Abstract
本發明揭示一種袋型二次電池及製造彼之方法。該袋型二次電池包括藉由附接上片及下片所形成之袋型外殼,以及容納在該袋型外殼中之電極組。一種用於改善密封性之聚合物塗層係另外包括在該上片和該下片附接的袋型外殼的外側部分。

本申請案主張2013/5/21於韓國智慧財產局(Korean Intellectual Property Office)申請之韓國專利申請案10-2013-0057390號的優先權,該案係以引用方式併入本文中。
本發明關於袋型二次電池及製造彼之方法。
隨著技術發展以及對於行動裝置之需求增加,對於作為能源之二次電池的需求快速增加。因此,已大量進行對於符合多樣化需求之電池的研究。尤其是,可充電二次電池在作為電動車、混合動力車等之電源方面受到注意。
二次電池可製成各種形式。通常,對於具有薄厚度且可應用於諸如行動電話之產品的稜柱型二次電池及袋型二次電池之需求高。當考慮材料時,對於具有良好
能量密度、放電電壓及安全性之鋰二次電池(諸如鋰鈷聚合物電池)的需求高。
在上述電池當中,袋型二次電池有利於實現可攜式電子裝置之纖薄及輕量。
袋型二次電池係藉由將包括陰極、陽極及隔板以及電解質的電極組容納在外部材料之袋型外殼中,進行電池之第一次成形,使用外部部件除氣、裁切及移除該外部部件及進行該電池之第二次成形來製造。
在此情況下,電池之安全性會因流經因裁切所造成之袋型外殼的曝露金屬層之電流而惡化,及會因腐蝕所造成之封裝能力損失而產生水滲透及電解質流失。尤其是,會產生因水所造之該電池中之副反應,且電池性能及安全性會惡化。
因此,極需要一種可改善上述瑕疵之製造袋型二次電池的方法。
本發明之一態樣提供包括在袋型外殼之外側部分上的聚合物塗層以改善密封性之袋型二次電池。

次電池之方法,其包括製備袋型外殼,該袋型外殼配備有容納部件以用於容納電極組及連接至該容納部件之氣體收集部件以用於收集該容納部件所產生的氣體;將該電極組容納在該袋型外殼中;藉由熱熔接密封該袋型外殼之外部件;將電解質注入該袋型外殼;活化二次電池及經由該氣體收集部件收集在活化期間所產生的氣體;熱熔接該容納部件和該氣體收集部件之邊界;裁切及移除該氣體收集部件;以及在該容納該電極組之袋型外殼的外側部分形成聚合物塗層。

本發明概念之範例實施態樣將參考附圖更詳細描述。茲進一步暸解用語(諸如常用字典中所界定者)應解釋為具有與其在相關技術內容及本發明技術觀念中一致之意思,且除非本文中明確界定,否則不解釋為理想或過度正式意思。
實施態樣中所述之主題及本說明書之圖式僅為較佳實施態樣,且應視為例證而非限制性。因此,希望所有等效物及修改包括在本發明概念之範圍內。
首先,本發明提供一種包括藉由附接上片及下片所形成之袋型外殼;及容納在該袋型外殼中之電極組的袋型二次電池,其中用於改善密封性之聚合物塗層係額外包括在該上片和該下片附接的袋型外殼的外側部分上。
特別是,圖1A及1B為圖示說明本發明一實
施態樣之包括聚合物塗層的袋型二次電池之示意圖。
參考圖1A及1B,該袋型二次電池包括上片
及下片,且該上片及該下片各包括內層101/黏著層102/金屬層103/防止腐蝕層104/外層105,且該上片及該下片係藉由熱而彼此熔接。
內層101具有熱黏著劑性質及扮演密封材料
之角色,且可包括選自由以下所組成之群組中的至少一者:未經定向酸丙烯、聚丙烯-丁烯-乙烯之三元共聚物、聚氯丙烯、聚乙烯、丙烯-丙烯之共聚物、聚乙烯及丙烯酸之共聚物、及聚丙烯及丙烯酸之共聚物。
黏著劑層102係藉由塗覆可附著至金屬層103
之黏著樹脂所形成以利附著至該金屬層103。黏著劑層102係藉由使用與內層101相似之材料形成,且可包括選自由聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯、經酸改質之聚丙烯及經酸改質之聚乙烯所組成之群組中的至少一者以改善與金屬層103之黏著性。
提供金屬層103以保持機械強度及扮演濕度
及氧之阻障層的角色。金屬層103可包括選自由以下所組成之群組中的一者或混合物:鐵(Fe)、碳(C)、鉻(Cr)、錳(Mn)、鎳(Ni)及鋁(Al)。更特別的是,金屬層103可包括選自由以下所組成之群組中的至少一者:鋁;鐵、碳、鉻及錳之合金;及鐵、碳、鉻及鎳之合金。
外層105作為基質及鈍化層,且包括選自由以下所組成之群組中的至少一者:聚乙烯、聚苯醚、聚醯
