Abstract

This invention provides a process for producing anti-exfoliation corrosion Al-Mg alloy plate. The process contains preparing, casting, hot rolling and water cooling procedures. In thisprocess, 3.50~5.80 wt% of Mg, 0.10~1.20 wt% of Mn, 0~0.25 wt% of Cr, 0~0.20 wt% of Ti, 0~0.10 wt% of Cu are melted and casted into alloy ingot. The ingots are preheated at 480 deg.C~520 deg.C for 1~5hr, then hot rolled to final products. The hot roll finishing temperature is 200~270 deg.C, and the rolling ratio is 20~40%. The hot rolled plates are immediately water cooled down to below120 deg.C. Thus, Al-Mg alloy plates with superior mechanicalproperties and anti-exfoliation corrosion are produced.
