Abstract

本發明是有關於一種端子的領域,尤其涉及可安裝於一電路板上的端子的領域。
端子被設置成用於連接到電路板。這種結構(designs)可設置成焊接或壓接配合到所述電路板上設置的穿孔中。對於要求具有更高牢靠性的應用而言,這種結構傾向於更多地關注在可焊接於所述電路板的端子結構上。兩個基本的設計是可行的,其中一種設計是設置有一殼體,而另一種設計是不設置一殼體。殼體提供諸多益處但是趨於使成本更高。因此,某些應用可能通過僅有端子的設計會更合適。然而,現有的結構不趨於提供一低高度的外形。由此,某些人群會賞識對端子結構和線對板連接器上的進一步的改進。
因此,本發明之目的,即在提供一種端子,所述端子能夠固定於包括包覆在一導體周圍的一絕緣層的導線,且所述端子包括一第一壓接部和一第二壓接部。所述第一壓接部設置成接合所述絕緣層和所述導體。所述第二壓接部設置為接合於移除了所述絕緣層的所述導體。所述第一壓接部和第二壓接部各自包括一對朝向彼此彎折的翼部,從而當所述端子固定於所述導線時,所述一對翼部牢固地抓握住所述導線的對應區域。兩個腿部位於所述第一壓接部和所述第二壓接部之間,其中所述兩個腿部位於所述端子的相對兩側或所述兩個腿部位於所述端子的相同側。所述兩個腿部設置成焊接於一電路板且包括設置成具有針眼式結構的尾部或任何其它可用於焊接於所述電路板的常規尾部結構。由此,一導線能夠以一低高度外形的方式電連接於所述電路板。

