Abstract

一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路,用以控制發光單元發光時的灰階亮度。所述發光單元包括開關與發光元件,所述發光單元耦接一偏壓。所述伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括第一伽碼分壓器以及數位/類比轉換器。第一伽碼分壓器具有複數個電阻,第一伽碼分壓器之第一端耦接偏壓,而第二端耦接參考電流源。數位/類比轉換器耦接第一伽碼分壓器以接收第一伽碼分壓器產生的複數個參考電壓。所述數位/類比轉換器受控於一數位控制信號以將所述參考電壓中的其中之一輸出至所述發光單元之開關的控制端。

Description

具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置
本發明有關於一種伽碼參考電壓產生電路,且特別是一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置。
發光元件如發光二極體或有機發光二極體的發光亮度是與發光元件本身所導通的電流成正比,但發光亮度並非與電壓呈線性關係。因此,為了在發光二極體或有機發光二極體應用於顯示裝置時可以設計出適當的灰階亮度,通常會使用伽碼分壓器。伽碼分壓器是用以提供所需的多個參考電壓,每一個參考電壓對應於一個灰階。
請參照圖1,圖1是傳統的發光單元的電路圖。傳統的發光單元1包括開關15與發光元件16。偏壓Vo被提供至彼此串接的開關與發光元件。當開關15的控制端接收驅動信號Vc時,通過發光元件16的電流會隨著驅動信號Vc而改變。
然而,偏壓Vo可能受到外部電信號的干擾或電磁干擾的影響,而使偏壓Vo產生浮動。當偏壓Vo發生浮動,而提供至開關15的驅動信號Vc不變的情況下,發光元件16發光的灰階亮度就會隨著偏壓Vo的浮動而改變。
本發明實施例提供一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置,其在發光單元的偏壓浮動時,伽碼分壓電路的偏壓也隨之浮動,以避免發光單元的灰階亮度受到發光單元的偏壓浮動而變化。
本發明實施例提供一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路,用以控制發光單元發光時的灰階亮度。所述發光單元包括開關以及耦接所述開關的發光元件,所述發光單元耦接一偏壓。所述伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括第一伽碼分壓器以及數位/類比轉換器。第一伽碼分壓器具有複數個電阻,所述電阻彼此串聯且耦接於第一伽碼分壓器之第一端以及第二端之間,所述第一端耦接偏壓,所述第二端耦接參考電流源。所述第一伽碼分壓器產生複數個參考電壓。數位/類比轉換器耦接第一伽碼分壓器以接收所述參考電壓,所述數位/類比轉換器受控於一數位控制信號以將所述參考電壓中的其中之一輸出至所述發光單元之開關的控制端。
本發明實施例提供一種顯示裝置,其包括複數個發光單元與伽碼參考電壓產生電路。所述發光單元以陣列形式排列,所述發光單元耦接一偏壓,每一發光單元包括開關以及耦接所述開關的發光元件。伽碼參考電壓產生電路用以控制所述發光單元發光時的灰階亮度,所述伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括第一伽碼分壓器以及數位/類比轉換器。第一伽碼分壓器具有複數個電阻,所述電阻彼此串聯且耦接於第一伽碼分壓器之第一端以及第二端之間。所述第一端耦接偏壓,所述第二端耦接參考電流源,所述第一伽碼分壓器產生複數個參考電壓。數位/類比轉換器耦接第一伽碼分壓器以接收所述參考電壓。所述數位/類比轉換器受控於數位控制信號以將所述參考電壓中的其中之一輸出至每一發光單元之開關的控制端。
綜上所述,本發明實施例提供一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置,其提供了參考電流源至伽碼分壓 器,並使伽碼分壓器的偏壓與發光單元的偏壓耦接,藉此在發光單元的偏壓浮動時,伽碼分壓電路的偏壓也隨之浮動,以避免發光單元的灰階亮度受到發光單元的偏壓浮動而變化。