亞胺、酸丙烯、澆鑄聚丙烯、對苯二甲酸醚酯及聚苯硫。防止腐蝕層104可額外配置於外層105與金屬層103之間。
防止腐蝕層104為具有對於電解質所產生之腐蝕具有抗性的層,且可包括鋯、鉻或其混合物。
此外,電極組為陰極及陽極係堆疊以使其間配置隔板的電力產生元件,且具有堆疊型或堆疊與摺疊型結構。電極耳係從該電極組之各電極板延伸,而電極端係藉由例如熔接而電性連接至從各電極板延伸之複數個電極耳各者。一部分該等電極端係曝露於袋型二次電池外部以供電池主體與外部電性連接。
同時,在袋型二次電池中,進行電池之第一次成形,及進行除氣程序以去除於初始充電及放電期間所產生的氣體。然後,裁切及移除該氣體收集部件,及進行電池之第二次成形。在此情況下,建構用以形成袋型外殼之金屬層係因該裁切程序而曝露,且腐蝕而損失封裝能力。因此,會產生水滲透及電解質流失,從而使電池的性能及安全性惡化。
為了解決上述瑕疵,在本發明中在上片和下片附接之袋型外殼的外側部分上額外形成聚合物塗層106,以改善進行第二次成形程序之前或之後的密封性。如此,可防止以其他金屬材料形成該袋型外殼之金屬層的電流,且在隨後程序中該袋型外殼之外側可鈍化。因此,可防止後續程序中之負面影響。
所形成之聚合物塗層的位置無特殊限制。該
聚合物塗層可如圖1B所示僅形成於與電極組之電極端的擠出表面呈垂直的外側部分上,或可選擇性地形成於與該等電極端的擠出表面呈水平的外側部分上。最佳地,聚合物塗層可如圖1A所示形成於袋型外殼的整個外側部分上。在此情況下,電極端可包括及陰極端陽極端,且可配置在電極組的相同側,及可分別配置在面對彼此之兩側上。例如,電極端可配置在電池單元(battery cell)一側上,在面對彼此之兩側上,以使該等電極端不會彼此電性接觸。
此外,在本發明之袋型二次電池中,聚合物
可包括在塗覆及固化之後提供絕緣性質之所有類型的聚合物。該聚合物為UV可固化聚合物或熱固性聚合物,且不局限於此。
特別是,UV可固化聚合物可包括選自以下之
單一材料或混合物:具有二或多個異氰酸酯基之有機異氰酸酯化合物及經以聚內酯為底質之化合物改質的(甲基)丙烯酸羥烷酯樹脂。
此外,熱固性聚合物可包括選自由以下所組
成之群組的單一材料或二或多者之混合物:(甲基)丙烯酸環氧烷酯、烯丙基環氧丙醚、烯丙基環氧丙酯、芳基環氧丙醚、芳基環氧丙酯、5-降莰烯-2-甲基-2-甲酸環氧丙酯(內化合物及外化合物之混合物)、1,2-環氧基-5-己烯、1,2-環氧基-9-癸烯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙酯、(甲基)丙烯
酸環氧丙基α-乙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙基α-正丙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙基α-正丁酯、(甲基)丙烯酸甲基環氧丙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸3,4-環氧基丁酯、(甲基)丙烯酸4,5-環氧基戊酯、(甲基)丙烯酸5,6-環氧基庚酯、及α-乙基丙烯酸6,7-環氧基庚酯。
此外,聚合物塗層106之厚度無特殊限制,
且視形成該塗層之聚合物的種類而定,只形成能限制水滲透的最小厚度。聚合物塗層106可形成在保持袋型二次電池之外部標準的範圍內之最大可能厚度。
此外,本發明中提供一種製造袋型二次電池
之方法,其包括製備袋型外殼,該袋型外殼配備有容納部件以用於容納電極組及連接至該容納部件之氣體收集部件以用於收集該容納部件所產生的氣體;將該電極組容納在該袋型外殼中;藉由熱熔接密封該袋型外殼之外部件;將電解質注入該袋型外殼;活化二次電池及經由該氣體收集部件收集在活化期間所產生的氣體;熱熔接該容納部件和該氣體收集部件之邊界;裁切及移除該氣體收集部件;以及在該容納該電極組之袋型外殼的外側部分形成聚合物塗層。
在本發明方法中,聚合物塗層之形成可在二
次電池形成程序之前或之後進行,較佳係在該電池形成程序之後進行。
此外,聚合物塗層可藉由接觸型塗覆法形成。
接觸型塗覆法可藉由使用海綿塗覆頭或滾筒
塗覆頭進行。尤其是,由於本發明之聚合物塗層係在將聚合物溶解於水或有機溶劑之後來塗覆,該塗覆法無特殊限制,及可使用適當方法。
此外,在形成聚合物塗層之後,可額外進行一般熱乾燥程序以乾燥該塗層。
