件,其主要功能便在供應亮度充分及分佈均勻的光源,以使液晶顯示面板能夠正常顯示影像。而隨著液晶顯示器面板已廣泛應用於眾多具成長潛力的電子產品,如監視器、筆記型電腦、數位相機、投影機等等,背光模組及其相關零組件的需求也持續成長中。而近年來發光二極體的應用領域不斷地被開發。發光二極體係屬冷發光,具有耗電量低、元件壽命長、無須暖燈時間、反應速度快等優點,再加上其體積小、耐震動、適合量產,容易配合應用需求製成極小或陣列式的元件等優點,故發光二極體現在已被廣泛地應用為背光模組所需之光源。
一般來說,具有雙面出光結構之背光模組可以應用在液晶電視和筆記型電腦等產品,更可應用在大型看板等戶外顯示裝置,其優點是兩顯示面板可共用一組背光模組就可達到雙面顯示效果,而現行雙面背光模組大多採用冷陰極管(CCFL)作為其光源,然而冷陰極管有演色性不佳、需高驅動電壓、含汞(Hg)會造成環境污染、發光頻譜含紫外光(UV)波段、啟動速度慢、燈管易破裂、及色度控制不易等諸多缺點,故以發光二極體作為雙面背光模組背光源之應用便用來改善上述問題。請參閱第1圖,第1圖為先前技術一雙面背光模組10之示意圖,雙面背光模組10包含有兩發光二極體燈條12,各發光二極體燈條12包含有一基板14,以及複數個發光二極體16,其係設置於基板14上。基板14通常為鋁基板或玻璃纖維板,藉以用來承載複數個發光二極體16,而為了要達到雙面背光效果,雙面背光模組10需要兩倍的發光二極體燈條12,如此便造成製造成本與組裝厚度之增加,且鋁基板或玻璃纖維板需要額外設置導線連接於直流電源,藉以提供發光二極體燈條12所需之電力,也額外地增加了元件成本。再者,為了要加強雙面背光模組10之散熱效果,通常會在兩發光二極體燈條12之間增設一金屬背板18,而兩發光二極體燈條12可黏貼於金屬背板18之兩側,故金屬背板18可散除兩發光二極體燈條12之複數個發光二極體16所產生之熱量,但增設了金屬背板18又會造成整體組裝厚度之增加。因此如何設計出一種具有較低製造成本且機構佔用空間較小之雙面出光背光模組,便為現今顯示器機構設計所需努力之課題。
本發明係提供一種具有雙面出光結構之背光模組及顯示裝置,以解決上述之問題。
本發明之申請專利範圍係揭露一種具有雙面出光結構之背光模組,其包含有一軟性電路板,其包含有一導電層,以及一絕緣層,其係包覆於該導電層;以及複數個發光二極體,其係分別設置於該軟性電路板之兩側且分別電連接於該軟性電路板之該導電層,該複數個發光二極體係用來分別朝向該軟性電路板之兩側發出光線。
本發明之申請專利範圍係另揭露該背光模組另包含至少一導熱片,其係設置於該軟性電路板之該導電層與該發光二極體之間。
本發明之申請專利範圍係另揭露該背光模組另包含一支撐件,其係連接於該軟性電路板,該支撐件係用來支撐該軟性電路板。
本發明之申請專利範圍係另揭露該支撐件係為一金屬背板,其係用來散除該複數個發光二極體所產生之熱量。
本發明之申請專利範圍係另揭露該支撐件上係形成有至少一開槽,該軟性電路板係穿設於該至少一開槽,以使該複數個發光二極體分別設置於該支撐件之兩側。
本發明之申請專利範圍係另揭露一種具有雙面出光結構之顯示裝置,其包含有一外殼、兩面板單元,其係分別安裝於該外殼內、以及一背光模組,其係安裝於該外殼內且設置於該兩面板單元之間,該背光模組係用來提供該兩面板單元所需之光源。該背光模組包含有一軟性電路板,其包含有一導電層,以及一絕緣層,其係包覆於該導電層;以及複數個發光二極體,其係分別設置於該軟性電路板之兩側且分別電連接於該軟性電路板之該導電層,該複數個發光二極體係用來分別朝向該軟性電路板之兩側發出光線,藉以分別提供該兩面板單元所需之光源。
請參閱第2圖與第3圖,第2圖為本發明較佳實施例具有雙面出光結構之一顯示裝置50之外觀示意圖,第3圖為本發明較佳實施例顯示裝置50之部分元件爆炸示意圖。顯示裝置50包含有一外殼52,其係可由塑膠材質所組成,外殼52係用來包覆內部元件;顯示裝置50另包含有兩面板單元54,其係分別安裝於外殼52內,各面板單元54可包含有光學材料層與液晶顯示面板等,其中光學材料層可用來將光線進一步霧化與聚光,以提供該液晶顯示面板均勻與高正視角亮度之光源,光學材料層可包含有稜鏡片(prism sheet)、擴散片(diffuser)等光學元件。顯示裝置50另包含有一背光模組56,其係安裝於外殼52內且設置於兩面板單元54之間,背光模組56係用來提供兩面板單元54所需之光源,也就是說背光模組56可分別朝向其兩側之兩面板單元54發射光線;而顯示裝置50可選擇性地另包含有兩反射片(reflector sheet)58,其係分別安裝於兩面板單元54與背光模組56之間,反射片58可用來將光線反射至面板單元54,藉以增加光之使用率。