以下詳細說明將描述示例性實施例並且不意欲限制到這些明確公開的組合。因此,除非另有說明,本文所公開的多個特徵可以組合在一起,以形成出於簡明目的而未另外說明的其它組合。
從附圖中可看出,所述端子包括有多種益處。如圖1和圖2所示,一端子10設置成安裝到電路板5,電路板5包括多個穿孔6且支撐一導線50,一導線50包括一導體55和一絕緣層58。如圖3和圖4進一步所示,所述端子10包括用於將所述導線50和所述端子10固定在一起的位於一基部15上的一第一壓接部20以及一第二壓接部30。第一壓接部20包括多個翼部22a、22b,並且第二壓接部30包括多個朝向彼此彎折以牢固地抓住導線50的翼部32a、32b。
如圖5最佳所示,一對腿部40位於第一壓接部 20和第二壓接部30之間。每一個腿部40包括一尾部44。尾部44示出為具有一針眼式結構,但是如果需要也可以是一簡單的通孔結構。所述針眼結構的益處在於端子10可在一回流焊工作之前更牢固地設置在電路板5上。然而與常規的針眼結構相比,所示出的實施例可設置為與用於提供一壓接配合結構的一針眼結構相比,具有更小的過盈配合方式被固持在電鍍的通孔中。例如,通常的壓接配合結構設計成端子尾部寬度比結合通孔的直徑大至少15%(且優選大至少20%)。相比之下,所示出的結構將具有設計成用於提供一過盈配合的一尾部寬度,但是所述過盈配合被降低,即所述尾部寬度比所述電鍍通孔的直徑大不到15%、代表性地大不到12%甚至有可能大不到11%。已確認的是,除了固持力之外,由於改進的焊接連接和增加的表面積,所述尾部44上的所述開孔有助於在所述尾部44和所述通孔6之間提供一更好的電連接,從而所示出的結構有助於降低阻抗並提高連接器系統的性能。
所述結構的一益處在於壓接部30接合所述絕緣層58,這提供了另外的結構上的益處,因為絕緣層58和導體55的組合比導體55自身強度更大。所示出的結構的另一個益處在於所述兩個腿部40接合第一壓接部20和第二壓接部30之間的電路板5,從而有助於保證作用到所述導線50上的力不會明顯地作用在第一壓接部20(從而有助於保護所述導線50和所述端子10之間的電連接)。基部15兩相對側上的所述兩個尾部44的平衡結構進一步有助於將 力分配到所述電路板5,這實際上應有助於保護端子10和支撐電路板5之間的電連接。在一實施例中,端子10可設置成第二壓接部30直接擱在電路板5上,然而第一壓接部20是位於稍高於電路板5。
從圖中可以看出,所述多個腿部40具有沿與一B方向基本垂直的一A方向延伸的多個尾部44,所述B方向由圖2和圖6A-6C示出的電路板5的表面所定義。換句話說,尾部44可與電路板5垂直或甚至正交。如所示出地,尾部44延伸穿過支撐電路板5。當端子10焊接於電路板5時,這允許一焊接圓角形成在所述電路板5的相對邊上,以增加固持力。
應當注意的是,基部15可設置成第二壓接部30直接放在所述電路板5上而第一壓接部20相對所述電路板5向上升起。利用電路板5為端子10提供進一步的支撐,可以預期將有助於進一步確保端子10將不會意外地從電路板5上移除。由此,基部15可提供所述第一壓接部20和所述第二壓接部30開始延伸的一水準位置,然而第二壓接部30的大尺寸,連同所示出的所述多個腿部40的朝向將導致其首先接觸一支撐電路板5,並且將有助於為所述端子10提供另外的支撐。由此,示出的實施例允許一導線50以一低高度外形的方式電連接於一支撐電路板5。
圖9和圖10示出另一種結構,兩個腿部140形成在第一壓接部120和第二壓接部130之間,並且所述兩個腿部140從基部115的相同側沿一C方向延伸。基部115 可以形成為具有一第一表面的一平板,並且所述兩個壓接部可形成並且被支撐為使它們處於遠離所述第一表面一距離的位置。在這種結構中,端子110被旋轉了90度,其中腿部140位於與端子110的基部115相同的平面上。類似地,所述多個腿部140具有以一垂直或正交的方式收容在電路板105上形成的多個電鍍通孔106中的多個尾部144。此外,第一壓接部120包括多個翼部122a、122b且所述第二壓接部130包括多個朝向彼此彎折的牢固地抓緊導線150的翼部132a、132b。
實質上,如圖7和圖8所示,端子110在其側向設置有與導線150的導體155結合的第一壓接部120以及與包覆導線150的導體155的絕緣層158結合的第二壓接部130,同時第一壓接部120稍高於電路板105,而第二壓接部130直接放在電路板105上並且還由電路板105支撐。在這個結構中,多個腿部140上具有多個尾部144,這些尾部144上形成有設置成壓入到電路板105的一電鍍通孔106中並被焊接的一針眼結構(如上所述)。所述尾部也可以放置到一通孔結構中,其中所述尾部焊接於設置在所述電路板兩相反側的接觸墊上。如所認識到的是,兩個腿部140從一基部115的相同側延伸出來。
如前所述,端子110提供一低高度外形的結構,以最小化從所述電路板105延伸的端子110的高度。如所示出地,所述端子110保持一低高度外形結構,而且當在工作時,即安裝到所述電路板105上時還保持並列佈置的 端子110之間的一緊密的間隔。如圖10最佳所示,兩個腿部140從端子110的基部115沿一C方向延伸,這允許導線150在一第一方向上延伸離開端子110。在另一個結構中,多個腿部140也可以從端子110的基部115的相反側沿一D方向延伸,這實質上形成所述端子110的一翻轉或鏡像形式。所述鏡像形式允許導線150沿所述第一方向延伸,與此同時使兩個壓接部的位置相對所述基部115成為鏡像。如圖11所示的這種結構,相鄰的端子110、110’可以以一背對背靠近的佈置設置在一電路板105上,以進一步最小化端子間隔。由此,一實施例可包括一第一導線組件和一第二導線組件,所述兩個導線組件設置成以一背對背方向接合於一電路板105,並且所述兩個端子110、110’設置成使所述第一腿部和第二腿部在所述兩個結構中從所述基部115的相同側延伸。

Claims (10)

  1. 一種端子組件,包括:一導線,其包括包覆一導體的一絕緣層,所述導線包括已將所述絕緣層移除的一第一部分;一端子,其包括一基部、由所述基部支撐的一第一壓接部和一第二壓接部,所述端子還包括一第一腿部和一第二腿部,其中所述第一壓接部設置為高於一支撐電路板,所述第一壓接部接合所述第一部分,其中所述第二壓接部設置為擱在所述支撐電路板上,從而使所述第一壓接部相對於所述第二壓接部向上升起,而且其中所述第一腿部和所述第二腿部位於所述第一壓接部和所述第二壓接部之間,所述第一腿部和第二腿部各自具有一尾部,所述尾部設置為插入到所述支撐電路板的一穿孔中。
  2. 如請求項1所述的端子,其中,所述第一腿部和所述第二腿部彼此對齊並且位於所述基部的兩相對側。