圖2為顯示製造本發明一實施態樣之袋型二次電池的方法中之接觸型塗覆法的示意圖。
參考圖2在進行除氣程序之後,移除氣體收集部件,及進行第二次電池成形。然後,將聚合物塗層203形成於曝露之袋型外殼的整體表面上。
在此情況下,聚合物塗層之位置無特殊限制,該聚合物塗層可僅形成於與電極組之電極端201及202的擠出側呈垂直的外側部分上,或可選擇性地形成於與電極組之電極端的擠出側呈水平的外側部分上。然而,聚合物塗層較佳可形成於袋型外殼的整個外側部分上。
聚合物塗層可藉由使用接觸型塗覆法形成。
即,在使設置有塗覆頭204與含有聚合物材料之容器205的塗覆設備接觸至袋型外殼之外側部分之後,可沿著該外側部分進行塗覆。
接觸型塗覆頭204可為如圖3A所示之海綿塗覆頭204a或如圖3B所示之以纖維為底質的材料之滾筒塗覆頭204b。
雖然已關於範例實施態樣顯示及描述本發
明,但對熟習本領域之人士而言很顯然在不違背附錄申請專利範圍所界定的精神與範圍下可進行修改及變化。

Claims (11)
- 一種袋型二次電池,其包含:藉由附接上片及下片所形成之袋型外殼,以及容納在該袋型外殼中之電極組,其中用於改善密封性之聚合物塗層係另外包含在該上片和該下片附接的袋型外殼的外側部分。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋型二次電池,其中該上片及該下片各包括內層、金屬層及外層。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋型二次電池,其中該聚合物為UV可固化聚合物或熱固性聚合物。
- 如申請專利範圍第3項之袋型二次電池,其中該UV可固化聚合物包括選自由以下所組成之群組中的至少一者:具有二或多個異氰酸酯基之有機異氰酸酯化合物及經以聚內酯為底質之化合物改質的(甲基)丙烯酸羥烷酯樹脂。
- 如申請專利範圍第3項之袋型二次電池,其中該熱固性聚合物包括選自由以下所組成之群組中的至少一者:(甲基)丙烯酸環氧烷酯、烯丙基環氧丙醚、烯丙基環氧丙酯、芳基環氧丙醚、芳基環氧丙酯、5-降莰烯-2-甲基-2-甲酸環氧丙酯(內化合物及外化合物之混合物)、1,2-環氧基-5-己烯、1,2-環氧基-9-癸烯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙基α-乙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙基α-正丙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸環氧丙基α-正丁酯、(甲基)丙烯酸甲基環氧丙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸3,4-環氧基丁酯、(甲 基)丙烯酸4,5-環氧基戊酯、(甲基)丙烯酸5,6-環氧基庚酯、及α-乙基丙烯酸6,7-環氧基庚酯。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋型二次電池,其中該聚合物塗層係形成於與該電極組之電極端的擠出表面呈垂直的外側部分上。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋型二次電池,其中該聚合物塗層係形成於與該電極組之電極端的擠出表面呈水平的外側部分上。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋型二次電池,其中該聚合物塗層係形成於該上片和該下片附接的袋型外殼之整個表面上。
- 一種製造如申請專利範圍第1項之袋型二次電池的方法,其包括:製備袋型外殼,該袋型外殼配備有容納部件以用於容納電極組及連接至該容納部件之氣體收集部件以用於收集該容納部件所產生的氣體;將該電極組容納在該袋型外殼中;藉由熱熔接密封該袋型外殼之外部件;將電解質注入該袋型外殼;活化二次電池及經由該氣體收集部件收集在活化期間所產生的氣體;熱熔接該容納部件和該氣體收集部件之邊界;裁切及移除該氣體收集部件;以及在該容納該電極組之袋型外殼的外側部分形成聚合物 塗層。
- 如申請專利範圍第9項之製造袋型外殼的方法,其中該聚合物塗層之形成係藉由接觸型塗覆法進行。
- 如申請專利範圍第10項之製造袋型外殼的方法,其中該接觸型塗覆法係藉由使用海綿塗覆頭或滾筒塗覆頭進行。