請參閱第4圖與第5圖,第4圖為本發明較佳實施例背光模組56之外觀示意圖,第5圖為本發明較佳實施例背光模組56之側視示意圖,背光模組56包含有至少一軟性電路板60,各軟性電路板60包含有一導電層601,其係可為銅箔材質,軟性電路板60另包含有一絕緣層602,其係包覆於導電層601;背光模組56另包含有複數個發光二極體62,其係分別設置於軟性電路板60之兩側且分別電連接於軟性電路板60之導電層601,複數個發光二極體62係用來分別朝向軟性電路板60之兩側發出光線,藉以分別提供兩面板單元54所需之光源,其中各軟性電路板60之一端可連接於一連接器64,藉以接收複數個發光二極體62發光所需之直流電源,由於軟性電路板60本身即具導線功能,且其僅為一組發光二極體燈條,故僅需搭配一組控制電路板即可,故相較於先前技術可節省元件製造成本。此外,背光模組56另包含一支撐件66,其係連接於軟性電路板60,支撐件66係用來支撐軟性電路板60,藉以提供軟性電路板60之平面結構強度。於此實施例中支撐件66上係形成有至少一開槽661,且各軟性電路板60係分別穿設於相對應之開槽661,以使其上之複數個發光二極體62可分別設置於支撐件66之兩側,也就是說由於軟性電路板60之可撓性,故可使軟性電路板60與支撐件66間呈現一編織狀結構,如此一來複數個發光二極體62便可間隔地設置於支撐件66之兩側。至於軟性電路板60與支撐件66之開槽661之設置數量、支撐件66之開槽661之間隔,以及各軟性電路板60之距離可不侷限於本實施例圖中所示,且軟性電路板60與支撐件66間之編織形成角度與發光二極體62間隔地設置於支撐件66兩側之排列方式亦不侷限本實施例圖中所示,端視實際設計需求而定。此外,為了提升背光模組56之散熱效率,支撐件66係可為一金屬背板,其係用來散除複數個發光二極體62所產生之熱量,且背光模組56可另包含至少一導熱片(thermal pad)68,其係設置於軟性電路板60之導電層601與發光二極體62之間,藉以將發光二極體62所產生之熱量傳導至該金屬背板,導熱片68除了具有導熱效果外,其還可具有黏性,故導熱片68可將軟性印刷電路板60固定在支撐件66上。
此外,本發明背光模組之支撐件與導熱片可為選擇性之配置,請參閱第6圖,第6圖為本發明另一實施例背光模組56之側視示意圖,於此實施例中複數個發光二極體62係分別設置於軟性電路板60之兩側且直接連接於軟性電路板60之導電層601,而省略了支撐件與導熱片之配置,複數個發光二極體62係亦用來分別朝向軟性電路板60之兩側發出光線,藉以分別提供兩面板單元54所需之光源,其作用原理相同於前述實施例,於此便不再詳述。
相較於先前技術,本發明所提供之背光模組與顯示裝置係將複數個發光二極體分別設置於軟性電路板之兩側,藉以分別提供兩面板單元所需之光源而達到雙面出光效果,其可改善以冷陰極管作為雙面背光模組背光源之性能限制與造成環境污染之缺點,且其具有較低製造成本與組裝厚度較薄之優點;再者由於軟性電路板之可撓性,故可使軟性電路板與金屬背板間呈現編織狀結構,而同時提供良好之散熱效果。
以上所述僅為本發明之較佳實施例,凡依本發明申請專利範圍所做之均等變化與修飾,皆應屬本發明專利之涵蓋範圍。

Claims (6)

  1. 一種具有具有雙面出光結構之背光模組,其包含有:一軟性電路板,其包含有一導電層,以及一絕緣層,其係包覆於該導電層;複數個發光二極體,其係分別設置於該軟性電路板之兩側且分別電連接於該軟性電路板之該導電層,該複數個發光二極體係用來分別朝向該軟性電路板之兩側發出光線;以及一支撐件,其係連接於該軟性電路板,該支撐件係用來支撐該軟性電路板,該支撐件上係形成有至少一開槽,該軟性電路板係穿設於該至少一開槽,以使該複數個發光二極體分別設置於該支撐件之兩側。
  2. 如請求項1所述之背光模組,其另包含至少一導熱片,其係設置於該軟性電路板之該導電層與該發光二極體之間。
  3. 如請求項1所述之背光模組,其中該支撐件係為一金屬背板,其係用來散除該複數個發光二極體所產生之熱量。
  4. 一種具有具有雙面出光結構之顯示裝置,其包含有:一外殼;兩面板單元,其係分別安裝於該外殼內;以及一背光模組,其係安裝於該外殼內且設置於該兩面板單元之間,該背光模組係用來提供該兩面板單元所需之光源,該背光模組包含有:一軟性電路板,其包含有一導電層,以及一絕緣層,其係包覆於該導電層;複數個發光二極體,其係分別設置於該軟性電路板之兩側且分別電連接於該軟性電路板之該導電層,該複數個發光二極體係用來分別朝向該軟性電路板之兩側發出光線,藉以分別提供該兩面板單元所需之光源;以及一支撐件,其係連接於該軟性電路板,該支撐件係用來支撐該軟性電路板,該支撐件上係形成有至少一開槽,該軟性電路板係穿設於該至少一開槽,以使該複數個發光二極體分別設置於該支撐件之兩側。
  5. 如請求項4所述之顯示裝置,其中該背光模組另包含至少一導熱片,其係設置於該軟性電路板之該導電層與該發光二極體之間。
  6. 如請求項4所述之顯示裝置,其中該支撐件係為一金屬背板,其係用來散除該複數個發光二極體所產生之熱量。