〔具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置之實施例〕
請參照圖2,圖2是本發明實施例提供的具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路的電路圖。具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路,用以控制發光單元20發光時的灰階亮度。所述發光單元20包括開關25以及耦接開關25的發光元件26,發光單元20耦接一偏壓VOLED。所述發光元件26是發光二極體,例如是有機發光二極體,但本發明並不因此限定。所述伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括第一伽碼分壓器21、數位/類比轉換器22、數位電路控制介面23、單位增益放大器24以及參考電流源IREF。
第一伽碼分壓器21具有電阻R1、R2、R3、R4、R14、R15、R16等,所述電阻彼此串聯且耦接於第一伽碼分壓器21之第一端以及第二端之間,所述第一端耦接偏壓VOLED,所述第二端耦接參考電流源IREF。數位/類比轉換器22耦接第一伽碼分壓器 21。數位電路控制介面23耦接數位/類比轉換器22。數位電路控制介面23傳送數位控制信號至數位/類比轉換器22。單位增益放大器24耦接於數位/類比轉換器22與發光單元20之間。
第一伽碼分壓器21產生複數個參考電壓V1、V2、V3、V4...V14、V15、V16等。在本實施例中,為了方便說明,數位/類比轉換器22是四位元的轉換器,但本發明並不因此限定。數位/類比轉換器22耦接第一伽碼分壓器21以接收所述參考電壓(V1、V2、V3、V4...V14、V15、V16等),數位/類比轉換器22受控於來自數位電路控制介面23的數位控制信號以將所述參考電壓(V1、V2、V3、V4...V14、V15、V16等)中的其中之一輸出至發光單元20之開關25的控制端(透過單位增益放大器24)。換句話說,數位/類比轉換器22依據數位控制信號而選擇參考電壓的其中之一,並將所選擇的參考電壓輸出至發光單元20之開關25的控制端。
在本實施例中,開關25是金氧半場效電晶體(MOSFET),開關25的控制端是閘極。單位增益放大器24的驅動信號Vc是用以對開關25的控制端提供足夠的電壓驅動能力。
值得一提的是,由於第一伽碼分壓器21的偏壓是與發光單元20的偏壓相同(皆為VOLED),當發光單元20的偏壓VOLED受到外部電訊號的干擾而浮動時,第一伽碼分壓器21所產生的參考電壓(V1、V2、V3、V4...V14、V15、V16等)也隨之浮動。因此,被傳送到發光單元20的開關25的控制端的電壓是隨著發光單元20的偏壓VOLED而浮動的。如此,發光元件26發光的灰階可不受外部電信號的干擾或電磁干擾而改變。
依據上述,為了構成一個顯示裝置,顯示裝置可以具有複數個發光單元20,所述發光單元20以陣列形式排列。所述發光單元20耦接偏壓VOLED,每一發光單元20包括開關25以及耦接開關25的發光元件26,如圖2所示。上述的伽碼參考電壓產生電路的數位/類比轉換器22受控於數位控制信號以將上述參考電壓(V1、 V2、V3、V4...V14、V15、V16等)中的其中之一輸出至以陣列形式排列的每一發光單元20之開關25的控制端(在圖2中是閘極)。
〔具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置的另一實施例〕
請參照圖3,圖3是本發明另一實施例提供的具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路的電路圖。具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路,用以控制發光單元30發光時的灰階亮度。所述發光單元30包括開關35以及耦接開關35的發光元件36,發光單元30耦接偏壓VOLED。所述發光元件36是發光二極體,例如是有機發光二極體,但本發明並不因此限定。所述伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括第一伽碼分壓器31、數位/類比轉換器32、第二伽碼分壓器31a、數位電路控制介面33、單位增益放大器34、電壓緩衝單元37以及參考電流源IREF。
第一伽碼分壓器31與圖2的第一伽碼分壓器21相同的是具有複數個彼此串聯的電阻,所述電阻彼此串聯且耦接於第一伽碼分壓器21之第一端以及第二端之間,所述第一端耦接偏壓VOLED,所述第二端耦接參考電流源IREF。第一伽碼分壓器31與圖2的第一伽碼分壓器21不同的是用於分壓的電阻數目不同,在本實施例中,第一伽碼分壓器31產生N個參考電壓(N為自然數),如圖3所示的參考電壓V1REF、V2REF...VnREF等。電壓緩衝單元37耦接第一伽碼分壓器31。第二伽碼分壓器31a耦接於電壓緩衝單元37與數位類比轉換器32之間。數位電路控制介面33耦接數位/類比轉換器32。數位電路控制介面33傳送數位控制信號至數位/類比轉換器32。單位增益放大器34耦接於數位/類比轉換器32與發光單元30之間。
換句話說,圖3的伽碼參考電壓產生電路與圖2的伽碼參考電壓產生電路大致相同,其差異僅在於增加了電壓緩衝單元37與 第二伽碼分壓器31a。電壓緩衝單元37包括多個緩衝器371、372...37n。每一個緩衝器(371、372...37n)對應第接收一個參考電壓(V1REF、V2REF...VnREF),且將參考電壓(V1REF、V2REF...VnREF)傳送至第二伽碼分壓器31a。第一伽碼分壓器31是屬於前伽碼電路,第二伽碼分壓器31a是屬於後伽碼分壓器(用以微調伽碼值)。
值得一提的是,由於第一伽碼分壓器31的偏壓是與發光單元30的偏壓相同(皆為VOLED),當發光單元30的偏壓VOLED受到外部電信號的干擾或電磁干擾而浮動時,第一伽碼分壓器31所產生的參考電壓(V1REF、V2REF...VnREF)也隨之浮動。因此,被傳送到發光單元30的開關35的控制端的電壓是隨著發光單元30的偏壓VOLED而浮動的。如此,發光元件36發光的灰階可不受外部電信號的干擾或電磁干擾而改變。
依據上述,為了構成一個顯示裝置,顯示裝置可以具有複數個發光單元30,所述發光單元30以陣列形式排列。所述發光單元30耦接偏壓VOLED,每一發光單元30包括開關35以及耦接開關35的發光元件36,如圖3所示。上述的伽碼參考電壓產生電路的數位/類比轉換器32受控於數位控制信號以將上述參考電壓(V1REF、V2REF...VnREF)中的其中之一輸出至以陣列形式排列的每一發光單元30之開關35的控制端(在圖3中是閘極)。
〔實施例的可能功效〕
綜上所述,本發明實施例提供一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路及顯示裝置,其提供了參考電流源至伽碼分壓器,並使伽碼分壓器的偏壓與發光單元的偏壓耦接,藉此在發光單元的偏壓浮動時,伽碼分壓電路的偏壓也隨之浮動,以避免發光單元的灰階亮度受到發光單元的偏壓浮動而變化。

