Abstract

The production method of the metal oxide particle film of the invention is a method for producing a metal oxide particle film containing metal oxide particles, and includes: a process of forming a first liquid film composed of a first liquid in a lyophilic region of a substrate having the lyophilic region and a repellent region on the surface, wherein the first liquid contains a first solvent and exhibits a pH that an absolute value of the difference with respect to an isoelectric point of the metal oxide particles is 0.5 or less; and a process of applying a second liquid, which contains metal oxide particles and a second solvent, on the first liquid film to form a second liquid film and then removing the first solvent and the second solvent to form the metal oxide particle film, wherein the second liquid has a surface tension smaller than a surface tension of the first liquid by 5mN/m or more and exhibits a pH that an absolute value of the difference with respect to the isoelectric point of the metal oxide particles is 3.0 or more.