  1. 一種具電壓自動補償的伽碼參考電壓產生電路,用以控制一發光單元發光時的灰階亮度,該發光單元包括一開關以及耦接該開關的一發光元件,該發光單元耦接一偏壓,該伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括:一第一伽碼分壓器,具有複數個電阻,該些電阻彼此串聯且耦接於該第一伽碼分壓器之一第一端以及一第二端之間,該第一端耦接該偏壓,該第二端耦接一參考電流源,該第一伽碼分壓器產生複數個參考電壓;以及一數位/類比轉換器,耦接該第一伽碼分壓器以接收該些參考電壓,該數位/類比轉換器受控於一數位控制信號以將該些參考電壓中的其中之一輸出至該發光單元之該開關的控制端。
  2. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之伽碼參考電壓產生電路,其中該發光元件是發光二極體。
  3. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之伽碼參考電壓產生電路,其中該開關是金氧半場效電晶體。
  4. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之伽碼參考電壓產生電路,更包括:一單位增益放大器,耦接於該數位/類比轉換器與該開關之間。
  5. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之伽碼參考電壓產生電路,更包括:一電壓緩衝單元,該電壓緩衝單元耦接該第一伽碼分壓器;以及一第二伽碼分壓器,耦接於該電壓緩衝單元與該數位類比轉換器之間。
  6. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之伽碼參考電壓產生電路,更包括:一數位電路控制介面,傳送該數位控制信號至該數位/類比轉換器。
  7. 一種顯示裝置,包括: 複數個發光單元,該些發光單元以陣列形式排列,該些發光單元耦接一偏壓,每一該發光單元包括一開關以及耦接該開關的一發光元件;以及一伽碼參考電壓產生電路,用以控制該發些光單元發光時的灰階亮度,該伽碼參考電壓產生電路包括:一第一伽碼分壓器,具有複數個電阻,該些電阻彼此串聯且耦接於該第一伽碼分壓器之一第一端以及一第二端之間,該第一端耦接該偏壓,該第二端耦接一參考電流源,該第一伽碼分壓器產生複數個參考電壓;以及一數位/類比轉換器,耦接該第一伽碼分壓器以接收該些參考電壓,該數位/類比轉換器受控於一數位控制信號以將該些參考電壓中的其中之一輸出至每一該發光單元之該開關的控制端。
  8. 根據申請專利範圍第7項之顯示裝置,其中該發光元件是發光二極體。
  9. 根據申請專利範圍第7項之顯示裝置,其中該開關是金氧半場效電晶體。
  10. 根據申請專利範圍第7項之顯示裝置,其中該伽碼參考電壓產生電路更包括:一電壓緩衝單元,該電壓緩衝單元耦接該第一伽碼分壓器;以及一第二伽碼分壓器,耦接於該電壓緩衝單元與該數位類比轉換器之間。
